i make a network, he joins and we are cool so far.

After that do i just go into the game and make a server??

they play without steam, well T2 does anyway, the mass majority of his games he plays hamachi servers because he would rather not pay for games on steam. which is acceptable for him, because so many people will play with him, if it were someone else, it would prolly suck because they wouldn't have so many people who wanna play with him.
