TBH grease didnt have a good going. they didnt have 3 movies. their 2nd one was dumb. BUT high school musical 1 and 2 and 3. were great movies. they did different things going throughout the whole series. they had the SAME actors in all THREE movies. NONE changed. SO high school musical is BETTER !

I say they're both exactly the same except Grease is more sexual and approaches teenage life at the lowest - very head-on - and they swear a heap. It's all the stuff that happens while outside of school while High School Musical approaches school activities with hardly any of it set anywhere else. I haven't seen High School Musical but I doubt it's still going to be popular 30 years from now like Grease. Also, if it's Disney I doubt there are lyrics like those in Greased Lightning, "...it's a real pussy wagon."( I remember thinking, what did he just sing?) But as much as I liked Zac Efron in Hairspray(great movie, by the way) you really can't beat a young John Travolta or those classic songs.
