all the time your helmet is out of the shot and you don't explain it well. how do you tuck the straps in?

@126adamski You just have to wrap the straps around a couple of times to make it work. Send me a video response maybe so I can see what your problem is.

Yes it can attach to a jacket as long as it is going around your arm or something. :)

@bananakiller21 the mount is called a Vented Helmet Strap. if the helmet has 'vents' then yes, but if the helmet is the same such as my motorbike helmet, then no, but the helmet hero does come with sticky mounts that work perfectly on motorbike helmets and do not come off easily ;) but... definitely worth it!

I was always reluctant to attach the camera without the vents because I just felt like it would fall off.

i have a gopro surf hero with the adhesive on the bottom but can i still put it on my helmet?

@MHMonsie No I would not just put the camera on the helmet with the adhesive. I would not take the chance that the camera would fall off. :)

Ryan~ I was just looking at that same exact helmet at REI. Great price and made for the water, I will be using my cam for wakeboarding, offshore fishing and some shallow diving. My question is not about kiteboarding but rather what video editing program are you using? I received my Go Pro yesterday and video'd the "unboxing". I have a flip cam I used as well so I have quick time and MPEG4 videos to splice. Anything decent and free on the web? TIA.

@tldodds Hey Tristram, Some great editing software... hum.. there are so many. I think IMovie is about the easiest to use. Also you can try Camstudio if you use Windows. Pinnacle is pretty good or Sony Vegas for Windows. Hope that helps. :)

@ryansteinolfson Because you use the helmet front mount, you don't need the J-hook. But try attaching your gopro to a normal mount and you will understand. Today I received the J-hook and the mounting works perfectly.

@ryansteinolfson The gopro front helmet mount has a J-hook-clip, it's the thing you clip onto the vented helm strap. If you try to mount the gopro with a normal mount (horizontal), it won't work. Today I received my J-hook clip. I attached everything and it looks very good, can't wait to try it.

Last week I bought a helmet with (4) vents on the front and today I will receive my vented helm strap, I hope it will fit just as good as on your helmet. The video is very clear and gives a good understanding of what the vented helm strap really is. Because of this video I decided not to mount my gopro with a sticky mount, but with the vented helm strap.

@ryansteinolfson I have one note, you need a J-hook buckle to attach the camera to something vertical, like this helmet. I didn't have it, so I ordered it. But I have already received the vented helm strap and it really works well. I have a Jobe Hustler helmet, size L, and the vents are spaced just right. Can't wait to try it on the water. The distance between the helmet vents may differ on different sizes. I am considering to buy a protec helmet, so I need to know the size. I don't need to now how big your head is :-)

@windsurfrolf I don't think the vent spacing will be much different based on the various sizes of helmets. I think the size of the helmet is a large. I will confirm later. Did the video help you though? If not what else do you want to know?
