@mennogamer559 Bullshit, overclock that E8500 past 4.0 Ghz, and this processor still rocks! I had it in combination with a HD 4890 and the only game where this CPU does bottleneck, is in GTA IV.
@opilako download MSI afterburner... but you don't have to do overclocking in this kind of card... people usually overclock their card for testing it or benchmarking....
My thing is if it takes $700 to run this game at that maxed out then I'll wait. It currently takes some of the highest end spec PC's around to run this game at 60fps 1920x1080. Yet people act like 1920x1080 maxed out 60fps is cheap.
@Nadasico In what? I have no problem with keeping 60fps with my 6990 at 1080p. If your talking Metro 2033, Have you tryed the game? Even at the 880/1250 I average 60fps in the Metro 2033 benchmark.
@GR3B3N Well if you only play at 1080p a 6870 crossfire would do great. You really don't start using the 6990 till you start running @2560 x 1600 and up. I have a XFX 6990 and im adding a MSI 6970 for Tri-fire, But I can play BFBC2 @5760x1080 and get 60FPS. To play Crysis you need more then a 6990 at that Rez.
@HiLuckyB Again, I was talking about fully maxed out Metro, not BC2. And in Crysis with full AA it gives out ~60 fps @ 1080p. I just can't play when fps is <60, so for me it isn't a waste at this res.

Most people are not going to drop $700 on a video card. What's nice about the 6990 it can take on larger screens and eyefinity quite well. I got the 6990 because im running Eyefinity, But I do play at 1080 when im watching videos on one screen and chating on the other : )
@XxBulletXPtoofxX The temperature of my 6990? With the stock air cooler 70-80c when pushing it, But my 6990 is water cooled with a EK waterblock now. It's never gone over 60c at 1015/1475 at 1.25v on a hot day.

My 6990 will do 960/1375 on the stock 1.175v. Im running a XSPC RX360 watercooling kit with a EK 6990 waterblock with a added RX120 rad, and a i7 2600K @4.8GHz. My pc is in my basement so it's always cool. 70f or 21c or lower room temp. But my 6990 has never been over 60c since its was water cooled, Even overclocked to the max.

So many people getting a 6990 for 1080p. Im getting a 6990 because im running 5760x1080. The 6990 is kind of wasted at 1080p.
