Wifi Hot Spots with Apple iPhone 4s & iPad 2

I'm about to buy an iPhone 4S and have an old iPad 1 WiFi but don't have wireless internet at home as of the moment. This is video so helpful to me as this means I can take my iPad 1 on the go anywhere and hook it up with my iPhone 4S and browse the Net. Thanks again.

Will let you know if the browsing speed here in India is the same as the one you have in Canada.

Mines says to call at&t, are you paying to share the hot spot or is your iPhone 4s jailbroken?

And if it is where did you do it, mines is running on 5.0.1

if you cannot seen it in setting ,

go setting :General -Netwrok-Personal Hotspot, Active it from here.

After active from here you can see in Main setting .

Does wifi tethering tell you how much dada has been drawn by the other devices. Or tell you what devices are connected to your network? I am curious because I might switch to the 4gb AT&T plan but want to make the right choice before switching

You could do this with the iPhone 4 too. This is nothing new. If you upgraded from the iPhone 4 to the 4s, you were just stupid. Siri was already available as an application, that worked, and what else, oh ya, a slightly better camera and a second processor. Ok the second processor is cool, but if you had the 4 and upgraded, you're gonna be pissed when the 5 is released in under a year. I wanted the 4s but realized i'll be due for a for a free phone upgrade right about the time the iPhone 5 wi

My sister and I got the 4S (mine black, hers white) and I have the personal hotspot and she doesn't. Why not? We're both on 5.0.1 and I don't know why mine has it and hers doesn't. Please help.

I have both the iphone 4 and 4s here in front of me and under settings there are airplane mode- wifi- notifications-locations services- sounds- brightness-wallpaper-general etc etc ... I 've read somewhere that the hotspot option was removed with later versions of the 5.0 release- and to reset network settings to reveal the personal hot spot option once more... But I have no clue what it would do to the phone resetting network settings

Which IOS are you running doing this? I'm on 5.0 on iphone 4. Doesn't have the personal hot spot option. Has this been removed due to the 5.0 ios update? Is there a way to get it back?

Maybe try a fresh install if you dont see it.

@FuriousTechnology I just figured it out ..I went to settings>general>network>set up personal hot spot- of course it prompts you to call/go to att website to activate this on the plan..which sux...so I think I will probably just resort to jailbreaking and using my36 or mywi
