fun fact... that guitar has an extra piece of wood placed into the top of the neck because the edge broke it intervening with a fight during a show in the '80s. he threw it off and broke it to prevent anybody from getting hurt further. if that's not love for fans then i dont know what is.

Um no - this is the pretty much the same tempo it's always been performed at - it's just that it doesn't have the same "edge" (excuse the pun) that it did back in the 80s - Bono also tends to drag out (almost slur) the phrases now which makes it seem slower. I still think the live cut on Under a Blood Red Sky is the best.
