I was 17 when this game was played and it still hurts to watch how Wash man-handled Dallas in such a big game. Philly did the same thing to Dallas two years before but that was a loss for which the players should still be ashamed. There was no shame in this loss because the 'Skins were three times the team Dallas was. In this game the torch, as beaten up as it had become via the previous two NFC title losses, was finally put out. Like it or not, Skins always beat us when it mattered most.damn

The Skins after winning championships three times from 82-91 have fallen on hard times. They have won 1 division title since 91, a total of 17 years. Judging by what you have now, get used to it. Meanwhile Dallas has quietly won 2 division titles in 3 years and have 5 straight winning seasons. And oh yeah we just drafted the best receiver since Moss last April.

Great, great day in Redskin history. Sadly my Grandmother's funeral was earlier in the day. I with some cousin's of mine was a pall bearer. While carrying the casket my cousin said to me "Going to be a hell of a shootout today." Absolutely nothing sexy about 44's running. His cuts were slow and his agility was nothing. Even switching from the offset-I to the I-formation (0:45) looked like a chore. But my God could the man run straight. Imagine trying to stop a runaway beer truck with arm tackles. His first step was as fast as his last and the man JUST DIDN'T GO DOWN! New Redskins fans wonder why the old guard is such a diehard group. Watch a few hours of Gibbs-Hogs-Diesel offense and see why.
@JustHere4Kicks - Riggins ran a 9.6 100 yard dash in high school. Not very sexy but I'm sure he got his share of pusil. Riggo rented part of a guy's farm near Culpeper VA to go hunting and slept in a pup tent in late winter. The owner reported that every 5 minutes or so a beer can would come flying out of the tent. A great runner and what a character! Maybe not sexy but one hell of a football player. You must admit he did have a bit of flair without being a hot dog.

He moves the chains and controls the game. Barry Sanders doesn't do that!"

Great, great day in Redskin history. Sadly my Grandmother's funeral was earlier in the day. I with some cousin's of mine was a pall bearer. While carrying the casket my cousin said to me "Going to be a hell of a shootout today." It brought some levity to a sad occasion and the entire family bonded after while watching Riggo and company put the Cowboys in a casket.

Absolutely nothing sexy about 44's running. His cuts were slow and his agility was nothing. Even switching from the offset-I to the I-formation (0:45) looked like a chore. But my God could the man run straight. Imagine trying to stop a runaway beer truck with arm tackles. His first step was as fast as his last and the man JUST DIDN'T GO DOWN! New Redskins fans wonder why the old guard is such a diehard group. Watch a few hours of Gibbs-Hogs-Diesel offense and see why.

Riggo rented part of a guy's farm near Culpeper VA to go hunting and slept in a pup tent in late winter. The owner reported that every 5 minutes or so a beer can would come flying out of the tent. A great runner and what a character! Maybe not sexy but one hell of a football player. You must admit he did have a bit of flair without being a hot dog.

There is an interview with Jim Brown on youtube and he and 3 or four guys are discussing the great backs since Brown. Somebody mentions Barry Sanders and Brown says "How about John Riggins ?" He moves the chains and controls the game. Barry Sanders doesn't do that!"
