  • I get to play this with the cadets this year. Can't wait for spring training.

  • We're working on this piece right now. I hate the flute part at 2:30. It's not fun for someone who's not necessarily a technical player. But the D-flat in the second measure is killer. All of the second flutes are playing it down an octave. But I love the song, and Concordia is AMAZING (oh my goodness, you have no idea how much I wanna go there. I was just up there for the Music Performance Scholarship weekend :)

  • Played this in high school when I was a soph.

I had no idea until just now how talented the rest of the band truly was.

My 3rd Trumpet part was at best, serviceable.

  • I just had to point out the clarinet squeaky squeaky at 1:52 hahaha

But this is an amazing performance! great work

  • I love playing this! Especially all quick switches in articulation :) soo much fun to play :) clarinet <3

  • If you never got to hear the Garfield Cadets' 1983 hornline play this piece, then perhaps you might wanna ask God to send you back down to earth just for an extra 5 minutes.

  • @ericdrumz hell yeah. 83' Cadets were the greatest corps ever.

  • Simply beautiful. I get goosebumps at 2:35 every time.

  • @MetalcorexIsNotxDead ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!

  • clarinet part......

  • @thehippieauthor

highly doubt that a 6th grade band could play this piece

  • i love this music when i playd it <3

  • I like after 4:08.

  • you should see the marimba part

  • My HS band's festival set next year - This, Hindemith Symphony, and possibly Commando March as our warm-up. Fun :)

  • There are no words to express my love for this song.

  • First part to marching band show, Horn part sounds really amazing! Can't wait to play some of this!

  • I'm playing this in band for a concert sounds like funnn!

  • I played this, this year for my high school's band on Marimba and Xylophone, and god, it's super difficult.

  • I played this my freshman year in high school and im playing it again senior year this time playing 1st trumpet. ilove this song

  • Playing this at National Concert Band Festival tomorrow. :DD

  • My high school's highest band played this. I'm going into that band next year. On clarinet. I've seen the music for this. Even on third, it's scary.

  • my school's marching band performed this song!

  • The euph part is pretty cool , we have to go pretty high up there tho xD...playing this for my gmea festival

  • @CharlieDaKidd23 thats really cool and I know what you mean ;-) that B flat is nasty

  • I just played this with the Naval Academy Band, it's so beautiful (especially the euph part :-))

  • 1st clarinet part is institutionalized suicide...

  • The tempo is pretty relaxed, not that its a bad thing though. All the parts are clearly defined here. I do prefer that raging fast tempo though haha

  • I play the Piccolo on this :))

  • my band director always picks hard stuff for our band. its a fun and can-be easy piece its just the matter of getting ur fingers in time. especially clarinets :P we always get ripping parts... cause we're just that awsome.. lol.

  • CLARINET PART IS COMPLETELY DEMENTED. kthxbaiii

  • PS: i got 3rd clarinet part...

  • I tried to sight read this piece in a band rehearsal today.

    EPIC FAIL

  • this song is probably the definition of those songs you're like "eff i CANT GET THIS" and the director says to change pieces and ur like "NO DAMNIT I CAN GET THIS!!! ONE MORE TIME!!!" lol i love it. i have it sitting in front of me right now with my alto on my lap x.x you guys did an awesome job ^.^

  • Love this song (and you guys played it well), but the only thing I can think of when I hear it is the Garfield Cadets.

  • @dcbandnerd HAHAHA That's the first place I ever heard it!

  • I love this number, I played in this ensemble 40 years ago. this video response is from a recording from 1971

  • this song is crazy on euphonium, i love it. but its funny when the teacher asks who has the melody and i am playing so high they think its a French Horn! =]

  • @EuphGirl05 i know exactly what you mean, i played this last year on euph. :)

  • trumpet part is hard! we're playing this for the spring concert

  • @trompeta15 you should see the clarinet part

    DX

  • @rushpython100 you should see the french horn part

  • @hahaha442

oh i did. i played clarinet and tenor sax. I sat next to the french horn.... jeez.... wow

  • We are playing this in my high school wind ensemble and the bassoon part is beastly. but its such a lovely piece. so we all but up with it.

  • BTW!!!!! we played this piece in my freshman year of HIGH SCHOOL!!

the 4th page of the tenor part is also evil

  • the run at 4:20 is pure evil!!!!!

  • this song is a royal pain in the ASS.

ugh, my band director is out of his MIND sometimes.

  • jesus this song is a pain in the ass.... i am playing the marimba and xylo part

  • i know how you feel ;~;

i had to play the marimba and glokinspeil part my freshmen year. but i love this song :)

  • I really love to hear anything Concordia has to play, they are excellent at every form of music they play. I wanna play with them! are you guys taking 49 year old Trombone players? ( I'll break down and take a baritone horn or Euph!)

  • You're too kind! I had the pleasure of playing under the baton of Dr. Scott A. Jones for four years in this truly world class ensemble. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything!

Thanks for the compliment & just so you know, any Concordia student can audition ...

  • @nllarsen thank you alot for recommending these songs to me because they are really great. you guys are awesome

  • I Lovee this song =]
