@pokeoIogy Nope. Birth by Sleep and 3D are confirmed to be of equal stance to numbered games. 3D is a direct sequel. BBS also continues the story, by retcon. There was so much retcon that it has become an essential part of the story (when I say "retcon", I don't necessarily mean "changing facts", but rather adding much more to the background).

Im getting a 3DS just for kingdom hearts 3D, because this game is going to be awsome. And people, chill the hell out about kingdom hearts 3. They din't start even writing the storyline for the thing. Hell they din't even get a release date for kindom hearts 3D yet, for all I know, it can be up to december to next year till it comes out. With a few months past for the release of kingdom hearts 3D in north america, then they will start the development of kingdom hearts 3 people......

I'll give you an example - Its like final fantasy XIII, they can't start the development until its released, just to see how it does well in the gamming market, then they start development on a sequal becuase the game did so good. However in the kindom hearts case, fans are constastly ranting for kh3 which hasn't even started development. Thats why it will begin development after FFV13

FF 13 wasn't even planned to have a sequel,but it had a sequel for the same reasons FF 10 did. In Kingdom Hearts case,FF Versus 13 is being developed by the KH team(KH1 and 2), which is the reason why KH3 hasn't begun development yet.Also,FF Versus 13 began full development after FF 13-2 because people in the Versus team were doin it.

It came out in America in September 2010. 1 month later, Re:Coded came out in japan. BBS and Re:Coded were both developed by the Osaka team. Clearly they didn't wait for BBS's American sales to start on Coded. I never asked you about sequels, so that's irrelevant. I hope you understand now.

First kindom hearts for ps2, then they made kindom hearts chain of memoires for gameboy advance, then kingdom hearts 2 for the ps2, then they go on the the DS system to make kingdom hearts 358/2 days. Then they made a remake of kingdom hearts chain of memories for the gameboy to the ps2, calling it kingdom hearts re:chain of memories, characters limited to typing here, so you get the point.....

Heres an idea for you all.

Buy a 3DS so that you can play all but one (BBS) of the Kingdom Hearts handheld games that have been released on Nintendo systems. You'll finally get to play Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded, and finally this new game Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. The 3DS is backwards compatible with DS games and you should be able to find these KH games for cheap now so you won't miss out. If you don't bother then your clearly not a KH fan Sony fanboy.
