  • wow!! that was so awesome! seriously i love grooves like that. what software program do you use? i have a td-4 and i think i need to get a new module that has the midi in as well (possibly a td-6, 8, or 10 if i can afford it)so i can play live as well. i am no where as good as you are and am just learning about midi, any advice you can give?

  • you are very good though!!!

  • V-Drums are very hard to record ...I'm still having trouble with what I see and what I hear on the wah guitar effect on your 3rd tom ...you say there are no dub tracks on the track ... your hand on that particular 3rd tom never does double strokes but there is the sound of a double stroke on every second bar of that section ...I have years experience with these drums

  • Serious groove, dude!

  • this is like 94.7 music...lol

  • That was AMAZZING! A bald black man in Warner Robins, Ga loves you man. (Not in a gay way). In a you are the Man!, way. I just bagan listening to deep powder in late 2008. I cannot believe you are a real human being. I am a true fan. I have been collecting The Rippingtons music since I was 14 years old living in Detroit-1984. God bless your hands Dude.

  • Your better than bazybeats

  • Man this dude shits over Bazybeats

  • I am always amazed at where and how my name pops up all over the internet. In a way I see this as a huge complement and I am flattered. I am also glad that you posted this comment because it turned me onto another great digital drum artist that furthers the proof that electronic drums are an instrument to be respected for their versatility and their ability to take drumming to an entirely new creative level. I applaude Martin here on a great vid...Thanks to all for posting. BzB :-)

  • Wonderful! People don't PLAY jazz, they FEEL it. You, sir, were in that zone.

  • I think your expertise would be greatly appreciated, lave al your videos! and I'm getting a foot cabasa cause that vid was really great :)

  • very good , very mellow , very chilln , I luv it!

  • i wouldnta thot it possible to make drums sound good to this, you did tho! nice work

  • Damn, man. Awesome job. I really don't like this style of music, but you brought a great feel to it and helped me appreciate a lot of the subtleties. Great vid.

  • good work

  • omg this is amazing!!

  • yeah!!! russ freeman rocks!!! black diamond album..

  • You're off Da Chain Martin!! As Always:) Loving it!!

  • I so want to get a Roland drumkit like your's. I bet now one could find a cheaper set of these since the newer V-drums are out. You are one of my new favorite drummers! You are just amazing to listen to and watch. Please keep making vids!

  • great to see edrums being used to there full capabilities,,to many edrummers just do not or can't be bothered to utilise there full potencial (like me)i had td12 setup ,,,completely wasted on me!.gonna stick to acoustics lol.

  • loved it :)

  • why dont you just become the rippingtons drummer the stuff sounds better with your stuff in it having listened to most of the tracks

  • very nice you seem an accomplished drummer who understands different styles well done and also what is the name of this song

  • Thank you! I added the track title to the video title. It's called "Deep Powder" and is the one of three tracks I posted from the Ripps' Black Diamond CD.

  • That was excellent man. I enjoy Rippingtons music. I want to get a V-drums set/pads but am always turned off by the price. I might convert my acoustic kit to electronic (w/ triggers and mesh heads).

  • man..this is awesome...!!excelelnt timing really..i wish i can record like that!!very nice

  • Great work! No B.S. just clean grooving!

  • amazing work again, is there any way you could send me the track you drummed to? thanks!

  • Wow! Amazing work. Hope your are touring, teaching, whatever. You kept that amazing groove like a real pro. Just don't quit playing to become a web page developer like Tony Morales did. Thanks for posting.

  • E X C E L L E N T. I really enjoyed that.

  • dude this like the best music i've ever listened to you like have to put so more on!

  • Hey, Guy, your sound is trying to kill me....no words!!! Fantastic !!!

    Andyman

  • Most excellent. Nice job!

  • hey there martin, are u lefty?.I have my ride just to the left over my hihat as well..like where yours is ?? I played for the 1st time those on a set of vdrums ..I was completely amazed..loved em..but there very pricey 5600.00 for this kit..anyway you have a great style with some smooth fills, keep up the fancey chops!! ..i'll be watchin

  • Hey fish... Yes, I'm a natural lefty but switched the kit to right handed setup many years ago. But if you notice I always use a hi-hat sound (or a real hat on my real kit) on the right as well, like a lefty would set up. I'm going to post some stuff that highlights that more clearly. V-Kit is great for practice esp. You can get a cheaper used one and still benefit. Mine is a 5 yr old td10 model I bought new. Thanks for tunin' in! New vids this weekend...

  • Extremely musical man! Very good!

  • dude that was great!! nice work

  • mayne, you one of tha hardest mutha fuccas i eva seen.

    you got dem skillz son.

  • Really nice use of colors. Like the multi snares.

    best-kai

  • ok this is awasome man, i love v-drums, my td-6 is on the way and i will make a video of it to!

  • Hey bazy... Actually I spent a few hours virtually completely eq'ing out the fairly minimal drum track before recording this. When my track is layed over it, you can't even hear the old one. Again, this was posted to illustrate one-take live recording of very precise groove playing. I'll be posting lots more both groove stuff and lots of chops tracks (weckl, minnemann, chambers, etc) very soon. Check back!

  • Ok...but what does it sound like without the Rippingtons percussion section filling in the holes? No tracks man...tap sequences yes...but tracks...no. If I am watching and trying to figure out if you are Da Bomb or not, then I want to see and hear it raw. It looks like you have got it bro...so let it stand on its own. BzB
