what the hell did you trade Baby Jesus for? Love Pineda, but a lot more likely that Montero will be around longer... With the possibility of a Cy Young type career, I can at least say with some pride, I got to see in person Pineda win a game as a Mariner.
The Mariners just traded Michael Pineda to the Yankees for Jesus Montero...reminiscent of when the Yankees traded Jay Buhner (1988) to Seattle for Ken Phelps. Here are Bones numbers when he was traded - 32 games, 3 HRs, 14 RBIs. Here are Monteros numbers for last year - 18 games, 4 HRs, 12 RBIs...Only time will tell...
@BlutoUSN Big difference: this time Yanks are trading for a 6-7 flamethrowing pitcher who was one of the best rookie pitchers last season and has potential to be an ace
@BlutoUSN Win-win for both teams as both dealt from position of strength to get what they needed. Pineda is the riskier side of the deal with possible arm issues, you know Montero is going to mash. Only questions are how his power will translate to Safeco and what position he'll play. Yanks fan and I feel bad about losing a huge prospect, but they're both better teams now
Police put on black uniforms to intimidate us. They have already given up on manipulating the people because they know people are waking up, but some people still don't know what the problem is. We need to arrest the bankers to get our country back. If you don't know what I'm talking about look up these words: "private Federal Reserve"

@BenGriffithsReviews This is Frank Costanza... You think you can keep us outta Florida?! We're moving in Lock, Stock, and Barrels! We're gonna be in the pool... we're gonna be in the clubhouse! We're gonna be all over that shuffle board court! AND I DARE YOU TO KEEP ME OUT!

ive met people who dont like this show, and they are simply too stupid and will indeed go to hell one day. lol best show ever, only one in the same league is curb your enthusiasm.
I was 8 when my parents started watching Seinfeld, I'm now 30 and I have seen every episode, most of them when new at 9pm Thursdays on NBC through the hundreds upon hundreds of times Ive seen the reruns. Its been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and its still hysterical to this day.
I catch new jokes every time I watch the show. Frank Costanza is hands down the best character on the show. "I stopped short!"
I remember one of the first games Buhner played for the Yankees. He made a perfect throw from the deep outfield to home plate without a bounce. He came up to the Yankees and drew attention in ways similar to Bernie Williams later on. I couldn't believe it when I heard he was traded.
"you sure you're talking about george" "you don't know what the hell you're doing" "george is dead, call me back"... 3 hilarious lines in the space of 42 seconds, and they were like that for nearly a decade, the reason why seinfeld is the greatest sitcom ever
I remember when Ken Phelps was traded for some weird guy named Buhner. I was happy to get rid of this Phelps guy, but wasn't so sure if we're getting anything in return. Now I take it all back hahanydiehaha. - Seattle Mariners Fan For Life
for the first :15 seconds watch Frank, it's like he's literally biting his own tounge but then he just can't hold it in anymore. Jerry Stiller is a comedic genius.
hahah the best part of this is when you watch Frank Costanza for the entire clip... he is swaying from side to side looking like he is in emotional pain about George... then u realise he is actually fuming up about the yankees hahahaahha
this might very well be my favorite seinfeld moment of all time. Frank shaking his head in disbelief as Steinbrenner informs them of their son's demise and the realization of the true source of his anguish as he screams "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU TRADE JAY BUHNER FOR?!" I laugh out loud to this day whenever I simply think of this scene.
Jay Buhner was (and still is) beloved by all of Seattle. Moreover, the Mariners' front office is renowned for being perhaps the worst in the history of baseball. Getting Buhner must have been an accident, but a happy one.
@geetarman13 what's wrong with seattle?...(other than the mariners not getting their shit together for the majority of their existance [i say that with love, M's...with love]). otherwise, seattle is a fuckin awesome city
Going back it came down to a bad decision in 92 and a couple injuries around that same time. M's had the hitting and one starter but never got the second starter to go with Randy because Erik Hanson and Brian Holman's careers got Tommy John'd. Put a bit of an unlucky injury to Moyer in the 97 playoffs (and our pen took half an inning to blow his lead) and that's why. Couple in trading our pen for Kevin Mitchell and we never had the bullpen to go all the way.
I respect team loyality and I appreciate true Mariner fans but I don't take well to 'Yankees suck' from a team that has been dominated by mine for the last 14 years. I mean since the 1995 ALDS it's been curtains.
