Eye witnesses are used everyday in court rooms around the world. Now, the NT Gospels were written by four eye witnesses from four different perspectives and you simply disregard them. What I want to see is the proof that all the creationists claim that exists. I have heard many people say "There's tons of proof that God exists!" without actually ever offering anything up to back them up. Scientific method says that it's up to the person making the claim to prove it's true not the other way around. So where's the proof? Bible doesn't count

In an interview with the guy from the Dinosaurs-Adam and Eve Museum, he said that if the timeline of the Old Testament is proven wrong, the foundation of Christianity is shattered. To me, the foundation of Christianity is the divinity of Christ, the expiation of our sins, and salvation of our souls thru his sacrifice. The age of the earth is meaningless in the face of that.   • @TheAmericanRifleman And by "Deals with" in Cosmology I simply meant "studies." And indeed, cosmologists do come up against a "What created the Big Bang?" issue, or, upon answering that, the same question in a modified form, and so on to infinity.  I doubt there's an answer to the question of the Cause of a causal universe. Answers like, "A singularity that was always there" is very unsatisfying, but so is "God did it." Both seem like a throwing up of hands.

  • @TheAmericanRifleman It just sort of annoys me when people with whom I enter into these discussions, as I do less and less these days, tell me that if I can't answer every question about the universe, or fill in every detail about biology ,then not only do I not know ANYTHING but it means that they DO.     I don't know of any evidence for that.

    As I said, many evolutionists have been trying to pass off evolution as science. But a SCIENTIFIC theory must be adequately defined. Darwin, in his book, Origin of Species, admitted that he didn't know what a species was. And today nobody knows what a species is.

    A theory must be adequately defined to be considered scientific. The theory of evolution is not a scientific theory.

    The point of that sentence is the explain that its America's stance that it's a NATURAL LAW that humans should be free to be happy. That's what the entire declaration of independence is about. At the same time, they also understood that there were many different "gods" and that all worship should be allowed.

He wanted people to live in communes, being completely self-sufficient with no need for money who could spend their days enjoying their lives as long as it wasn't at the expense of others. If that isn't a socialistic world-view, I don't know what is. That certainly isn't the entire concept of socialism but it's a strong foundation for NO other economic theory or concept.

Check Psalm 53:1 to ascertain your personality type.

It depends on your defintion of "the people of old" regarding dates and reading the bible -- but the bible did in fact originate its ideas from the greeks, so to blame Atlas, but doesn't mean you can't blame the writers of the bible too for parroting it.

  • @YourBrainOnReligion Isaiah 40:22 (bible) shows the earth to be round (long before people thought it was flat). Luke 17:34-36: a worldwide simultaneous event taking place in the night in one world area, in the day in another world area (where day activities such as "grinding" occurs or other activities in a field takes place). This can only mean that the Earth CANNOT be flat but at least a 3 dimensional plane. Coupled with Luke 17 17:34-36, the ONLY shape possible must be a spherical (geoid).

The bible also said the Earth hangs on nothing (Job 26:7); as can be scientifically proven. The Earth floats or moves; (Isaiah 38:8) in empty space and not supported by some 'mythological' space-devil (LOL)!! So long before modern science said these, the bible had been scientifically correct.
