  • This is our Wedding Song!

    10~31~2010

  • Ah, the 60's, days of High School, Summer of Love, the British Invasion, yet again, cruisin' in my '65 Chevelle, drinking MD 20/20 and smoking the night away... Taking a girl to the movies and making out in the balcony or at the Drive-In, something kids today know nothing about. And the music was by musicians not computer generated.

  • sexy TUNE (SAXOPHONE)

    tHANK u!

  • I remember playing the sax solo in high school jazz band. We had just finished rehearsal when I started playing the solo. "The quiet 2nd tenor could play something!" - Then I broke out and played the solo to "Touch Me" Yes, they were played verbatim, but it was still fun to show off for a minute or two; before going back into my shell and blending in with the rest of the band the next day.

  • Good times; great music. Thanks from Downunder.

  • @climax522- you are very welcome! Greetings from the U.S.A.! Ron

  • Thank you for uploading this one. WMG sucks big time. Love the pictures you included in the video. This version is close enough to catapult me back to my youth, listening to this song at Venice Beach, Cali. Love, love, love this song. Miss you Dennis. RIP

  • @yogini34- you are very welcome! Thanks for the kind words. Ron

  • I gather this is not the original track by what is being said, have you re-processed or what? Well whatever you've done it's been well done and it seems to me like D/Yost and the Classics to me and there is a vast improvement in instrumental sound quality!

Why would they not allow original track 'Spooky' yet there is no copyright problem with their other hit 'Stormy'? Thanks for upload !

    Dave

  • Not the original version...this is a remake. Please post the original radio version!

  • @oldiesmusic76-because of copyright issues the original version can't be posted on youtube. Warner Music Group owns the audio and will not allow it to be uploaded. I do have the original but I can't post it. This version is still good and is the best I can do! Ron

  • @rwells47 Dear oldieRon and yogi.,

The restriction on posting is not universal, when you go on vacation you may be able to post, see and hear the video without restriction.

    .

It just depends on where you go for your holiday!

    .

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

Sure i;ve got the same feelings. I was hanging around Bleecker St and MacDougal Street with my beautiful bonde girlfriend named Theresa, I was wearing one of those high collar buttoned up blue suis with one of those wide gigantic necktie Yellow. My tapered shirt so tight i had to hold my breath in order not to shoot off the buttons, I used to sit ouside Cafe Borgia and play chess sometimes in Washington Square, How I miss those days. I thank God for letting me live that era.

  • @livinthe60s1 i was wearin my girfriends vagina for a hat............

  • @livinthe60s1 actually I had this big write up for you some how it deleted. I am 27 and live this generation vicariously through the memories said by those that were able to pull back on the throttle back never go over "the edge" Most of my take and influence of the 60's and 70's is through my literary hero and person I have felt most related too in the sense of personality and political ideology. I would love for you to share some of your stories and even old photos of those spooky times...

  • @livinthe60s1 Of course. Manteno swimming hole. Wearing the red & white striped French sailor shirts and white cut offs. Staying out til 10 and thinking that was really bad:)

  • @livinthe60s1 You're absolutely right about bringing back some great, great memories. I feel like it's summer '68 and I'm in love/lust with every girl in the city.

  • @livinthe60s1 Yeah i remember I had a crush on Margaret Petterson! Man she was cute! I remeber the bells i wore and the puffy shirts like Jimi! and the music i listened to and these guys were part of that scene!

  • @Krangypoo- you are very welcome! Ron

  • great song I was just in 8th grade when this came out..... ( bk stand-up) all day every day....

  • Not a bad remake though

  • A super group that I was fortunate enough to witness in the early 80's in North Charleston, SC where they were doing 1-2 weeks in a hotel that featured groups. From what I can recall only one or two members were from the original group but they did a fine show and used their breaks to mingle with audience members. If memory serves me right.........Denny Yost had left the group by that time and he had a very unique voice for that or any band. If anyone knows if they are still touring post it

  • Sounds good...

  • This I s Great ....

  • @flakbac- he original audio is owned by Warner Music Group. They will NOT allow us to post the original audio on youtube! I do have the original but I wasn't able to upload it. Many original audios CANNOT be posted these days on youtube because of copyright issues! Ron

  • @rwells47 thank you for the song.i would like the orig but cannot find it.is it possable to email the orig to me.many thanks pughcat

  • @rwells47 How long will it take till the copyright issue is no more valid? isn't it something about seventy years after first publishing?

  • @PhillyTalent- I don't really know about the particulars of this copyright issue. Sorry! Ron

  • @PhillyTalent Don't quote me here, but I'm relatively sure that it is around 70 years, but it can be renewed...

  • @PhillyTalent copyrights are forever. patents used to be 17 years

  • @PhillyTalent copyrights are forever

  • Yeah I heard the real thing on the radio driving to work today and talk about a tight sound. Then we had the phenomenal 70's, then even the 80's went on to produce some tail-enders of classic jazz rock. Everything since then pretty much a garbled mess of created crap. I feel sorry for the young people who have to make use of the pathetic music of today. I guess the music world got used up and died. At least we have the recording forever.

  • That sax solo is hot

  • Classic!!!! I would love to see an amv with this song.

  • lol it sounds exactly like oh stormy

  • @oldies1976 that's Dennis Yost

  • @oldies1976 - the original audio is owned by Warner Music Group. They will NOT allow us to post the original audio on youtube! I do have the original but I wasn't able to upload it. Many original audios CANNOT be posted these days on youtube because of copyright issues! Ron

  • i was teenager when this song was on the charts it brings back some great times

  • Didn't some of these guys go on to be the Atlantic Rhythm Section?

  • I thought the guys that did this song were black. I didn't know they were white guys. I'm not a racist or anything, but these white dudes have a Motown sound--a soul style.

  • Grad year in 1968. Spooky was on the radio umpteen times a day for months and never gets old. The tenor sax solo is a tribute to the instrument. Dennis Yosts smoky voice rivaled Gary Puckett and ToM Jones'. RIP Dennis..

  • @vanislefan- yes, where does the time go? Ron

  • @rwells47 Why do you always put your name behind your comments? It's kinda annoying. Tom

  • @ItsAMeTomVooren-I'm sorry that annoys you Tom- for you I won't put my name!

  • @rwells47 :P

  • @rwells47 Hi! Doo Ron Ron .... do put your name there... maybe I'm oldfashioned. "Spooky " brings back great vibes mate!

    Ross Ross, Australia :-)

  • @rosslavel-Hi Ross- nice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my channel. I just was on your channel. I love your featured song "Do You Believe In Santa Claus". Cheers, Ron from the state of Washington in the U.S.A.!

  • @rwells47 Thanks Ron... I had just sent another comment with a video response of New World singing "Tom-Tom-Turnaround" when I got your generous reply mate! Two of these blokes wrote "Do You Believe In Santa Claus?" Glad you liked it so much! I truly think there's a special innocence about this song.

    Ross

  • whats wrong with the video?? i lvoe this song, you gotta try to fix it please.

  • This Is Such A Hot Song!!

  • @dudeski78 I disagree totally! Dennis' voice was a gift from God. Yes, the songs were well written, but Dennis played an equally important part of their success in music. Dennis didn't fade away, he kept singing even with a paralyzed vocal chord.

He did help in arrangements and had a big hand in the production of "Traces" without any credit given him.(or monies for pro
