  • Thank you so much Now i know how to keep my new orchid happy. You were so helpful

  • Thank you for your video. It is very helpful. I am going to try re-potting my orchid this weekend.

  • Great info. thank you for sharing.

  • Hi, i was wondering if you can help me figure out why my phal orchid roots are reddish orange?

  • @heronsweety

Thank you for your inquiry. I'm curious to know the condition of the leaves and what color the roots were when you first acquired your orchid.

  • @gardeningchef

Most phalaenopsis roots are green with a silver hue over it. Dead roots are usually reddish brown and dehydrated.

  • OMGGGGGGG my poor orchid! I bought mine a year ago and had no idea i was suppose to do this!!!....buying the mix online as i type!....good thing i found this video thank youuuuu!

  • When is the best time to repot a Phalaenopsis? New flowers pop up as soon as the old ones dies on my orchids and I don't wan't to stress it or something like that. Great vid by the way!

  • Thanks a lot. This video is very helpful and I can see a lot of passion for orchids. Just a short quesion. Do you suggest to use transparents vases in order to help the roots or it is not necessary?

  • @DANYNEVER

Thank you for asking. Some people prefer transparent plastic pots to better view the root mass and water retention which is not necessary. Personally, I prefer clay pots which are more porous. This allows drying of the roots between watering and improve air circulation. Too many times orchids die due to poor drainage and poor air circulation. I hope this helps.

  • Can you make an orchid care video?

  • Wow nice collection mate, thanks for sharing,if you use airconditioned water is good for the orchids?

  • the hole in the bottom of the pot i think that is too small.Orchids need pots with a big number of holes on the bottom of the pot because the water like to run away of the pot and аllow good air circulation for the roots. By the way your vid is very nice! :)

  • do you have to keep repotting it couse when i bought my orchid they said i need to keep repotting it

  • @samorivideos6

Thank you for your inquiry. Repotting orchids depends upon root mass. If the roots have significantly overgrown the pot, it is time to repot. I have roots that like to grow outside the pot which is fine but as the root mass increases, you may consider repotting. I tend not to repot unless necessary only because orchids prefer to be undisturbed. Find a pot size not too large that the orchid feels unsettled, taking longer for it to establish- they like to be snug. Enjoy the orchid

  • @gardeningchef ok makes seance couse when my orchid was over growing i didn't know if i should leave it alone.

  • Thanks so much! It's very helpful!

  • Awesome video! Thank you so much for posting this. I was really worried about re-potting my orchid. This made me feel a lot more comfortable about doing it. I got my orchid about a year ago and I've managed to keep it alive ;) Not bad for a first timer, and I'm a guy lol. Thanks again for everything; keep posting, you're great =)

  • If you dont want the soil to retain water you can soak the orchid mix in water overnight and them let it dry out for 2-3 days.

  • I thought your video was great. My husband brought home 3 small orchids from a catering event and I have been taking care of them blindly for many months. Now I know how to re-pot them as they are growing out of their original containers and one has stopped flowering. The other 2 continue to grow new stalks off of the original and re-flower. Thank you!

  • Pls keep up the great work ....now my orchids will love me

  • This is a very informative video. I like the step by step instructions. Now all orchids lovers know how to repot orchids without a lot help. Thanks. Betty
