Phosphorous can be obtained at home! Take a match box and a piece of sandpaper. Sand off all if the red striker and collect it. Add a drop or two of water and make el wire.
Heh heh heh heh, I see I'm not the first to notice the combination of brains and 'braun' you have. I'll add that you have a beautiful voice. I kind of forget what you're talking about because of it. Could be worse, no?
forming a capacitor? you just gave me an awesome idea for a night light. a small plastic ball filled with phosphors, place in the center of an air core electro magnet.
Saw the dead pixel, paused the video at a point where it was more obvious and started using a pencil rubber to try and get it going again (tip i read a long time ago)
After a couple of tries i give up and am fairly disappointed that i have a dead pixel but continue watching. Turns out id paused just before you mention the damn thing :)
Jeri, Our work benches look alike. Just push stuff back to make room for today's experiment! lol It's actually a cool organizaitonal system, organized the way the brain works. Older stuff is just pushed back a little further. You can find anything you want by digging into the layers about where they ought to be and while you're looking, you find lots of other stuff organized chronologically.
Could you use CFL tubes from say laptop LCD back lights to drive them or do I need to wait for the next video on power supplies? Hey can't hurt to ask . ;) I just have a box of them from doing repair work and never though of a use for them.
Lol I have a dead pixel on my 56" LCD Tv for gaming and I sit 3 feet away when I play, and it really is starting to throw me off. But just take a magnet to it and it revives it. No to strong of one or you'll screw other pixels over.
very cool could make for some awesome hardware ui interfaces with arrows that grow to point out issues perhaps instead of just a round error led. gaming applications too!

How would you modify your EL Wire design in order to produce an EL Ribbon?
ObiTrev 1 year ago
@ObiTrev It would be a stack up type arrangement on plastic. I posted a video about EL stackup.

You could probably average the dead pixel with it's surrounding pixels and no one would ever notice...

@gushhnet I was actually going to suggest that, that I noticed you did it first.
