The problem with "slimming down" the press and free speech is that at some point, the person censoring news and channel choices will not have the people's best interest at heart and will be under the control of corporate masters. I guarantee you that corporations have never had the best interests of the American citizen at heart. What Senator Rockefeller is advocating is anathema to democracy and civil liberties.
