Main reason they took this down was because many people would get neck cramps right after this ride. When I went to six flags last summer, the only part left from this ride was the loop and they later took it down. The green lantern was already built in another six flags that I don't remember the name of under the name of Chang and so they painted it, changed the cars and stuff, moved it to great adventures, and named it Green Lantern.

At Six Flags over Georgia, the rice that's almost the same as this is called "The Ninja" and the Great American Scream Machine is an old old old wooden coaster that sits next to it that has been around since the 70's I think. This isn't the "Great American Scream Machine".

First of all RIP GASM secondly its not the same as viper because if to look on the lift hill of viper at 1 point theres a loop right next to the lift hill and im pretty sure viper dosent turn before the lift hill and the ending is differnt plus the only reason there taking this down is to make way for Green lantern!!!

Look on the bright side, they tore it down but If you look at the NEW ride there putting called "chang" Its just like the scream machine but way bigger :) so thumbs up!

ok,a couple of facts.The Great American Scream Machine is not the only rough ride in existance.And believe it or not,most people get hurt on rides like this(whiplash,headachs,ect) because 85% do not sit up straight,head back,and hold on to the restraints.Ask any employee that operates any rollercoaster and they will say the same thing.And,another thing they will agree on.Most of those people if asked,they would ride again in a heartbeat.
