All societies base their moral at least partly on empathy because it's an innate emotion for everyone (except psychopaths who lack empathy by definition but those are exceptions.) God has nothing to do with it and if fact the more a society relies on it and the worst it does humanly. It's not God that you have to rely on to dictate your conduct. It's empathy.

So refering to christian doctrine's in the light of "objective" and superior morality, we award our zeitgeist with an equal weight in importance and authority.

If you read about the practices of early humans, many of them show examples of rituals depicted to be practices of religion and faith. I am undecided myself on how old the world actually is. How old the world is, does not disprove the existence of God.

So instead of looking at it from that perspective, try viewing objectively it in terms of whether or not there is enough credible evidence to warrant such belief. Atheism was pushed on us by liberals to help break up the nuclear family along with many other utopian idiotic liberal ideologies. Because of our shift away from God and people replacing themselves as the ultimate authority our society like all that have no grounding is doomed to fail. The problem with Atheism is that it results in a focus on materialism and selfish pleasures. All societies base their moral at least partly on empathy because it's an innate emotion for everyone (except psychopaths who lack empathy by definition but those are exceptions.) So refering to christian doctrine's in the light of "objective" and superior morality, we award our zeitgeist with an equal weight in importance and authority.

You do not understand what atheism is if you say that you're born an atheist. Atheism is the REJECTION in belief of certain deities. Unless you know for sure that a 1 year old baby is rejecting religious beliefs, that baby is not atheist.

(continued) When America was very Christian our societies were very ordered and a lot more stable and the cycle of childhood -> marriage -> have children was instilled into every American and every American focused on having as many children as they could to have a large solid support structure as well as plenty of people to inherit the society and keep it large and strong. The problem with Atheism is that it results in a focus on materialism and selfish pleasures. Even if you don't kill anybody or do anything wrong in mass it results in people having less children because they don't have religious cohesion. Population decline in the West is a direct result of a continual loss of religious values. Western civilization stems from Christianity. It pushes us to minimize selfish pleasures and makes the focus raising children in a stable family for the future.

There has been bloodshed throughout the history in the name of various different religions and people will continue to be as immoral as they were in the past. Atheism isn't a threat. "Good christian morals" haven't changed anything in us and neither will atheism.
Our morals that we get from the cultures we live in should however base on logical thinking, the respect of others and kindness.

Let's say a man - a flesh & blood human - comes forward with his own moral philosophy, based on observations of life and things like cruelty, unfairness, bigotry, promiscuity, dishonesty etc. He thinks: "gosh, I wouldn't want someone to come along and beat me, or rape me, or steal my shit, or sleep with my wife" so he stands up in front of a gathered crowd and says to them "please don't go around beating people, or raping them, or stealing their shit or screwing their wives". I have to correct you. The Bible is vague, confusing, and open to interpretation. I could as an atheist, think the Bible is written by men, but think it is a great moral book written by great moral philosophers. I dont' even have to prove this. Christianity has the most diverse versions of interpretations of any other religion. This is evident in the different denominations. They even criticize one another...lol So much for the concept of uniting humanity.
