Thank you for the information , I did a 3D map for a big complex and I am now trying to make a 3D coverage area map of a WiFi tower in this complex I think a lot of variable should be considered,is there a special tool in ArcMap 9.3 that can do this calculation?
This data came from MITs Facilities Department. I cant be 100% sure how the data was created but I assume that the floor data was first in AutoCAD and then imported to ArcGIS. I think in most cases facility departments have this kind of data in AutoCAD first.
So..it does live in AutoCAD...and we've done a number of different things to get it into geodatabase. We currently use FME, which is DataInterop Extension. this data goes into SDE for consuption of both web and desktop apps.
The program in this video is ArcGlobe, an application included in the Spatial Analyst extension for ArcGIS Desktop. Any machine that meets the system requirements for ArcGIS Desktop could run this application/demonstration. It would also be a good idea to make sure you have a decent video card. The more on board memory the better.
Unfortunately the 3D operators used to perform the queries in the MIT demonstration are only available at ArcGIS 9.3. You wouldn't be able to perform the same queries at 9.2 unless you wrote your own operators.
sorry to bother u more i need to ask you some more if u have an answer please do reply.
i am trying to learn python. my intentions are use it specially for arc.
what i need to know is python until now i found is useful for writing scripts (using the geoprocessor object and inbuild arc functions). i need to know can python be useful in building new functions of itself (just like arc object).
that was impressive so we move from 2D buffers to 3D, but can some body tell me if i can do the same 3D querry and selection with ARC 9.2 i have a view license and 3D and spatial analyst.
I find it difficult to download from this site

really professional work ,I like the 3D analyze in 9.3, one question is the map floors was first created by AutoCad and then exported to ArcMap?
Thanks

What type of computer system specifications do you need to be able to run this program?
