  • i got one but I'm having trouble assigning the knobs

    please help

  • @xXJmcmaxminecraftXx this isnt a keyboard... you need a computer and a program to plug it into. if you're looking for just a regular keyboard then look for synthesizers, not midi controlers

  • Well, it ain't Mozart, but it's a nice free flowing way to create music. Come to think, I wonder what Mozart would have done with all this technology? Oh, wait... that was already revealed in Bruce Sterling's story Mozart In Mirrorshades. At least, it was in an offhand way.

  • nice vid

  • What should I choose as my first MIDI controller? M-Audio Oxygen 25 or Akai MPK mini?

  • Good stuff! I just received my 2day,hopefully

I get to learn it this weekend..I'll holler if I

    Got any questions.

  • @WhiteOuttFails oh yeah, make sure its set to preset 10 on the oxygen for directlink

  • @WhiteOuttFails ableton has built in directlink (so no need to install extra directlink drivers). make sure the drivers for the keyboard itself are installed (get latest drivers from m-audio.com) and then go into preferences, midi link then select the oxygen 25...there are instructions on the m-audio website for each software suite

  • Does anybody know if this will work with Sonar Cakewalk?

  • @kevinkapowski i use it with cakewake x1 pro

  • I got this Oxy25 today as free gift along with my keyboard. Now, I don't know what to do with this cutee instrument. lol. I plugged it with my PC and tried to play, nothing :((.

  • This video helped me make my buying decision.

Thank you for the great review!

  • hey man, I think that this MIDI controller is a very good choice because of linkable knobs and everything for a very good price comparing it with other controllers. I have a question - would you recommend it for starters? I've read a few articles about low amount octave controllers that they won't be enough after a short while. So I am thinking whether I should wait and buy Oxygen49 instead but I am interested in a small portable controller that O25 really is...so do you think O25 is OK?

  • @Randaalcz Portable creativity=O25, or Stationary rig with many octaves=61 key controller. why go just 49? If your going to get something that is more versitile/stationary go for the 61 key. If you're looking for portability, go for the 25. PEACE!

  • Man You Rock for making these videos, alot of us want a quality project, and have to do most of it by our selves COO-DOES BRO GAPP-DWELLA

  • @WhiteOuttFails Not sure, I hate ableton live... Might need to go to the M-audio website and look for the "direct link" files to load it in ableton. Best o' luck my friend!

  • @winchellproductions another producer that hates Live, IM NOT ALONE :D

  • Great review. How well does this unit work with Reaper?

  • @drum4life42 I think it will be able to be used as a midi controller but as far as programming knobs and play, stop, record goes, your on our own... They don't have a direct link for it that I know of. :(

  • @drum4life42 I think it will be able to be used as a midi controller but as far as programming knobs and play, stop, record goes, your on our own... They don't have a direct link for it that I know of. :(

  • wat program are you using ? in the vid?

  • @kylebike128 cubase 5

  • can i have desfacing with this keyboard ? my sound card is m-audio 2496

  • Is it any different from the 49 key functions and features wise? Also how does this compare with Axiom 25? I'm an abelton beginner user and I want use this for producing techno.

  • I realy wanna buy a midi keyboard to make dubstep with... Somone know about something to buy? Please answear :)

P.S Awsome vid ill sub and like

  • @DeathLife2000 yeah you're gonna need one with super turbo wobble dubstep bass button i'm afraid.

  • What's the program he's using?

  • @TristynFoley Cubass 5

  • hi guys! i have a m audio25 oxygen whit garageband how can map for???? thanks for help

  • nice video cheers man was really helpfull, think im gonna buy it :P

  • this only comes with the controller no software so its not ready to go out of the box?you need your own software already?

  • @deathmast403 it comes with a light version of Ableton live I believe. I have used it before and its ok but the light version is just that. Light on features...

  • whats the diff between this one and like a 4 or 500 dollar one. Is it just more keys?

  • does it work on macs and with reason?

  • Whats the difference with de 2nd Version?¿

  • So glad I found this! I was going to buy the Q49 from Alesis but this is cheaper and better and has plenty more features!

    farrrrkyeeeeea!

  • i assume it doesn't work with fl studio, the direct link?

  • @TheNAVC Actually, with FL studio 10 there is a preset in FL studio midi settings for the oxygen 25! :)

  • @winchellproductions I have FL studio pro 9.

Would it work with that version? If not is there something I can download to have it work?

  • @notabear1 yup, check out my other videos, i have one showing you how to set it up.

  • I heard it has little memory in it so you can add some sounds to it ? then play without using computer ?

  • @HaatoSK Then you heard wrong... LOL No such thing on this model

  • Good Review. No doubt!

  • cool...hey can I use ezdrummer with the keys as well as the pads and can I sample onto the pads other drum sounds and also sample onto the keys, and then play drums that way..thanks

  • ive got my oxygen 25 plugged in with the usb, but it wont turn on. what am i missing?

  • I'm thinking of getting this thing & new to home recording. Are those sounds presets in the midi or through Cubase? cuz I use garageband and I wanna have an array of different sounds! thanks :)

  • @chumps613 Sounds are in Garageband only, or Cubase. Not actually in the keyboard. It only Controls the sounds in the computer. Check out my other videos, i have a beginner vid you might enjoy. :-)

  • do you need dedicated sound card with this or just plug and play? also you can still play higher octaves right by just switching? so what will you press to switch?

  • @Jed9133 No dedicated sound card needed and yup, just hit transpose up or down to change octive

  • What's the latency like? Do you think I could use it with logic live?

  • Do you know if it works with Garageband??? Cheers :)

  • sabes si trabaja con soundboth de adobe?

  • excelente video!, acabo de comprarme uno. gracias, espero ver mas videos pronto!!!

  • Does this work with pro tools se

  • @DJRockstarbaby I think so...

  • IMHO 25 keys are useful only for 2-fingers producers. Those people that already play piano/keyboards and need a secondary, cheap, decent, playable and portable master keyboard should buy the 49 keys version.

This tiny things are ruining decent music

  • I want this keyboard!!!! Its a USB device right? dont need a midi input? I'm using the M-Audio Fastrack MK2,(NO MIDI IN) so this combination will work fine right? Guys let me know! Thanks

  • @Laceygirl2009 Yup! USB and should work right beside your fast track! No MIDI cables needed. :-)

  • @winchellproductions

OMW yes! I ordered 1 from JHB! should be here within the week!!!! get ready for the most awesome macro mapped wobbles EVER! (to be created by the gracefulness of a woman)

    Thanks

  • @Laceygirl2009 Cool! Just subscribed to ya, looking forward to hearing em. ;-) Keep it up girl!

  • @Laceygirl2009 Yeah, it's a USB. One negative feature is that it dosen't work via MIDI cables, but for the price, it's a great starter module.

  • it works with pro tools right?

  • @deathmast403 It does!

  • looks tight thanks for the tut bro.

  • i bought mine today that didnt come with software...where should i look for some or was i supose to get some with it?

  • @ZACKnirvana Not sure if it came with any. Thought it came with Ableton live but not sure... I'd try FL studio demo for free to get started, or check out Ableton Live demo. Just google em. They wont let you save songs to work on em later... but you can export your songs to recreate later! I have a video for setting up in FL too, check my page. Peace!

  • @ZACKnirvana buy pro tools

  • @deathmast403 how much

  • @ZACKnirvana it depends on what version of protools you want . you can look on guitar center

  • will this work with reason 4?

  • @M1Dairsoft any midi keyboard should work with reason 4

  • 1:11 - those track buttons are pretty useful, however I can`t make them work with FL studio...

  • @psensor Yeah... will not work in FL...

  • @winchellproductions but the product its self will work with fl studio right??

  • would you say its a good product?

  • @EnglishCuppa Yup! worth every penny!!!

  • @EnglishCuppa this keyboard does not have built in sound, its obvious because its a 100% MIDI keyboard, in other words, this is a pure slave keyboard, so its only useable when hooked up with a software like the amazing stienberg series.

  • @zinc4life thanks man :) i just got the korg radius instead i know theres a big price difference but it worth every penny :) but i was looking at this in the shop and you can buy a memory card with it that has extra sounds and samples e.g. if you press the C chord it'll say "my" then D chord "name" E, "is", F "Skrillex" :) i know thats a song but just useing it as an example :)

  • ey there! I recently just bought the M-audio Oxygen... I want to know how you link it to your DAW from scratch... Im using Cubase as well... Can Anyone help me please? Thank you so much

  • Hey there! I recently just bought the M-audio Oxygen... I want to know how you link it to your DAW from scratch... Im using Cubase as well... Can Anyone help me please? Thank you so much!

  • the different sounds comes from cubase or the M-Audio ? The M-Audio have presaved sound ? If yes, can you change them with cubase ? thanks

  • @coolwarrock no, no sounds in keyboard. They are in cubase

  • @winchellproductions Oh ok ! so what means the red numbers on the keyboard ? =) ty !

  • @coolwarrock ? red numbers?

  • Nice review... you answered one of my questions. I was curious about the patch switching.... but you answered that... so my next question is does the oxygen have the instrument vst pop up option? I know the axiom model has an actual switch you can hold and the vst will pop up. Does the oxygen have that feature as well? I'm looking into getting the axiom 49 or oxygen 61. Basically I'm deciding on more keys or better model.

  • @KGIproductions I dont think the oxygen has that feature... I didnt even know the axiom could do that! I have the axiom 61 too! (not the pro model) the pro might be the one that does that...

  • @winchellproductions Well, it's the axiom 2nd gen models that can do that. Thanks for the response.

  • did the sounds come pre loaded in cubase? or were you running them as direct link from FL?

  • @MrPaddymulcahy Preloaded in cubase

  • Does this work with LMMS?

  • @JAM3SYY LMMS??? Whats that?

  • @winchellproductions Linux mulimedia studio man. Fantastic Music production software i reckon it is actually better then ableton and fruity loops put together. Has the same loops plus more and an easier interface.

  • @JAM3SYY I would but I love cubase 5... It would be a big move too. I use a few VST's I'm fond of too... I did try it once and got stuck in the routing part. JACK or whatever confused the crap out of me... LOL

  • @Gorg5321 it is when you buy an interface that comes bundled with it. But its only the LE version. Its limited in some ways.

  • what program do u use to record/ capture your presentation. im looking for a good screen capture programs, that has the picture inside picture.

  • @rudeboys28712 Camtasia! Works great!

  • damn ya reviews are so clear! thanx dude, you convinced me to buy the oxygen 25.

Keep up the good work man

  • @TBThaButcher Thanks! Dont forget to subscribe so you can see the newest videos when I post them. Peace!

  • @TBThaButcher what do you think of it? im thinking of getting one, but it'l be my first midi keyboard. pro's/cons?

  • @ISN1P3DI Hey man, I think its wonderfull. Really! I enjoy the compact model since I wanna be able to carry it when im on vacation or just wanna create beats at a friends house. and I dont mind the 'only 25 key' thing since it has a 'octave higher and lower button'. I mostly create hiphop beats so I really dont need al the keys at the same time. The only trouble I have is using the 8 nobs (upper right) in logic. but damn it really beats using your keyboard.

  • @ISN1P3DI I use the oxygen on my macbook with logic and its so easy and just fun to create. I you have more questions just reply to me or send me a pm. Its all good. btw i bought mine at thomann dot de (im dutch) but the cheapest I could find.

  • @TBThaButcher ok thanks :) any cons'? from what ive heard it seams near perfect.

  • @ISN1P3DI To be honest, I cant find any cons, its easy to set up, no delay, the volume depense on the pressure you use on the oxygen, its the cheapest of the m audio class. Its only compact, for some thats a con, for me its a big plus. Ow and its usb powered so no extra adapter A con could be that its ubs and not firewire, but I have 0 delay with usb, so thats not an issue.

  • @TBThaButcher sounds awesome, its going on the top of my to get list ;P

  • That was actually a pretty catchy beat dude, keep it up!

  • @koolzombie Thanks!

  • seriously considering this, would you say this works well in Cubase 5 overall as I see you're using that in this video. thanks and great review :)

  • what softwar were you using in this video? is it your faveorite? if not what is? thanks :)

  • @boardingguitarman I'm using Cubase 5. I love it!!! I also use FL studio and Reason. FL is a close second to Cubase for me.

  • if you can please response to this account, not 'exbogdanela'i made a mistake when i post the comment, thanks a lot

  • @CadillacProduction In the transport bar there is a "click" track you need to enable to hear the tempo. I wish I could help you but it seems you really havent used Cubase much. It would be extremely hard for me to explain everything. If you click on the help tab at the top of cubase you will find a "getting started" file and a "Manual" you can read. I suggest you read the getting started before you even start trying anything. It will help tremendously! Then skim through the manual a bit. Peace!

  • hello man ,i would like you to help me with something if you can ....i just bought an oxygen 25 and i can't make that cubase working just like yours,i can't put the Vst's in it,your setup's are amazing, and mine are just weak, and one thing, how can i make that recording sound to work?it will help me so much, thanks for listening

  • u are great man..!!

u r doing a great job which M-Audio should do..!!

very simple and easy way of presentation..!!

  • @iwouldgiveutheworld I would... I have the Axiom 61 for home and the Oxygen 25 for travel and stuff. If you can afford it, go for the 61. You'll be glad you did later on, trust me!

  • @iwouldgiveutheworld go for the 49. The extra keys pays off trust me! Unless your going for the "portable" factor.

  • @iwouldgiveutheworld If you got money to blow and want all the features, go for the Axiom. It has more features. If your low income or on a budget, go for the Oxygen. It has most of the features you would need. But all in all they are very similar. If you can scroung up the extra dough, get the Axiom... Just a better controller.

  • just got mine today yeeeehaaaa fooo gonna set it up now

  • Dose it come with all the sounds in it? Or do you have to download them from website?

  • @MrDisambiguation No sounds... Its controls software based sounds

  • @winchellproductions Hmm thought so, thank you

  • @ZakLMusic Yes, your right. Velocity sensitive...

  • im really thinking on getting this keyboard!!!

  • Great Video im thinking about buying this midi.... Does it work with Reason 4?

    Thanks

  • @Acapone Yup!

  • Comment removed

  • Hey man,I was thinking about getting either the Oxygen 25 or Oxygen 49 but not sure which way exactly..I like the 49 for the fact that it also has the 9 Faders plus the extra keys but obviously the 25 is cheaper and portable, but the portability factor is not an issue for me..So the question I have is,on the 25,is it possible to link the knobs to the 'Faders' on FL Studios mixer instead of the 'Pan'? I have also got a Padkontrol on order but want midi keyboard for basslines and melodies! Thanks

  • @Sherbertify came in the "direct link" file I talk about. Its on the M-Audio website.

  • Thanks for posting it up

  • hey bro, thanks for awesome review, at least someone knows what's he doing.

  • @StanthemanTran I own the axiom 61 too. I like it over the Oxygen just because its got drum pads and aftertouch. I got the oxygen for cheap and it fits in my backpack... The axiom 61 sits in the studio.

  • de donde descargaste esos samples? esta buenisimos

  • hi! i have a little question for you and i think you can help me with that. if i buy the oxygen 25 can i use it with the akai mpd18?? and well how can i get the sound with a good quality out of my computer to a speaker ? what should be used for? thanks!

  • @Armandofm90 The Oxygen 25 should work along side the MPD nicely! As for getting the best sound out of your computer, Try the ASIO4ALL driver (free download, just google it) or an external soundcard (Audio interface) like the "M-box" or the "Tascam US122L" or something. I use a Presonus FP10 interface, I like it!

    Peace!

    Hope this helped!

  • @overandout58 I think you might be able to get it "working" but I am not sure if you can get the play, stop, rec, mod wheel ect... Just the keys... But again, don't take my word for it. I haven't tried Cakewalk GP3 with it...

    Good luck

  • Which program do you think is best for the oxygen25? Ableton, cubase, Fl studio or Reason??? i just purchased my oxygen, and i have Acid pro7, not to user friendly.

  • If your just making beats I think Reason or Cubase work GREAT with the Oxygen

  • good job! does this have aftertouch?

  • no... no aftertouch.

  • Finally someone that plays :D Thanks!

  • nice video, i like the way we can see Cubase and you talking with the keyboard.

One question though: does this power up with the USB cable? Or do you need a power adaptor plugged in to use it?

  • Thanks bro! Yup, it powers off the USB port so no wall wart (power cord) required! But if you use it without a computer and run it to your sound module you can buy the power adapter seperately. PEace!

  • great stuff ! I have FL Studio 9, will it work with that?? Sorry to bombard you with questions, i just want to make sure it works before i buy it.

  • Yup! I have a video on my page to set it up in FL 9. :-) If you end up buying it online, I have a link to the right of this video. Zzounds is a trust worthy site to purchase from and they have the lowest prices too!

  • Thank you for this demo

  • Thanks

looking forward to more great stuff from you.

  • Comment removed

  • can you like use it for synth live?

  • Yup, as long as its connected to a computer. It does not have "sounds" loaded on it, you must use it to "control" sounds that are loaded on your computer.

  • ok thanks!

  • my bad how do you link it up to cubase sx3

  • I will try to make another vid on setting it up in cubase SX3 soon, Subscribe to my channel and you'll be notified as soon as its up!

    PEACE!

  • how to you link it to cubase i have cubase sx3

  • I have another video on my page for cubase 5, you should be able to just create a "generic controller" and assign the input and output to "oxygen 25"

    Good luck!

    Peace!

  • hey winchell, great tutorial !

Am considering this but think i read its not windowsxp (home) compatible ?

what version of windows are you running here ?

how easy/ hard was it to set up the controller with cubase ? i have a very early version of cubase SX 2.2 or something ;-/

cant seem to find info on whether the 25 is compatible with such an early version of cubase ?

  • Thanks! It is compatable with XP, just need to install the drivers. It will work in cubase 2.2 but you will not have it pre-programmed to use the play/stop/rec/knobs... only in cubase 4 and 5 does it link up perfectly...

  • Running windows 7 on the laptop in this vid, My main rig runs Vista. Works great on both!

  • @winchellproductions

ok, it was the play/stop/rec functions i was really interested in !

ill keep checking back for new stuff ;-)

    thanks.

  • Subscribe to my channel and you'll be alerted whenever I post another vid . I am going to be doing another one on Sunday I think. Any suggestions for a topic?

  • hey winchell, how about a tutorial on recording a stereo signal into cubase ???

i searched the web and couldn't find a decent one ?

    cheers

  • I can do that. I will post it up as soon as its finished. :-)

  • how do u get rid of delay? i have a .5 seccond delay in mine

  • You need to change the driver to ASIO4ALL. unless you have a external sound device. If you have external audio card, use its drivers. What software are you recording in?

  • Hi! Nice review, thanks. I want this product. How you think, is it good to makes drums and bass guitar by FL Studio?

  • I am still trying to get the transport controls to work. (Play, stop, rec, FF, RW, and loop) For some reason its a pain to set up. I have an email into M-Audio to see how I can set it up. I heard it is possible to do. But all the other controls work great In FL you can just right click and link to controller. Once I get the controls working I might post another video on how to set it up in FL studio.

    PEACE!

  • Hey, I just posted another video showing you how to link the transport controls in FL studio! Took me a few to figure it out but now it works great!!!

  • ur FLstudio video is awesome..!!

    thanks alot.

can u tell me how i can control the transport buttons in nuendo3?

  • I'm gonna try and do one for Cubase SX3 (same as Nuendo3 settings) soon. If you subscribe to my channel you will be notified when its up.

    PEACE!

  • Hi! Great review, thanks. I want this product. How you think - is it good to makes drums and guitar bass by FL Studio?

  • hey man this works with garageband on a MAC right? please get back to me cause i want to buy this

  • I just checked M-audio's site and Yes! It works perfectly with Garageband and logic on a mac! You will just have to download a file from the m-audio website and install it. If you need help just shoot me a message! PEACE!

  • Thanks! Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. :-) PEACE!
