And indeed, cosmologists do come up against a "What created the Big Bang?" issue, or, upon answering that, the same question in a modified form, and so on to infinity. I doubt there's an answer to the question of the Cause of a causal universe. Answers like, "A singularity that was always there" is very unsatisfying, but so is "God did it." Both seem like a throwing up of hands.

I often (surprisingly enough) see people who don't believe the country was founded on our Christian Biblical beliefs:

I believe that statement is in fact relating the the Christian God (that of the Jews and those who call on his name without a hidden agenda, but full humility.The muslims just had to say "Allah"! but why?

As I said, many evolutionists have been trying to pass off evolution as science. But a SCIENTIFIC theory must be adequately defined. Darwin, in his book, Origin of Species, admitted that he didn't know what a species was. And today nobody knows what a species is.
A theory must be adequately defined to be considered scientific. The theory of evolution is not a scientific theory.

The point of that sentence is the explain that its America's stance that it's a NATURAL LAW that humans should be free to be happy. That's what the entire declaration of independence is about. Besides, again, we're talking about a document written over 300 years ago when the overwhelming majority of people simply accepted that there was a god. At the same time, they also understood that there were many different "gods" and that all worship should be allowed.

I actually just got burnt out on poker after playing every single day for nearly 4 years. It had nothing to do with misfortune or anything and was a profitable investment of my time as it kept me fed and my bills paid.

@korzon No, that's your interpretation of the verse. It's very clear was Jesus' concepts of living were all about. He wanted people to live in communes, being completely self-sufficient with no need for money who could spend their days enjoying their lives as long as it wasn't at the expense of others. If that isn't a socialistic world-view, I don't know what is. That certainly isn't the entire concept of socialism but it's a strong foundation for NO other economic theory or concept.

Even if you COULD talk to god, it's obvious he's never given you any wisdom. According to his teachings you should never tell someone they're dead inside--especially when I couldn't be more alive. Religion is the equivalent of a bird in a cage while atheism is being free as an eagle. I have no set ideologies, world-views, etc. I am open to hearing all things UNBIASEDLY. So far, no one can show me intelligence existing outside of a brain. Why should I believe?

Evolution is not a belief system you utter fool. Evolution is a scientific fact with several proven theories that explain the diversity of life (natural/sexual selection, env. pressures, etc).

A belief system is one in which a believer puts his faith in the power or essense of it. An atheist is a person who puts his faith in godlessness (i.e. believes there is no God). They are also an organization (religious) system (much like anyone believing there is a God). I've seen campaigns & demonstrations by atheists done. Check Psalm 53:1 to ascertain your personality type.

Nope - I can prove the afterlife is physically impossible, and nearly every religion hinges on the promise of a rewarding afterlife. So if the afterlife is 100% impossible, then how am I just "not believing" ? That's "knowing".
You're looking at things backwards and taking concepts out of context and then trying to say "see it points to god!" when in reality, it does no such thing. Otherwise, the scientist themselves would say "it points to god!" Science isn't anti-god, it's anti-BS.

@YourBrainOnReligion You've still have not answered me how warlocks and magicians can do 'amazing' things like levitate or making objects disappear/ appear (e.g. like David Blaine) in the carefully watchful presence of dazed observers (though there are many of the TV magicians performing illusions or trickery, but I ain't talking of those). I am talking about the real magicians doing the real thing! I have witnessed physically a magician make bottle caps disappear and appear b/4 my very eyes.

@YourBrainOnReligion I made sure there were no trickery involved in any way. B/4 my eyes, he put a bottle metal cap in his hand, closed & opened it. The cap was gone! and later closed his hand again and opened it and it was back there. During this situations, he was uttering out some incomprehensible incantations. He was also wearing shot sleeved shirt etc, so there was no room for trickery. I experienced-witnessed this, not that anyone told me & I am telling you the truth. How is it possible?

Do you think (mutually exclusive) people bowing down to idols (that cant see, hear, talk nor move) are all mad or doing it for nothing if no other powers are behind them?

It depends on your defintion of "the people of old" regarding dates and reading the bible -- but the bible did in fact originate its ideas from the greeks, so to blame Atlas, but doesn't mean you can't blame the writers of the bible too for parroting it.

@YourBrainOnReligion Isaiah 40:22 (bible) shows the earth to be round (long before people thought it was flat). Luke 17:34-36: a worldwide simultaneous event taking place in the night in one world area, in the day in another world area (where day activities such as "grinding" occurs or other activities in a field takes place). This can only mean that the Earth CANNOT be flat but at least a 3 dimensional plane. Coupled with Luke 17 17:34-36, the ONLY shape possible must be a spherical (geoid).

@YourBrainOnReligion If the Earth were flat, the whole activities biblically recorded would take place either all in a day-light or night (if at all there would be night) and not day-night as recorded. The bible also said the Earth hangs on nothing (Job 26:7); as can be scientifically proven. The Earth floats or moves; (Isaiah 38:8) in empty space and not supported by some 'mythological' space-devil (LOL)!! So long before modern science said these, the bible had been scientifically correct.

As for life origins, the only truthful explanation is a creator/designer. Please answer me: How probability possible is it for the 4 differently identifiable figurine heads of 4 US presidents to appear spontaneously on the side of a mountain without a designer/mason involvement? You can use evolution (or whatever) to reasonably explain the heads occurring there. Your explanation must be very sensible.
