I went out on a date with a "older"guy "DAVE CASEY" who, I found out rapes our land and sends the coal to China. When I asked him why he thought this was okay, he said, "America does not want it!" He also manufactures Corn Syrup in the US and he told me Coke now uses more and more caffine too.
China's reliance on coal - it has little gas or oil - is huge. The fossil fuel supplies more than 70% of the country's power needs; so vast are the coal mining and burning industries that 16 of the world's 20 polluted cities are in China!
First of all it's far FAR less expensive to produce electricity using coal than any other source. Coal is much cheaper - on a lifecycle of the plant per KWH basis, and that's true in most of the world, not just here in the US. This propaganda film is inaccurate. Coal ash is not inherently toxic, it contains similar levels of trace elements to ALL soils! It is similar to fine sand; The operators of that plant are not handling ash, or wastewater properly, but it DOES NOT have to be that way.
China is neither green nor clean. It's a major polluter that promises to clean up its act — someday.

China burns more coal (by far) and emits more greenhouse gases than any other country. It sells more automobiles than any other country too (it passed the United States last year). And all those bad numbers are still going up, because China's No. 1 goal is increasing industrial production, not protecting the environment.
To stop the escalating of environmental catastrophe, China must be stopped half of whole its industry for several years. Unfortunately, China will not do it. They can`t do it.
@Jbanto well the governments need to charge tax on users of non renewable fuel sources. 30% goes to the governments while the rest goes towards research. if you say it would take decades to quit coal the problem is that if we dont quit coal soon one day we wont find any and because we didnt prepare for that day the whole world will go back to the stonage. message me if you want to have a proper discusion about the matter. QUIT COAL
The excuse is always financial. Ironically, there are 1000s of entrepreneurs who would readily pump in the money if oil and coal lobbyists didn't pull the strings of world government.
The answers are there. The tec is there. From solar-power to water-splitting stations (Hydrogen could solve our energy problems overnight) but no...we'd rather sit back, pay $5 a gallon & let the corpocracy ride roughshod over us.
The only people to blame is us. Vote with your wallets.
Greenpeace shouldn't protest against all coal power plants. They should just target those that are not disposing their waste safely. Coal is important for energy production as most kinds are good for energy demand spikes but CCS is available in this day and age, so Greenpeace should focus on safe disposal methods such as CCS instead of saying no to coal full stop
@Nightzo Most of mercury ends up in the air. Ash contains heavy metals and is toxic. The older the coal more heavy metals it contains. Uranium being one of them.
There is no clean coal. There is only coal with more or less mercury and other heavy metals.
The globalization our Western nations push on China and others pushes the energy sectors to produce more and more electricity with, among other things, coal and corrupt rural inner provinces environmentally. Green Peace now.
the cost of no coal, 375 million of people in china without electricity freezing to death. How about targetting at the US greenpeace? Do you know that china is the world largest investor of alternative energy? all you dumb shit
@revron77 Yes, Mercury. Did you know that for every 4Kgs of coal burnt there is 1mg of Mercury put into the air? Eco bulbs put less mercury into the air because they use only a small amount that is contained.
@madjimms The amount of Mercury in the bulb is considered (Level B of Hazmat) Something that is very dangerous. And coal has 1mg, bulbs have 12mg. Both a great danger to Population health. But the government’s doesn’t care so....................
@revron77 Yes, & more coal is needed to get more electricity for a incandescent bulb.... If the mercury stays in the bulb it causes no harm.................
there is this program on national geographic called chain reaction.
one that i saw was "world without oil". then ppl would resort to coal again. another one was if the population doubled, and coal was the choice to produce more energy.
we just can't let this happen. there are cleaner methods, we should use them!
dude, if we want a greener world, we gotta start from the roots of our pollutions, the power plants, if only chinese power plants care more about our environment...

@Nightzo coal is terrible. we dont need coal / oil to live. coal produces alot of co2. it is cheaper these days to run a renewable power station.
