  • thanks very much

  • check my 3ds tutorials out - i am a 3D university student

  • How did you get those controller boxes for the windows for a 3ds Max 9 SP2?

  • @tUBEwATCHER890 what controller boxes?

  • @Alusaint

The little boxes inside of each viewport. Where you can angle the model inside the perspective view. The little boxes tell you which view you're in.

  • @tUBEwATCHER890 they were there all the time try going to viewport properties and make sure viewcube is on

  • how do you combine multiple textures

  • @wapeddell photoshop

  • Nice one man, good tutorial :-) thanks

  • hi, wen i click on the UVW edit, the window is blank i cant see no grid nor any vertex or polys its just completly blank , plz help

  • lool nice dude :) thanx

  • @Suprem3Gamer anytime plz subscrfibe

  • How do you get the texture in the materials module? Cause i used checker but i need it to be a sphere

  • @imperialmodder just drag your picture to any material slot. Subscribe if you havent already too.

  • @Alusaint but i have sphere model and the material wont drag onto it?

  • @imperialmodder just watch my video

(3ds max realistic hair tutorial using opacity maps and diffuse)

but skip to 0:48 and it shows you what to do.

  • How do you get the texture in the materials module?

  • "Ctrl A" selects all. Much faster than dragging and u don't have to worry about missing faces.

  • thank you very much!

  • @LalParitskiy anytime

  • Pelt mapping is better solution for this kind of texturing, however thanks for the tutorial

  • Great tutorial subscribed :-) and yeah does look like a woman lol jk nice job

  • thanks bro

  • hey thanks man, just needed a quick tutorial on how to flatten the face for uvw and u did it thanks again for your help.

  • anytime man.

  • helpful tutorial! nice work...

  • thanks bro please subscribe.

  • great!!!

    it helps a lot.

but i got a proble. whan i apply the modifier. and click in reset, the cilyndrical giszmo just disapear.

  • did u click on fit try that or watch the video again to make sure thats what i did. please subscribe.

  • i´ll try again later. thanx.

    you got anoter subscr

  • ok thanks for subscribing.

  • the tutorial is useful but not great..still u gotta work on certain areas when u unwrap the faces like relaxing the areas that are overlaping and more,,, without it u wont be able to apply a complex texture if u know what i mean... but anyways thanks

  • thank 4 the comment but i know this tutorial isnt the best bescuase my screen recorder was so slow and it would take like an hour just move one vert and if it tries 2 move too many at one time the program would crash.

  • oh yeah did u subscribe

  • Excellent tutorial, the best I've seen yet.

I have had two professors that couldn't teach this in the simplified manner that you did.

In fact I still don't understand a word they said.

Be most blessed. You have helped many. And yes I have subscribed.

  • thanks dude.

  • I kinda´LOVE you... I was stressed like a mad person trying to know how to do this. Thanks dude!

  • thank you so much, i thought uvw mapping was so hard untill now, this is a life saver thanks so much man you rock!!

  • anytime bro.

  • for the tut

  • anytime man.

  • thanks

  • please subscribe also.

  • Very good tutorial, your models are good too. Just wanted to tell you that when you use cylindrical uvw unwrapping, If you open the window and look at your model 2:11 You can go into your modifier stack and hit the "+" next to Unwrap UVW and click where it says "Gizmo", you can rotate and don't have to bother with breaking and welding it back. Just wanted to let you know, watching anyone weld all those little cornres is painful :P

  • thanks i will try because i hate vertex welding.

  • Yeah, It's a vicious process

  • thanks ,nice tute~!

  • thanks subscribe!!

  • Hey. I got another problem. Is their any easy way to flatten what you made even more? Cuz when I texture the mouth or sertain parts of the body, some polygons overlap. And when I try to texture it, I get the wrong colors on the inside of the mouth.

  • nah not really i never modeled an animal

just humans but all i can tell you is to try to move the verts around post a video on it and i can see if i can help you.

  • but when you do the ears, isnt some parts of it overlayed on the map?

  • yeah i know but i dont texture my ears since it already has its shape.

  • ohh. dang, well i asked on a forum so hopefully i get a reply soon

  • sorry bro im not that good at 3d modeling

but i still have a lot to learn.

  • very nice tutorial im makin a model of my head so this will help did u buy photoshop?

  • Nice tutorial. What recording program did you use?

  • thanks and i used camstasia.

  • oh sorry, one more XD

how would i put the map into photoshop? and then how would i put the texture/skin i make back into the model?

  • in the uvw modifier click edit in the right bottom right tab then at the top of the edit uvw screen click tools and then click

    render uvw template.

  • Oh My God! Thanks You So Much!! idk why other tutorials don't explain it as well as you did. (this looks a lot like some of the tutorials i've paid for, you should concider doing that :D )

but i just have one last question! it shouldnt be too hard,

is there a special way of texturing a model that isnt only a head? like my husky has everything on it (head, body, legs, tail, etc).

like should i detach certain parts, or do something else to it? or just work with how it is now?

    THANKS MAN!

  • anytime bro and the body legs and tail works the same way as the head does its all just mesh but you dont have to dettach

just into editable poly and and go to material id and select the polygons you want to seperate for example select the

head ans set id as one and select the body and set id as 2 try that.

  • i think i already d tht for a different tutorial that i was following but gave up on.

ok cool, so i got that. ill try it out and see how it works!

    Thanks again!

  • anytime!!
