  • We love you Glen.......

  • great song and great hair!

  • I remember this as a pre-teen and my friends were listening to Rock&Roll and sure I like Rock&Roll but I also Liked Glen Campbell.

  • Great song, great voice, but there's just no way to make that POS Ovation sound good!

  • Such rich voice is hard to find. I really enjoy listening to it......

  • i wish youtube would stop showing comieobamie adds durring the songs.

  • Busterseyes -- me too! such a crush on Glen. It was a time and place when it wasn't cool to like country, but I didn't care. He is one of the best and it's wonderful that he is still performing today. Thank you Glen and YouTube and those who post this great stuff.

  • This is wonderful! This song is one of my favorites from Glen Campbell. I had such a crush on him when I was young. : P

  • I dream of Galveston. I lived in the Houston area for three and a half years.

  • Jimmy Webb and Glenn were one of the great match-ups in music history.

  • Before my Grandma died..we used to make beaded jewelry to Glens songs. What great times ! I wish him all the best...he is one of the best !

  • One of the greats of my era. Wish him the best!

  • Tomorrow Never Comes - fantastic song! I have never heard that song. Glen you are in my prayers, as well as your family. May God bless you each and every day! My mother just started in dementia when she passed away, so I know!

  • Hey this song is an anti-war song... ABLA GO BRAUGH

  • But, hey, wasn't that super bowl show yesterday just great. - BARF.

I MISS THIS TYPE OF ENTERTAINMENT. Who needs the Roman Legion when you have talent like Glen.

  • We saw him play last August in Toronto and he was great. I'm glad I did get to see him on what was supposed to be his final tour. Lots of great songs in his catalogue of hits.

  • cute

  • One person is "afraid of dying."

  • Just saw Glen sing this fantastically in Ann Arbor MI-Jan.28,2012.

  • I went to Galveston. Thought it sucked. The water was polluted and dirty. I do like this song still.

  • @Reversism The water suffer from all of the trash washing down from the Mississippi. It is more dirt that polution and it is perfectly safe to swim in. Galveston is still recoveing from Hurricane Ike but It is coming back with the development of a pier where the old Flagship Hotel was.

  • Arkie is headed to Galveston for her new job!!! Good Luck!! I dedicate this song to you!!! DWP2

  • Very good song...brings back good memories.

  • I'm from the uk but really want to go to Galveston just because of this track. Is it as bad as everyone says. ? Is it as bad as Rockaway beach.

  • @kernowdel Keep in mind it's a very small city with a population of about 60,000 so don't expect too much. It has a few points of interest like Moody Gardens, Aviation Museum, Train Museum + some fairly decent restaurants but I hesitate saying that it is a prime vacation destination. I don't think I would make a special effort to go there if I was in your shoes.

  • Awesome all around.

  • Galveston was the playground of my youth. Love this song.

  • some say alzeimer can be cure by fasting and honey........

  • fabulous version of an old civil war song

  • Great song.

    Thanks for the memories.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Glenn Campbell is a true American Music LEGEND in every sense of the word. Before he became famous in his own right as a recording artist, he was one of the most famous studio musicians ever. He backed the Beach Boys and the Champs among other bands of the day. I didn't know just how much I realized this until I watched this video clip. God bless Glenn Campbell !!

  • When my family moved from California to Texas several years ago, we had some fun trying to come up with as complete a list as possible of all the songs written about or related to Texas. The list was substantial. And great songs too. I'll bet there have been more great songs written about Texas than any other state. And I'll further best the gap between Texas and #2 is substantial. At any rate, this is one of the best. Too bad I can't say the same for the actual city today. It's a shit hole. :(

  • i'm dream about me and my dream girl playing in the water on the beach with each other when i hear this song.

  • my man

  • This guy could play anything he wanted and did.

  • Saw Campbell 3 xs when I lived in Southern Calif...Even got to talk to him for a few mins in a backstage meet and greet can't believe he has Alzheimers

  • The absolute best!

  • I've never been a huge fan of Glen Campbell's style of music, but acknowledge he's a pretty good singer, & very good guitar player. Glen deserves praise for bravely responding to the horrible news of his Alzheimers diagnosis by recording a farewell album & doing a 2011 farewell tour.

  • Summer of 1969, Glen Campbell was tops. He was the first entertainer to perform at Salt Lake City's Salt Palace oh so long ago. I hope his remaining days go well for him as Alzheimer's is a hideous disease to have.

  • he looks just like my father -in -law lol ..... i love the song:)

  • HANDSOME.... VERY FUCKABLE FACE!

  • This was such a hit song when I was 8. I liked it when I was growing up. Glenn filled the American dream a bit. Things were really alive then. Such bright days.

  • You know what this song means - right?

  • beautiful song .

sad that the short term memory is disappearing..i will pray for mr. campbell , grew up listening to you and so good music period!!!

  • What a beautiful song and what a beautiful man...

  • This is a terrific song..by a great artist,love his music..

  • Not too badd 4 de white-cracker 2-step jive . . Where'z Weezie? When'z I need'z to boogie ?

  • Didnt they use a guitarrone on the original recording? He played it here on his guitar but it is several octaves higher.

  • Thanks for uploading, SixtiesPopGold - good song from a good singer. Just heard has a bad condition (don't know what it is), but what a shame. Glen Campbell is very much an under-rated singer/songwriter

  • Glen's singing is unlike the monotone twangy country singers, has power and volume great guitarist too.

  • @69ssrszl1 It helps to have a good voice.

  • From the land of the Bluenose....hear the bouy is sick....prayers go out for him!

  • Glen Campbell is an incredible singer and Galveston is a true classic.

  • Somebody quoted Jimmy Webb elsewhere here that he wrote it as a non-confrontational Vietnam War protest. And to underscore that, Campbell posed in a WWI doughboy uniform on the album cover.

  • He sings live and it sounds as if it was studio.... He is truly amazing.... They don't make them like this anymore

  • @philster611 His voice is flawless. :-)

  • My favorite Glen Campbell song. Brings back lots of memories of years gone by. He is sick now with Alzhiemers, and still making music one final time. Bless him.

  • @tank3ful Oh yeah takes me back to The Goodtime Hour and to me he was better than any other singer

  • @lakansorayo save everyone the trouble of embarrassing yourself will you, so shut the fuck up, I came here to listen to Glen Campbell Galveston. Not to listen to some hip 10 year old twat talk about 'dance moves and beats'. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LISTEN TO THE MUSIC^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

  • @MrChobbaWonga08 Lol Thank you. I love this song...

  • He ain't even tryin'

  • Look how satisfied he is with himself at 2.15.

  • When you reply on here the other person's username comes first.

  • I got the two usernames confused, I should've put lakansorayo in my measage.

  • One more thing, I hate Chicago.

  • I've heard a lot of crappie Dance Music and some good, that’s basically what House and Hip Hop are. My dad use to practice singing Country Music and some of the stuff he sang was garbage, I hate Johnny Cash. Glen Campbell is a real super star just like Waylin Jennings and good ole Jerry Reed that was on "Smokey and the Bandit". Therefore, just because a form of music doesn't have some kind of beat or rythom doesn't meen it sucks, anybody that says that, does suck.

  • I love this song and I like house music, classic rock, old pop music from the 70s, basically anything that sounds good. It also has to have a meaning. A song doesn't have to have a beat that is totally stupid. Even Country Music can sound good, if it is done right. A song can sound bad with a beat. In short, a beat would ruin this song. People like “SixtiesPopGold" evidently has no taste in music. I've lived Chicago for or since 1985, unfortunately.

  • Audio honey. Faultless song.

  • Bless America for giving the world this song and Glen Campbell.

  • @lakansorayo I feel sorry for you.

  • @lakansorayo Sorrry, but I really hate hip hip. Can't understand why anyone can find it entertaining to listen to someone talking through a song (and much too often with a sampled song in the background). There are some exceptions of course, but I'd go crazy listen to a whole album.

  • @SixtiesPopGold yo see hey how it change. opera to fucken elvis to rok en rol disco watever. but guess who still around. hip hop is fucken forever. the beat is forever. coz hip hop is fucken real. hip hop is alive not boring.

  • @lakansorayo NOTHING is forever. And there will come a day when kids are saying 'hip-hop is boring'. If you can't see this now, you will in time.

  • @lakansorayo I think hip-hop is boring, incredibly and hopelessly boring. But as a user of the English language, I'm not the target audience, either.

  • @bellier20 yo u got to be cherin not sad en cryin like a sad song bout some 21 yr ol girl lost en waitin the sea side long ago. yo go see some boobies a shakin like a hip hop rap rap rap wild and free en sexy hot hot hot....thats alive not borin..

  • @lakansorayo There's a time to be introspective and thoughtful, not just jumping around mindlessly.

  • @SixtiesPopGold Darling, it's called hip hop, not hip hip.

  • @SixtiesPopGold I tortured myself trying to find out what was so good about allot of todays music and found NOTHING. NO Talent, No musical quality, Just vulgar loud noise that is soon forgotten . GARBAGE. Thats why "the oldies" will never die. They become classics that live forever and will go on long after we're gone.

  • @lakansorayo...umm...so if hip hop, dance moves and the beat is all that works for you, then it doesn't sound like you should be evaluating anything else because you don't seem like you are interested in appreciating or understanding actual music. maybe try a zumba class. that sounds like the thing to meet your requirements. (and perhaps a spelling class?)

  • @lakansorayo To each his own. I like it where I'M at.

  • @lakansorayo not everybody likes jungle music.

  • @lakansorayo And you need to learn how to spell, Grasshopper. Lol

  • @karenbrantleywrites wake up to d modirnity gramma. only pplez en D carehome r too old enuff to care to spell. 1 letter 1 word now. learn gramma. don't meant to offend. be humble en learn modirnity.

  • @lakansorayo And this is why our day of age, the intelligence of children is degrading... I'm one of the few not affected yet-- i'm 14.

  • @lakansorayo

When asked by the police to whom he would like to call, his reply was "da wite hose, mang" Better tell Aunt Petuttie or whatever her name is and his Uncle that they have to make room for "Cousin Lakansorayo" in the government housing unit they share. • @lakansorayo You uncultured peasant. This is the kind of music that needs to be felt by the heart, not with the feet. This man had an honest, golden voice during his time. "I am so afraid of dying." Don't tell me you can't tell that this is a song about a soldier who left his loved one to fight in a war.

  • @lakansorayo You're such a dumb ass punk. Go back to school, you ignorant troglodyte. You don't know a thing about the world, me or my wife, present or otherwise. Keep your thug caveman crap music and your shitty preschool grammar and stupid attitude.

  • Great live take!

  • I've always loved Glen Campbell! His songs always bring me back to my childhood and simpler, happier times. His music really gets my soul every time! His voice is straight from God. I remember watching the Glen Campbell Hour with my whole family! Times were sure different then. I'm praying for you, Glen, and your family! Thanks for all the wonderful memories I have that include your beautiful songs!

  • @nancyacton Same here. I remember my Mom and I watching him every Sunday night when I was little. Ironically I lost my Mom to Alzheimer's three years ago. My prayers go out to him and his family.

  • What happened to music over the years? No song today can compare to this tour de force. This song is at the pinnacle of musical masterpieces. We're praying for you, Glen. Thanks for the FABULOUS memories of 1969, my friend.

  • Praying for Glen!!!

  • Songs of this nature and thoughts of youth - can'y get any better.

  • My Friend Play's with Glen Jeff Dayton

They dont make many like Glen, just been looking into some of the work he did as a session musician and its phenominal, from the Byrds to Sinatras 'Strangers in the night', the Righteous Brothers 'Unchained Melody', almost every Beach boys track... the list of hits is unbelievable, Glen career has been amazing.
