  • Where can you buy in UK those cfl bulbs growing 1 to 2 plants what is best

  • is it ok to have a flowering light and a vegative light on at the same time, or does it fuck shit up. ...plz answer anyone who knows

  • Doctor, what happened to your other videos

  • Iv always heard minimum 3000 lumens per sq/ft and maximum 10 000 lumens per sq/ft for cheebah? Is this not correct? First grow: I have two 55w CFLs throwing 3850 lumens. Day 12 seedlings, 2 boxes with one 55w in each with 9 plants in either box (Purple Kush.) The boxes are roughly 24" tall by roughly 20 sq/inches covering space lined with foil. The plants are around 3" tall but beefy and healthy. Im about to move them to the closet into 4g buckets with twelve 55w CFLs. Is this proper?

  • hey, what does it mean when a plant is autoflowering? does it mean you dont have to change the lighting after a certain time?

  • @jordy350 Autoflowers just have a 24 hours light period for flowering as well as for vegetative. In other words you don't have to switch lighting or timing. I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense, but i am so baked right now man.,mnbvcxz

  • i have 2 big ass 65watt cfls would they work for 1 plant or should i have more bulbs per plant

  • @WhoFartedIFarted That's alright, just try and get more lights if you can.

  • Hey I got 2 55w and 1 105w. how much can i grow, what height should i place them, and what stages should i used which with???

  • cfl,s are excellent grow lights.but i must say you can go by equillient wattaged if all walls are covered in mylar, and by mounting the bulbs horz. and using a hood that concentrates the light downward. please check out my Cab/cfl vid. im using 3-cools equil to 100w. and 2-warms equil to 60w. peace n keep on growing.

  • hey can u check out my grow tell me what u think about it what can i do better

  • Im in the UK how many CFL lights should i put on to grow 4 plants?

  • @fazz993 about 300 watts - 400 watts should be good for that.

  • Very nice, Im looking into getting some "lowrider" seeds for a closet grow.. thanks for the info

  • I figure the 6700K and 2400 k for veg and flowering are the optimum way to grow, but would you still get decent results sticking with the same cfls throughout the whole grow? Or is it a big difference? thanks bro

  • @apathy24 There's a small change in the quality, but it's not much...

  • i just bought two 100 watt daylight cfls will this be enough light for two plants???

  • @BRUCEZING Yeah, as long as it's reall wattage, and not equivalent wattage :)

  • @BRUCEZING no they are not accualy 100 watts thier probly about 20

  • Comment removed

  • how much product should i expect to get out of 100watts and 1 plant

  • @pencilgoboom I would say about 20 - 30 grams. 100 watts isn't really sufficient for good bud growth, for one of my autoflowers, i've got almost 400 watts... If you live in america, 200 watts of CFL lighting wont be more than 40 - 50 dollars :P If i were you, i would go that extra mile :D

  • @DoctorPotHead yea it was actually a question for a friend but it doesnt matter tho he just got caught with it so all well

  • yeah my friend invested about 60 bucks in cfls and after not being satisfied hes thinking about just going ahead and upgrading to a 150w hps. It's almost at 150w worth of cfls at about half the lumens.

  • all you need to know about cfls is not to use those shitty bulbs in flower! if ya cant grow outdoors or with hps then dont even attempt to call yourself a grower with those shit lights!

  • @whyUspeakin You can grow & flower perfectly fine with these lights... If you don't want to invest loads of money for a HPS system... Lighting for 2 or 3 plants would cost about $50 max, where as a HPS would cost around $120... (Based on europe prices). Also, you have to get a much more powerful out take fan for a HPS...

  • @DoctorPotHead a 440 watt light is only $150 us dollars. i run a 400 and a 600 and my bill is less that &50 for them. if ppl stop growing in small boxes you wouldnt need all the air exchange you are talkin bout.cfls will grow and flower a plant but so would a flashlight! once you grow with hps you will try every way in the world not to demote back to cfls. you are only talkin about $70 difference to be growing at the top notch. greatly advance the garden 4 only $70....yes sir

  • @whyUspeakin Ok, great ;)

All i'm saying is that CFL's are good for first time growers, cheap, not too hot, and very energy efficient.

  • @DoctorPotHead but new growers need to understand that energy efficiency should be a major factor in the grow. and if ppl would stop growing in little boxes and closet then heat wouldnt be much of an issue.cheap..you get what you pay for. all im sayin is yes cfls are good to teach someone how to grow a plant not start a grow room, closet, box, pc box or other crazy ideas.but i do agree that first time growers should start with a crap setup and see how much work it is, then decide is this for me?

  • @whyUspeakin efficiency shouldnt*

  • That last shot of the CFL's being 2 feet away is bull shit, CFL's lose their lumens after ~5", at that distance your plants will be getting little to no usable light. I run my 4 45w bulbs 2-4" from my plants without issue, you need to have the correct ventilation and airflow though. It is recommended to use a fan to blow cool air on your CFL's to allowing you to keep the lights closer to the plants, with CFL's the closer the better.

  • sick info ive been wondering about dis for ages cheers

  • Where do you get those doublers for the bulbs? Can't find them. What are they called? Cheers.

  • yo fr4nk thet4nk suck my dick

  • yes yes doctor, alfiemoon here im doing my first grow yeah and there looking ok but could you tel me the best thing to feed them on whilst they in veg if any cheers mate

  • @alfiemoon1231 stop saying yes yes before each comment

  • oi i need help, how many watts will i need for a pcgrow?

  • @ganjagrime about 50 watts

  • @welcome2jamrock1 ok cheers mate :)

  • how much wieght do u get off a plant in a room like that... how long is ur lifecycle

  • yes yes doc whats your thoughts on duel spec cfls

  • so to grow a plant fully and harvest 50 - 100 watts of cfl should do it for 1 plant?

  • @LosAngelesFresh1 Yeah, but i would recommend 100 watts minimum

  • @DoctorPotHead Thanks!

  • I jus sterd and im using two 20cfl for three baby plants

  • I have 3 23w cfl light bulbs do you think I should which to 26w shes in the veg stage

  • yes yes pot head seeing some phat vidoes got a question?how many cfl's would you advise me on putting in a box its 3x2ft sq

  • @alfiemoon1231 I would probably say about 200 - 300 watts of cfl for that.

  • they say that 9 finger fans mean hermie. what about 15 (yes 15) finger fans? also hermie?

  • @Shlzp0pnb0dydr0pn check the inbox i sent you.

  • Alrite mate. Ive just ordered a 250 watt cfl to use in veg. Seedling seem to hate my hps. How many plants can i get confortably under this and how far will i need to keep this away from the tops? Much appreciated N

  • @UnderCoverGrower its a CFL you can fit 1 plant under it lol. If you had purchased a 200watt 4 bulb x 4 feet T5 for ~$130, you could fit 10 or 12 1 gallon plants under it.

Keep in mind that about 2/3 of all the light a CFL makes is wasted unless you have a reflector.

DoctorPotHead put a new video up yesterday with over-watered plants, should you really listen to him :P?

There are more reasons why you will never see a pro use a CFL but skyrim is coming out in 48mins so fu.

  • @ryanmail2004 Keep in mind that if you buy a t5 grow light, it comes with a reflector. CFL's, and t5's have the exact same power. They are made from the exact same material, and they have the exact same spectrum's. And you think i'm not good at growing because i made one small mistake?

Listen bro, if all you want to do is bitch at people over the internet by writing huge essays, then go ahead, but it's just proving to me that you're a prick.

  • @DoctorPotHead This guy watched your video, thought you knew what you were talking about then shelled out 60-70 on a single bulb. Tell me, how many plants do YOU think he can fit under that bulb? 4 with horrible coverage and cfl related stretch? I have 12 x 1gal under 200watts. Oh and as you said, a t5 comes with a reflector LOL XD. I can stare endlessly at a 26w cfl, I can barely look at a 26w T5, THEY ARE SO THE SAME BRO lolz. Stop spreading false info and learn this stuff first

  • @ryanmail2004 "bro"

CFL'S AND T5'S ARE MADE FROM THE SAME FUCKING GLASS, WITH THE SAME FUCKING MATERIAL INSIDE. PERIOD. Yes, t5's come with a reflector, but they are WAY more expensive than cfl's, with roughly $130 you can buy a 98 watt T5 light, with $130, you can buy 3 200 watt cfl's +reflectors for them. how the fuck would a plant stretch with a cfl and not a t5? they are made from the same spectrum, materials, glass, etc... If you know so much about lighting, why are you watching this vid..

  • @DoctorPotHead Where can you get you get 3 200w cfls for 130 they are 50-60 a piece no reflector lol. My 200w T5 covers 12 plants, it was 130...as I said. The 96*watt is $99 BRO. I'll tell you why cfl = stretch. you can't get them close.... If you want short and bushy you need a T5. Having a giant canopy of uniform light 1 or 2 inches away encourages wider plants because they stop growing vertically almost entirely at that distance. dont take my word for it, i dont make youtube videos :P

  • @ryanmail2004 Think what you want bro, i prefer using CFL's, and i've had many successful harvests with them. look on ebay for cheap cfls, i really cba to argue about this, every man to his own.

  • @DoctorPotHead ok ill tell you something more important then cfl vs t5 lol. use Advanced Nutrients sensibloom, its only 30 a liter lol and its worth changing to just because of its NPK of 2.5/2.5/5.

  • Can i use the natural sun light then switch to CFL growbox at night saving me the money for 12 hours worrth of electrical expense? some say 24 hours of constant light is alright for the plant... is it alrigt to grow the plant indoor and outdoor. been trying to find write ups but non is coming out

  • i have one plant, are 110w of equivalent wattage enough?

  • @Mattiafederer No, you need about 100 real watts per plant.

  • Nice SCROG screen!

  • @TheFuzzieWuzzie These aren't my plants, i just got these pics from various growing sites :P

  • Great grow ! Thumbs up

  • 1:20 is brown leaf spot not burning from a light

  • @supchaka And that's what light burn is. Go and google "Light burn marijuana" and click on images, tell me what you see. Also, i saw this on a thread on rollitup talking about light burning, rofl.

  • @DoctorPotHead Brown leaf spot is a fungus, sounds like the DR needs his credentials checked! Google all you want my little internet warrior!

  • @DoctorPotHead lolz cfls really are garbage. if you are going to invest your time you might as well invest a tiny bit in some real equipment. T5's are awesome (only for veg) and gives better results then MH because of how close you can keep it. My plants usually grow INSIDE the light fixture before I move it (<1/2 an inch). That is not a picture of burn, T5s are much stronger than cfl and the leaves need to be in CONTACT with the bulb to burn, that is a pic of deficiency.

  • @ryanmail2004 t5's are the same thing as CFL's, just not compact, and in a spiral form... And if you're using HPS, MH, or any other HID, then your plants can burn from large distances, same thing with cfl's, but the distance is shorter.

  • @DoctorPotHead A CFL is as similar to a T5 as a T5 is to MH, its all about the mix of metal + noble gases in the bulb and how hard is is to ignite that mixture( T12 and T5 use different ballasts).

Anyway my point is that there just is no chance burn with CFL...SINCE T5 IS SO MUCH STRONGER AND NEVER BURNS. The only time I have burn is when I allow the leaves to be in contact with the bulb, then only the part of the leaf in DIRECT CONTACT browns over

  • @DoctorPotHead The plant in that pic looks like it has potassium deficiency, the most common and most commonly misdiagnosed. Basically every new grower thinks that P is the shit but bud plants use double that in K. Do you see the yellowing on that leaf? Do you see how the veins stayed green but the flesh of the leaf is yellow? THAT IS BECAUSE THE PLANT CAN NO LONGER FIXATE OR EVEN RETAIN N WITHOUT K. The nitrogen is literally flowing back into the soil.

  • @DoctorPotHead files(DOT)growery(DOT)org/files/g09-006/388420415-light_burn.jpg

That is "light burn" from a T5. This leaf was definitely in contact with the bulb, hence why it looks cooked.

  • @reznnrubber Thanks a lot man :), it means a lot to hear you say that. I'm going to smoke weed till the day i die, so i'll most likely be growing it too ;)

  • anyone know where i can get a 6400k cfl? all the ones on amazon are only 13-30 watts im only going to do a closet grow with 1 plant any suggestions? (first time growing)

  • @drudigger Home DePot is the way to go. They have 6700k for under ten bucks.

  • hi mate im going to be using a 250w cfl and reflector how far from the plants would you say it should be

  • @str8bizznes 20 - 30 cm, check my newest video out, i have almost the same set up as you :P

  • @DoctorPotHead thanks mate now going to watch your new vid and subscribe

  • 1,5feet x 2feet x 5feet space + 2x 32w CFL's (eq.180w incand.) = a good grow space?

    ... for 2 ak48 plants ... or would i need more space/light?

(also the space is coated with tin foil.)

Give some advice please and can u estimate based on your experience how big a yeld can i get with what i just described? :P

  • @leftovercrack66 It's just enough i think, but you need more lights... way more... For each plant, i would reccomend about 100 watts.

  • @leftovercrack66 not only what he had said about more lumens per wat out put but do not use tinfoil it causes heat and a very big mistake for first time growers i used it too tho lol dont tho its bad paint the surface flat white

  • i have an 18 watt cfl will that work?

  • furthermore i had to bust another myth about cfls.. they arent low wattage low heat.. they put out 40 percent less light then an hps.. so to get a 250 watt hps amount of lumens you need something like 360 watts of cfl. relatively. . cfls are cool cause u can get them so close there but they are massive bulbs...check out my cabinet video for a good comparision of 175 watts dimmed hps with 68 watt cfl. much to be worked on with humidity., also i had the hps just a bit to close in my cabinet lol

  • those cfls are way to far away.... especially in an open room grow like that.. fuck, put them like 3 inches away. and put a good fan on them...to tell if a bulb is too close you put your hand too it.. if the heat isnt irritating ur palm.. and u can comfortably hold ur hand there for about 30 seconds or so. then its good.. generally tubes can be placed very close to buds. and CFLs should stay a few inches. away depending on wattage

  • Picture at 1:18 doesn't look like any CFL burn I've ever seen. More like a bad K-deficiency.

  • how long until you should change from the cool white CFL light to the warm CFL

    thanks

  • @Mr765Tube After about 3 - 5 weeks of growing, as long as you have some nodes, 4 or 5 should be good.

  • Is a 11 wat (60 watt) gu10 cfl light good for 1 plant?

  • @MrDonses No man... You're going to need a lot more than that for 1 plant. I think about 100 watts would be more than enough for a plant. If you live in the US, this would cost no more than $30. And even in europe, it would cost less than 30 euros, i'm pretty sure.

  • @DoctorPotHead 60 watt not much different then to a 100 watt. The bulb I got has 380 lumens. Is this not enough for 1 plant?

  • @MrDonses of course not. the other guy said 11 watt isnt enough for 1 plant and 9 watt is 550 lumens.

  • @poiiihy I guess I will have to use them for only 1-2 weekday then go into flower

  • Just a quick one. where did you get the "Y" splitter for the bulbs? i have seen them in othe CFL grows but not been able to source any myself. Cheers

  • @matttheswede You can either buy them online, or just go to walmart and pick some up (if you live in the usa) if you live in europe, or any other country, i think large megastores would have them, but if not, just hit up your local lighting store :)

    Stay high.

  • @matttheswede any home depot wal mart

  • Do u keep the plants in he dark until they sprout or after a couple days then use light

  • Nice. I was wondering if you know if I were to put my cfl lights for 12/12 lighting( only growing for fun in a small, small area ) from seed, if my plant will grow small. ( growing in a red plastic cup )

  • Sweet! Ill try that man. Thanks

  • @jbreezyakaprosk8r No problem! :)

  • How do u pick them and grind them? Or where could u get a grinder?

  • @jbreezyakaprosk8r Look up a headshop in your city / area. if not, order a grinder online at any headshop. i really like 'everyone does it'
