  • There is a book which will easily and quickly have anyone bending any degree of angle from 0 to 180 degrees, with any size bender. All bends will be precise; a 37 degree bend will measure 37 degrees! Gain is easily understood for any bend with any size bender! Information about the best and easiest to understand workbook which can be used by anyone to become an accomplished conduit, tube or pipe bender can be found on a youtube website at /t04041951

  • Really good video. Thinking fo doing one ourselves but more of an 'on site' version. When we do I'll link to this. Well Done.

  • this helped to get my head round a bit more lol. im learning copper pipe bending and im getting really confused on marking out but this has eased the confusion some what, thanks. well done for uploading, any more on the way ? lol.

  • holy shit... By the time you went through the first couple steps I would have been done and had the system pressure tested.

  • lol you'd never get a job done if you done all that!!

  • HI, Thanks for the video. I am a diy er, and would really like to be able to bend copper tubes. Is there any books or websites anyone knows of that give step by step instruction. Thanks.

  • pish<<<< proper plumbers dont even use a tape just another piece pipe and plumbers.. dont use that primary school ruler which comes with jobseekers allowance kit and crayons and show ur face if you are that brave and any papers that u may have

  • @brianliz1000 er bruv proper plumbers HAVE to use a tape cause they need to know whut to measure init otherwise its either too small or too big i doubt if your a plumber to be honest if you arks me

  • plumber no how to diy,ers dont

  • what with the music....

  • The video was made by a group of my students as part of a level one plumbing qualification. The actual bend as demonstrated was merely a vehicle. The plan behind it was to make an aid memoire for their own use whilst learning at the college. Yes it is a little fiddly for site work, but a building site is hardly the best place to learn the basics. Also a video of a trained craftsman manipulating copper pipe whilst a joy to behold, would not offer assistance to beginners.

  • Hi Could you explain how you worked out the 1st angle, using a rule and tape measure?

  • @chrislemin Very helpful and made a lot of sense compared to the plumbing book I have. Can I ask regarding step six, what is the significance of getting the 2nd bend point as you show compared to the wrong way? What difference would it make doing it the other way? I've been shown a different method to this which looks similar to the wrong way!

    thank you.

  • @maccagrabme The significance of getting the line to kiss the edge of the bender on the tangent is because we measured the line from the bottom of the pipe. If you don't do that your legs will be unequal. I am guessing you are measuring along the centre of the pipe and therefore your line will be half a pipe diameter one side or the other?

  • So, if I want to bend a pipe , I have to take the morning off?

  • funny

  • Thanks. This is of course the right technical way but most of us just gauge it and get better with practice. Its the same with driving, you can be shown the proper way to do a manover but we tend to find our own way. Good video to be fair though

  • fine for college bit fiddly for site work

  • Sounds like a tradesman making excuses for his shortcuts. Take some pride in your work son!
