The lyrics to Holy Smoke are an obvious dig at extremists who like to claim christianity for their own whilst disregarding it entirely. Paul Di'Anno wrote fairly mystically-influenced stuff at times, but it always seemed to me to be more linking mental illness to mysticism than promoting it. The Seventh Son album is the only thing that could genuinely be called "mystic". It was inspired by Dante's Inferno, a Christian work. (A cover group should really turn that into an Arthurian musical, tho.)

It translates to the following: "'What ho,' said the monster with the three heads, 'don't meddle with things you don't understand.'" The messages were included by the band in response to allegations of Satanism that were surrounding them at the time.

Anyone remember the artwork for the NOTB single? It featured Eddie holding Satan's freshly severed head.
You'd hardly be a satanist if you displayed artwork showing your alleged 'idol' being butchered by another idol...

You omitted the first two lines before this: "This can't go on I must inform the law; Can this still be real or just some crazy dream?" I use to listen to them a lot back in the day, I think I know enough to say for certain, they are NOT satanic. It's just a song. Too many metal bands got labeled even Kiss was accused of it. There are bands out there with real problems, but it ain't Maiden. BTW, their drummer recently asked Jesus into his heart and got saved. Praise the Lord for that.

So what about when they had a concert in Oregon and shouted welcome to satan's church? And as for kiss, that song sanitarium or whatever it's called gene sings I was raised by the demons. And if their drummer did ask Jesus into his heart, don't you think it would be a huge news event? That's what they did for Korn's ex-lead guitarist.
