Too bad, there's no "local flying club" here in my country. I do fly safely, all within my skills, but I understand accidents do happens, and thus, my questions.
Also, I fly with plastic blades, so as to reduce damage (to both the heli and property/human).
Did the heli hit the camera or directly on the camera man?
It seems that the injury is not really bad, comparing to 450 sized, it might have snapped the finger isn't it?
I'd assume this thing is "safer" type of heli that might cause bruises and cuts but not "loss of finger" type of injury, is it? I'm asking because I'm buying a 250, and have some safety concern.
@thloh85 Give yourself a 30ft safety zone, fly well-maintained equipment, give the heli a healthy respect and fly within your abilities. If it hits someone anything can happen so don't go there and you'll be fine.
@thloh85 no way to say what it hit first but it hit both, it could still take your eye out, you dont really want to be hitting anyone with one if you can help it
@thloh85 smaller heli faster head speed. All heli are dangerous no matter the size. He was lucky since part of the impact was absorbed by the camera. and if you are very unlucky it could hit your eyes, glasses are useless in this case. Hit you in th throat & cut your jugular vein, same thing with the main vein in your leg, etc. Here are my suggestions. Never fly alone (try to call somebody with your throat open or knock out and bleeding), become a member of a flying club so you can learn safety
@thloh85 It is good idea before starting, to visit a local modeling club to meet more experienced people for some good advice about the whole thing...especially for helis

Don't upgrade to a 450 until you get better, or at least don't fly stunts. I bet he would think twice about being your camera man again.

Glad everyone is ok. Nice flying by the way. I love my 250, I bring it everywhere with me. I run so many battery packs through that thing.
