I hate to say this but Ann Coulter is right about George W. Bush's SAT scores being above 350/1600. George W. Bush had an SAT score of 566/800 for Verbal and 640/800 for Math. Those scores aren't bad but they aren't Yale material, especially when you take into consideration that his family was rich enough to afford tutors and test prep classes. George W. Bush had a lot of advantages working in his favor so one would expect his scores to be higher, but apparently that's the best he could do.
But the point is the scores weren't the focus of the debate. They were a tangent point. While she may have been correct, it's really moot. Yale didn't generally accept non athletics with 1200 SAT's in the 60's. In fact Yale had pretty much the worst admission policies out of the Ivy league schools.
So, no other reasons for his acceptance can be given besides one, admissions was receiving an overhaul (affirmative action) at the time, and 2, his father was S&B and an Alma Mater.

Obama refused to release his Columbia thesis, which was about nuclear disarmament of the West. I hate to say this but Ann Coulter is right about George W. Bush's SAT scores being above 350/1600. George W. Bush had an SAT score of 566/800 for Verbal and 640/800 for Math. Those scores aren't bad but they aren't Yale material, especially when you take into consideration that his family was rich enough to afford tutors and test prep classes. George W. Bush had a lot of advantages working in his favor so one would expect his scores to be higher, but apparently that's the best he could do.

But the point is the scores weren't the focus of the debate. They were a tangent point. While she may have been correct, it's really moot. Yale didn't generally accept non athletics with 1200 SAT's in the 60's. In fact Yale had pretty much the worst admission policies out of the Ivy league schools.
So, no other reasons for his acceptance can be given besides one, admissions was receiving an overhaul (affirmative action) at the time, and 2, his father was S&B and an Alma Mater.

1) George H.W. Bush was elected to the House of Reps in 1967. George W Bush got into Yale in 1964. So yeah, Coulter actually had a point there.
2) Not really sure why Rock turned the convo from SAT scores to crude racism from back in the day. Yeah, he had valid points on racism, but it had nothing to do with the conversation about Bush's SAT scores.
