I think Tia can call herself a Christian, I mean who are we to judge. Also as far as the double standard for an acting role is the music industry is broken down in different categories. You have you gospel, r&b, pop, and etc. And Gospel artists can make a pretty decent living but as actress to only accept certain roles she will limit herself. Don't get me wrong...I love Tia and Tamera...think the world of them...I ALSO MAKE MISTAKES TOO...POOR JUDGEMENTS THAT SEND ME TO MY KNEES that's all I am saying...her role was a mistake (in my opinion)! I hear you, but just because her character has positive roles mixed with the bad roles that I called out, does not make it right to present herself in that way. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "...whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God."

She should not have taken that role if she really wants to represent Christ in all she does. Her character's behavior represents what is in the world-SIN. Don't hate!..Just calling it for what it is! Poor judgment on her part for accepting the role.

Okay, so lets break this down. Yes, Melanie is shacking up with her boy, cursing other women out etc etc. Where has it gotten her? Her man has a baby mama and she's been shoved to second place. As I said, you can look at this from two perspectives - you can allow yourself to be blinded by her unchristian character's actions, or you can conclude that she would be better off if she'd stuck with her parents wishes.

as an 18yr i really look up to tia/tamera.you have to do things to recognized as a serious actress even if it means playing a role you dont agree with.you cant be picky as a newcomer.nobody said kirk franklin wasnt a christian with that whole porn addiction thing and im sure denzel didnt agree with the ethics of a croocked cop in training day but he did it because the character didnt reflect his beliefs in real life. tia is "playing" a role.she's TIA NOT MELANI and tia is a christian not melani.

Years ago Tia did an interiew with her sister about being Christian in Hollywood. And she talked about the importance of taking roles that don't compromise her beliefs. I'll be honest when I first saw her in this show I was pretty shocked. Only because she said specifically that her and her sister won't do parts where they have to curse or dress a certain way or whatever, and this role is everything she previously said she wouldnt do.

yea it is...but i noticed that even though mel doesnt truly portray tia...each episode of the game places something that does witness to the audience..for example, derwin praying b4 they checked her grade, the christian coach and derwin talking about how God helped him when he was down during the bible study scene..and sooo many other things..i can tell that Tia compromised with the producers in some way and her input can definitely be seen in the show
