  • i love your style.. and small jokes. :) thankyou for sharing. I love this receipe! :) mmmmm!!!

  • can you make this using a crockpot instead of all the pans and steps?

  • It looks like one could feed entire family but does one have to do it in so many steps? Why cook bacon for example? Not only takes ages to prepare but also costs a fortune to cook, especially if you have to use so many pans, fry everything separately, and then cook it 4 hrs ... I hope it's worth all this effort ...

  • why did you add salt? that looks so good

  • Can I use a bobble-head Buddha instead?

  • Hello, what kind of "bacon" did you say you used?

  • this looks delicious but..I just watched a video of Julia Child making Boeuf Bourguignon and she didnt do it like this?? did you make your own little changes?...................wanna eat this so badly right now!!!! : )

  • This is NOT Boeuf Bourguignon. OMG!

    Stay away from that recipe.

  • why bacon? and why fry it in oil?

  • Very nice. I soak bacon in water before using that instead of lardon. Splatters are such a mess, aren't they? My recipe is similar to yours with a few tweeks. Hope you'll take a look sometime. Beef stew is a great dish that tastes even better as left overs the next day. Thanks for a great video!

  • This is the best video recipe i've seen on this so far. It looks sooo yummy, omg! I cannot wait to try this, and i absolutely LOVE cooking, so i see all the steps as being fun!

  • Zombie-Julia Childs will hunt you down, sautee your brain, and eat it with some nice roasted potatoes.

  • do you have to use musuhrooms? will it change the taste if you dont? i really hate mushrooms they make me gag and can u use small onions instead of the big shallots

  • @bubbleface95 I'm sure mushrooms do add taste, however if they make you gag, definitely don't use them. I actually used the small white onions. I'm sure you can cut big white or even yellow onions. Adapt and make it your own.

  • like the recipe, but my only complaint would be to simplify........so people at home can make it without getting lost in all of the unessesary steps

1 dont boil bacon start in olive oil until crispy remove

2 add beef brown remove(dust with flour for the thickening agent)

3 add onions carrots celery(mirepoix you know)

4 deglaze burgandy, reduce by ½ add equal parts beef stock

add herbs spices b2b rts(bring to boil/reduce to simmer) so on and so forth....... either way you did a great job!!

  • @aamcsween I definitely simplified it when i made it again. I just wanted to do it from the Julia Child recipe I found, see if I could do it. The taste is a little different when simplified but its the price you pay, right :-)

  • you know i saw the film by accident and i saw the boeuf bourguignon scene. Ever since i watch this video every time i make a B.B. as a guide. Thnx for uploading this amazingly helpful video. Keep it up and more power.

  • well well well, when i see this i understand why WE are the best for cooking. this is the worst boeuf bourguignon i ever seen

  • arg ,oil, oil and oil...its not a bourguignon...and i m french....it s horrible vidéo

  • arg ,oil, oil and oil...its not a bourguignon...and i m french....

  • OMG your so adorable. I love love love this video. Thanks so much for taking the time to post it.

  • that was a very helpful video, thank you for sharing. The recipe in the book had me confused a little but this is awesome :)

  • The bobble head Jesus makes the video!

  • on the right where? you mentioned we can access therecipe but i don't know what you're talking about...sorry. help please. :)

  • @SarmaticusMaximus sorry about that. I'll put the website in the description

  • Hi,

Can you e-mail me the recipe?

I REALLY want to do this !! Ha(:

  • @PrettyLittleLiarsFa1 i'll put it in the description. sorry about that

  • your personality added so much to this video and made it enjoyable to watch, i now am actually willing to attempt this difficult recipe.

  • uhhh whats the point in straining it

  • @snowblazer12 to reduce the liquid to condense the flavor

  • @peterrabbit31 but it doesnt condense the flavor...cuz there are stil liquids in the stock/sauce and more flavor in the stuff you strained out.

  • I also just finished watching Julie & Julia and i'm so in the mood to cook this recipe I'm French and in France we don't add the braised onions and mushrooms at the end FYI (for the viewers) but your recipe looks soooo good, i'm gonna try it !! Congrats on the cooking and thanks a lot for the video !! Keep it up !!

  • This is not a french Boeuf Bourguignon, this is a American way Boeuf Bourguignon.

  • @elgattinodibarcelona Yeah, the spelling is american too :p

  • I just made this tonight. Whew talk about alot of work. My husband loved it but I was too exhausted to eat. I don't think I want to cook for at least a week now.

  • Thank you for posting the how to for this recipe, it was informative and fun to watch! I will definitely keep an eye out for your other videos.

  • hey is red cooking wine ok and no backon

  • I'd bring in the Bobble-head Jesus to bless the skin on my arms and face, lest I need skin grafts from all that hot oil flying around in the kitchen. Sheesh! Delicious recipe though, and very skillfully made by you. Nice job!

  • I was DROOLING. That looks so good! It came out a LOT better than mine did.

  • I skipped the straining step by adding extra flour. by about 3 hours of baking it was done but i reduced it too far.

  • I cooked this dish this evening for my family and it was absolutely delicious...your video was amazing and helped a ton! Thank you, and Bon Appetit!

  • loved the recipe but i felt like i put on 2 pounds just by watching all that butter and oil. thats french cooking for ya, yum

  • What a perfect video! Thanks for posting it. Will be trying this within the next day or two. I hope mine comes out as beautiful as yours. :)

  • @LakotaLily Thanks! I hope yours turned out well. I really want to make this again.

  • what is that brown syrupy stuff when you put in the onions and carrots?

  • @sophiahb at 7:00? that's the sauce that I strained and reduced after cooking the beef in the oven for 2 hours.

  • I agree with the person who said this was the best Boeuf Bourgignon recipe they'd seen on here, I really enjoyed watching this and now I'm hungry! Thanks for posting this! =-)

  • @wdgbirmingham2 thanks. i appreciate it. it was definitely better the next day and as I ate it during the week as left overs.

  • I've made this twice since the movie came out, and it is such a long process, but the results were worth all of that. And it really does taste better the next day. Anyway, I love the video. I just love watch the process of braising meat, I don't why!

  • Best Boeuf Bourguignon video recipe I've watched here. And I've watched several

  • @SirPlainview thanks a lot

  • Everytime i watch Julie and Julia I just want to learn how to make this.

  • It fits for how many people?

  • @SirPlainview you know, i'm really not sure. I had lots of left overs that i ate all week.

  • @SirPlainview It serves 6 people.

    Linda

  • Cute video! Looks yummy!

  • wow your kitchen's clean!

  • That looked delicious :-)

  • Oh God bless you. Or should I say, Bobblehead-Jesus bless you. I pass up recipes that have so many steps so I appreciate when someone takes the time. It certainly looked well worth it.

  • PS: TOTALLY diggin the music ;) LOL

  • thanks. i got it off of a royalty free music site. I can't remember what it's called but it has a TON of music. i have it bookmarked on my computer at home. i'll look it up when i get home tonight.

  • LMFAO @ "Go get yourself a bobble head Jesus". HAHAHHA! Too funny! -- That looks SOOO yummy!!

  • Wow- Most professional looking cooking video I've seen on YouTube! You are so talented! I bet the grocery stores sell a lot of beef and wine this week! LOL!

  • aww thanks. i noticed roasts were on sale at kroger for $1.99/lb this week. I was thinking of getting one just because it was so cheap.

  • Awesome, Myranda! Looks fabulous. Loved the music, and you sound great.

  • I too loved the movie Julie/Julia. Well done but it looks like alot of work, was it delicous?

  • i have to admit. i was so tired afterwards that I put it on the lowest setting and went to bed. I woke up 5 hours later to a house filled with the smell of the stew. it was SOOO good. It definitely gets better the next day. I'm going to have to freeze it because it's a lot for just one person.

  • @saphre1964 me too, i think i'm going to keep him around for future videos

  • Wow, that looks really intense and good showing all the steps to cook this, I am afraid after you pour the wine into the sauce, I would be sipping some along the way...:). I love that movie, I think Meryl Streep did a great job being Julia.

  • Love the bobble-head Jesus!

    Donna:)
