The actress who played Hyacinth is absolutely brilliant. Particularly when you realize that a certain proportion of each show involved Hyacinth and a telephone--and no one else.

You also see Violet and the church hall when Hyacynth ask everyone she knows to come for dress rehearsal. Again, when Hyacynth hosts a bar b q at Violet's house and she is cutting up Bruce's shirt.

Hyacinth orders him around, doesn't listen to him, treats him like an idiot (even though she's the foolish one) and then, her worst maltreatment of him above all the others... she expects him to kiss her on the cheek! That's like Hitler expecting the Jews to chuck him a birthday party.

Good point! Even though Hyacinth is a snob and despairs over her "slobby" relatives, she can't totally abandon them because they are "family" at the end of the day. There's something quite endearing about that when all's said and done...
