Esp. the cadence at 1:30. Though Messiaen uses such added 6th and 2nd chords extremely often, your playing it is so very delicate that it sheds new meaning on these ultra simple sonorities.
La colombe = The Dove. I am currently playing this piece, and your video - more accurately, the picture you chose - made me realize that Messiaen, ever the religious mystic, probably wasn't thinking birds. He was likely thinking of a Dove, symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Duh. Should have gotten this earlier... Beautiful performance; thank you for posting this.
I just had an inexplicable reaction to the music in combination with the picture: like contact with eternal spirits or something wild like that. I guess that means, like pianopera said, great playing and great choice of picture!
Beautiful evocative playing. I also like the tasteful picture. This early work of Messiaen has a lot of Debussyan influences but his own characteristic style is already immanent, especially at the end. Thanks Marc!
heavenly! btw, it's the balinese influence at the very end, referring to the sound a gamelan-orchestra has.... :)

Such an incredibly beautiful piece! I like the last bit of bird-song in dissonance. Reminds me of Mode de valeur et intensité.
