i can't say enough about Meshuggah, they changed music for me forever. they are not the same as a cool new band i am into, they are a fundamental part of how i view music now. i don't just listen to them to enjoy, i listen to them to learn, to explore my sonic boundaries. the same songs continually sound different the more you listen to them. you hear things you never heard before. they sound different from ways they never have before. only music this deep can reward that way.

The thing I love about this song is that they couldn't play it live for the first 6 months of the ObZen tour. It took them those 6 months to learn how to play this live, with Thomas Haake stating he practically had to relearn the drums to keep that bass pedal up to speed.

Now THAT is being a dedicated musician, these guys get so much respect from me because of that.

He said he felt sorry for Thomas, because it was WAY harder for him to play completely, because of the insane leg work at the start, and most of the way through the song after that xD lol

I can actually play Bleed all the way through on guitar, I have a 7-string tuned to that low F, if I ever found a way to put a vid of myself on Youtube I'd definitely post it, but yeah point being, it might be hard on guitar but it just takes building up a little muscle. To have to do it on drums, however...OMG the fuckin' leg muscles it must take. Not to mention the coordination, stamina, etc...

Thus why I firmly believe that Tomas Haake is truly a God of drumming.

Yeah xD I can just about play Bleed too, but seeing as I don't have a seven string yet I play it an octave above, so I'm never really gunna post a video, it's just fun to jam on xD

But yeah, for me, it didn't take much time to get the strumming pattern of to speed, but jesus christ, I don't think I could do it on my legs in a million years. My friend who's been drumming for 2 years now has even stated it seems basically impossible =') I don't understand how it's physically possible =')
