The people talking about letting sleeping dogs lie (much as in the Beckwith trial, and most likely the Bowers trial) are at best naive and at worst (more likely) disingenuous and self-serving. Clearly they can't comprehend the need for justice and for premeditated murders of such a sinister nature not to go unpunished, even decades later. As pointed out here, many of the people saying that likely fear skeletons coming out of their closets or those of their families.
Great video! May I add that after reading two books about this particular case I feel this Edgar character should be strung up before he dies of natural causes!!
This remarkable video tells a story of whites and blacks, working side by side for liberation and inspite of the very real known risks of confronting white supremacy in Mississippi in 1964. The murder of these men was the tip of the iceberg. Even the Department of Justice and FBI estimate that there are 122 murders from 1948 to about 1968 which were race related that were unsolved.
This movie tells the story of how a small measure of justice was achieved with the conviction of Preacher Killen. While many of his accomplices escaped punishment, by punishing this man, it sent a message that that this type of attack is intolerable & no matter the amount of time that has passed, if you commit such a heinous act, you may yet face justice.
This movie exposes how pillars of the community - police, preachers - were part of the white supremacist system of the south.
While much is made of the "New South" there still is racism and discrimination there like in the North.
Take the time to view this movie. The sacrifice these young men made to unseat the racist powerstructure is moving, as is the continuation of the movement which sought justice for them.

These guys obviously hate negros and jews for one reason or another. Otherwise, they would've also demanded these guys get the justice they deserve.
