Guys, this is so ridiculous for you to have this "debate" here of all places. This video is more than 2 years old, it's an interview about salsa! Like I said before, our mission is to talk to chefs about their food. We're not here to support flame wars about politics and racism. Aren't there enough places for that vitriol already? chuquimarca... Not wanting Mexicans in our country is very very very far from what the immigration issue is. The issue is about money.. and more specifically, TAXES. There are many mexicans who cross the border LEGALLY, get registered, and pay taxes. no one is saying keep them mexicans out but we want their food.

Oh get real. That is such a racist comment. Rick is a chef, his job is to cook food and feed people, not be a political activist. Arguably, he's done more for the image of TRUE Mexican food in this country than just about any other chef. It's because of chefs like Rick, Zarela Martinez, and Aaron Sanchez, that Americans are being exposed to GREAT Mexican food.

You expecting a chef to be an activist for immigrant rights is your own issue. I'm betting that he employs more Mexicans than you do.

He's lived in Mexico for years. He's studied Spanish and Latin American Studies, he's about as Mexican as they come, if you've seen his show, and he pays great homage to Mexico and Mexican culture. I can't tell if your comment is positive or negative towards Rick, but it sounds ignorant. He's done a great deal in bridging the gap between America and Mexico, so yes, he has helped the Mexican community.

In my past comment I was actually supporting Rick. I just got angry at the people below who state dumb things against Mr. Bayless. Overall I love his show because he always has respect for traditional mexican food. Thank goodness I never see him do tex mex.. I mean people In America consider tex mex to be true Mexican food. Yet Rick shows us that Authentic Mexican food is amazing and is just beautiful when cooked correctly. God bless!

Yes, we do. We don't eat traditional food everyday, because we like to try new flavors too, everyone does. We don't eat things like the ones rick makes because they're for special ocations.

I think The American People are very open minded about flavors of other countries, where else in the world do you have so much variety than here in The USA. If you go Italy, Italians eat Italian food, If you go to France the French eat their food and so on. We have made here...
