There are a lot more tools available to fakers then you may realize. Especially those who actually know how to use a dark room with the old school film camera. Today's fake detection is focused mainly around detecting digital alterations with programs like photoshop. A half decent fake done in a dark room with older methods will pass inspection.

Infact in the middle ages if you where reffering to multiple types of ammunition for bows, crossbows, catapolts and other middle age projectile weapons you would have reffered to them as "missiles" rather then called them by each of their respective types.

There are a lot more tools available to fakers then you may realize. Especially those who actually know how to use a dark room with the old school film camera. Today's fake detection is focused mainly around detecting digital alterations with programs like photoshop. A half decent fake done in a dark room with older methods will pass inspection.

@00movieman00 Yep. The word missile actually stems from another word from latin which meant "To send". Essentially any long ranged weapon can be reffered to as a missile. Infact in the middle ages if you where reffering to multiple types of ammunition for bows, crossbows, catapolts and other middle age projectile weapons you would have reffered to them as "missiles" rather then called them by each of their respective types.

@Yoseman1: Well firstly, as I said, a plane IS a missile. A missile is a missile. A snowball is a missile. Anything propelled through the air at something is a missile.
Secondly, imagine how many times this guy's probably been asked if it was a missile, or told it was a missile, etc. He probably hears the word missile more than any one person SHOULD hear the word missile.
As far as the Pentagon, I was there. I've never seen a single missile with landing gear.

Oftentimes "9/11 Speak" has coined the phrase "taking commercial airliners and turning them in to guided missiles" in to WTC and Pentagon - and this was not a full blown error; noted error - but arguably he had heard the phrase and did not follow up with it again, and did not seem embarrassed by the flub, because he referred to the "airplanes".
But indeed, they are missiles! They were launched by the Israelis - piloted with Islamic radicals who thought they were doing something great.
