Signatories to the NNPT (nuclear non-proliferation treaty) have agreed not to develop nuclear weapons and those that have them already agreed to a reduction and eventually disarmament. The US and the UK for that matter, are violating this as they actively persue nuclear weapons. Israel also has 100's of nuclear weapons but they didn't sign the treaty. Iran is a signatory and there is no evidence they are making or even wanting a weapon. Iran has every right to nuclear power - which is different!
