  • Happy New Year...Long Live Hawkwind the GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!

  • 10 people didn't take a ride on a Silver Machine.

  • GOOD SONG!!!! ☮

  • WOW! That's just as I remember it at Stonehenge. Not the visuals obviously; They were unique to each person there. :))

Thank you for sharing this incredible upload.

Hope you don't get any more problems with it. :*

  • Hawkwind is relentless - by far the best band ever [if u could call this space creature. . . a band] in the cosmic stratosphere and beyond ad initum 8. . . forever and never and never. . . . if you are an artist who paints and sculpts [etc.] and you never listenned to Hawkwind then you are fooling yourself

  • Awesome video! Cosmos be with you.

  • this video is genius

  • Stonehenge 81... Happy days!

  • ace oh yer memories of stonehenge 1984.

  • Thank you for uploading rp61wasinnocentok Great quality !!!

  • One of my fave Hawkwind tracks. Thanks for uploading.

  • total Sweetness ...Universal love :)

  • That change at 3:26 makes life worthwhile.

  • @Rocktopus And I thought I was the only one who felt that way!

  • Lemmy sang on this, I know.....I was there.

  • @peroduanippa

You were where? In the studio while they were recording it?

    It's Dave Brock on vocals.

  • @zombiewoof63

Yeah, that's right Dave Brock on vocals, but Lemmy was singing on this track, I should know, I've got a Hawkwind tattoo you know, bet you haven't.

  • Comment removed

  • @peroduanippa

I don't understand what difference the tattoo makes.

Every resource I can find lists Dave Brock as vocalist, including the original vinyl album that I have just put back on the shelf.

More to the point, it's clearly Dave's voice we can hear. I've seen them live more than 50 times and have been listening to their albums for 40 years, I know it well.

But if you were there at the recording, and have a tattoo, I guess you must be right.

  • @zombiewoof63

hey 50 times that's a lot, I thought I'd seen them a lot of times (about 25 or more) I've never seen them for a few years though. I made the comment about Lemmy from my memory, but since you mention it, I had a look on Google, and if you search "doremi fasol latido"and look in wikipedia it states that Lemmy sang on "space is deep" and "the watcher". Have you ever seen Nick Turner's band "Space Ritual"? I like them, they're old style Hawkwind. Tomorrow get yourself a Tattoo !

  • @peroduanippa

    I'm too old for tattoos.

The point I'm trying to make is that the lead vocal on the studio version of Space is Deep (The version uploaded here) is Dave Brock. I can't understand why you would think otherwise after hearing it. The watcher is, as you say, Lemmy. Although he, and the rest of the band seem to be close to unconsciousness.

A friend an I were mugged on the train in central London on the way to see Nick Turner. We didn't make it to the gig. I might try again one day.

  • why does man try to act so tall????

  • @gashloog do not ask man. man is materia. ask rather why does materia try to act tall? materia strives towards it's self awareness. don't ask me why, but here we are. and soon materia will see its birth via CERN. hopefully. hugs to you: materias awareness manifestated!

  • I've just found my girlfrien! at the minute 4:02! who she is?

  • This video freaked me out a little bit there. I started thinking "Maybe they didn't go to the moon, it really does look staged & why ain't there any stars in the sky & etc. etc. ....." then I thought "So what, I'll be dead in 28 years, Fuck 'em"

  • How have I never heard this before?

  • Probably my very best Hawkwind song...and there's a hell of a lot of competition

  • si señor que no tenia nociones de algo como esto !!

  • This video is sooo cool...it captures the era & the world events at that time...great tune from Hawkwind too :)

  • Im going to drop some acid and listen to this shit later.

  • @slashngrab Did you have fun?

  • I would have loved to have grown up in that era: Hawkwind, The Rolling Stones, Lennon, the first space travel, 2001: A Space Odyssey... Fantastic! This video is a great observation on all of that.

  • Another fantastic track from Hawkwind

  • lol 4:45

  • cracking choon ;-)

  • Best country music song ever. Long live country

  • I just don't get R'n'B, it's a bit lame. Px.

  • The Golden Void is the song that brings up emotion for me. Hawkwind are so good at pushing the tear button.

  • makes hair that's no longer even there stand on end ..

  • Remember when we were kids growing up & the Yanks were laying the Apollo sh!t on the world & space was indeed the final frontier & then the Hawklords layed this on our spaced out minds - I AM STILL OUT THERE MANNNN.

    Peace ........................................

  • Holy shit, this song is so indescribably beautiful. I think I'm getting a high from it. :p

  • The part from 3.15 makes my mind trip out

  • Saw them loads of times so far ahead of their time fantastic band great live

  • Anyways my children of the Sun..just chill and let the Brock Effect take Control

Love and Peace and Hawkwind Forever..this track is my favorite Hawkwind tune of all time by the way..it is so good it brings me to tears

    peace - Mike

  • @veedub50 I agree...

The track 'The Demented Man' also has that effect on me, Take a look at my latest video creation I just posted (see video response) I put this together last night because of your comment ;-)

  • @veedub50 Me too its just AWESOME!!!!

  • one of my favourites !

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO takes me right back to my hippy days, flared jeans, tie&dye tea-shirt, bare feet , long hair and a floppy hat. !!!!

Munching cakes with that "Added something". !!!!!

  • is this my favourite hawkwind track yes! but if asked i would not say this one why ? is that ? best track ever ,just not instantly rememberable is that a word lol thanks for upload

  • choose yer masques tour in Aberdeen...fuckin magic....to hell wi the last bus home...

  • Perhaps the greatest thing I've ever fucking seen on the fucking internet

    BRILLIANT upload mate

  • space is deep from the live album space ritual is one of the best songs ive ever heard .i never get tired of listening to it

  • Six people have never been to space.

  • Just heard of this band and have been listening to a couple of songs and I think this band will now be one of my new favorites. My all time favorite though will always be Nazareth.

  • Unreal It would be nice to do a Hawkwind montage without having to look for the songs and graphics - can someone do it for me - i'm still learning how to type.

Did see these guys at Reading in '74 and also at Bracknell with Al Green as support,

    Stacia was OK.

  • Great band and a great video. Thanks for posting !

  • HAWKWIND and EARTH CULTURE where the best new age bands of the time

  • @sexyEmma4u

    and amon duul

  • God i took so many drugs...and fuckin loved it.....

  • Thank you so much rp61---. What an awesome vid !! I lost my entire Hawkwind collection after lending them to a friend who schizoed out & burned the lot !! Also got me thinking of what a great achievement it was to send men to the moon. Many don't realize that once in the vacuum of space, you can't turn, & if you miss your mark, you're screwed !! And they did it with 'dinosaur computers' with less computing power then my current gaming rig !!!!

  • great stonner music my boy of 18 listens to all my old hawkwind albums smoking grass with his pals they all love it best times brag fae glasgow

  • we all know why we're here.. we've (mostly) all been on 'that' journey .. this was one of the songs which accompanied me :)

  • Nice effort, just random pictures though,I see no chronological order.

You can't go wrong though ,with a track like this.

  • wonderful .. Go Lemmy ! .. its a great bassline to play took a while to get, but superb :)

  • @3:30 - priceless !

  • Going to see Hawkwind in June, they're at Hellfest, so doing some checking out, well impressed

  • this song is FUCKING ORGASMIC it makes me want to hop into a space shuttle and light up some icky sticky

  • nice!Cool!

  • Feels like i am floating away on a magic carpet to the land of LSD

  • fuuuuck#

    yes.

  • whooa... mind trip

  • Is this the space ritual version?

  • @Swifdler ....I have it either on Roadhawks or Warrior on the Edge of Time....can't be arsed to go and trawl through the vinyl...saw HW in Brum in November 1982....OMG!...AWESOME....and I only paid 4 measley quid!

  • In years to come the people of the earth will return to all that is good and with them shall they carry many a tune. Hawkind wiil be amongst them, enough said.

  • happy days enjoy snow cant beleive brock 69 my hobby ham radio no sun spots 1 very cold winter i know

  • Yeah you're right grindermanful, thought i'd seen it before but I just couldn't place it.

  • One of the first bands i got into when i first turned on in the70'sLove it still.Happy memories

  • Nice one mate

  • For br4ve, the track i've used here is just the original released version, maybe you just have a bad copy or something.

Not sure where the b&w festival footage is from, could be Woodstock but I may be wrong. I'm sure somebody will let us know if that's incorrect...

  • Saw them tonight,Not as punchy as the 'Alan Davey' Assault and battery/Utopia stuff.

Tim Blake took up a bit of slack. The support band 'The Jokers' were a lot better. With the emphasis on 'a lot' imho.

If songs have to be ten minutes long, play the best fucking songs Brockster, or I'll sulk and listen to Huw...Motorway City well it ain't the same.Lighting up the night sky...with an orange flame....Huw + Brock = Magic

  • @trp61wasinnocentok the stones in hyde park

  • @rp61wasinnocentok This has to be one of my all-time favorite Hawkwind tracks... Thanx for this my friend!

    Az

  • Also 3:53 where was that film taken?

  • where is this from? mega-remastered, sounds amazing

  • 6 people never left earth

  • I'm new to Hawkwind, but I've fallen for it already.

    Thank you for uploading, Peace.

  • I love it! xD

  • ENGLAND MAY LOSE AT ALL THE GAMES THEY

INVENTED BUT THIER MUSICIANS BANDS ARTISTS

    ARE SECOND TO NONE.

    HAWKWIND ARE ESPECIALLY AMAZING

  • Astounding video. I love it. Thank you.

    Dr. Professor S

  • I just wanted to hear this track again. Good to know music still holds people together without confrontation !?? While I'm about it - some guy says Hawkwind are playing somewhere coming up ?? I bet you are still sticking to your old yard brush also - you know the one- that you have replaced the brush head twice and the handle once only? Thanks for the posting though. If you want some up to date space music mixing - real NASA uplinks included - try SOMA .FM (internet) San Francisco station.

  • Awesome video, awesome song.

White people (Europeans) are the only ones who've put people on the Moon.

    +

  • I used to sit around the stereo getting stoned and listening to these guys...That was when they first started.. I still do!!

  • BOB SPONGE BOB IS WHERE THE PATRICE??

  • billy no mates .... hahaha just great!

  • want to say something philosophical about generations and culture shock and social change but at the moment I'm stuck on stupid.

  • what type of faggot makes a video and then disables embedding. you should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @ChoirofWolves

    Boo! Hoo!

It's disabled for a reason shit for brains.

And one i'm not explaining to a cheeky fucker like you...

My video, my choice, deal with it Billy no mates...

  • @rp61wasinnocentok ................ Word that fucka. Like it and thank for posting an amazing tune and video............. Thank you rp61wasinnocentok :-)

  • @rp61wasinnocentok ....like it .....nice retort - made my day :)

he must indeed like to hammer the fist in the dark ...to write such cheek - superb vid and all respect

  • @rp61wasinnocentok

    "Billy no mates"

Ah! A VIZ reader AND a Hawkwind fan!!!

    A very rare breed indeed...

I like your style my friend...

  • @rp61wasinnocentok what is embedding? and why disable it? had to come here , but i suppose if i ask politely you'll let me in on the secret ;) lol

  • @maidenkid84 Every video that's uploaded gets its own code, which if allowed, others can use to copy and embed it onto other sites, blogs etc. If it's disabled you can't... I disable all mine now because I was fed up of those that continued to just re-upload mine back onto YouTube when it's already there, and generally trying to take credit for it. I create a lot of the videos that are on my channel, and I don't like the thought of mine or anyone else's work being used like that.

  • @ChoirofWolves you ass

  • @ChoirofWolves you ass

  • far out man .... just love that synthi a.

  • Is Dave Brock still alive?

  • wot iz it abowt then

  • @happyenjoytime

    U idyot...

  • @rp61wasinnocentok you be nice...love n peace & all that...! Thanks for putting some fab Hawkwind on here tho babes...I haven't heard this stuff for years & years.....brings back a lot of very good memories :)

  • Thanks for making this video.

  • cool video

  • Brilliant Video. I remember seeing all these clips on the TV way back when. Thinks: if it has been publicly broadcast on TV, how come UTub can claim that you can't put it on here for public broadcast?

  • @slaynt Hi, i'm not sure what you mean. If your comment is made by what I said in the video description, I just meant it was deleted, but so did all the others on my first account because...

I had stuff in there that had logo's in the corner, namely mtv & vh-1. And a few years back the company Viacom had YouTube delete thousands of accounts that had them. Anyway I learnt my lesson, not sure how all that stands today. I see a few about but I do my own thing now, it keeps all that crap at bay...

  • 55 and steel in love with this

  • Hey, nice work rp61. Very cool indeed -captures the tone and sense of exploration along with the social change in the early 70s the band was, well, defying. I've loved Hawkwind since I was 15 -for those out there who are just discovering or not quite sure where to find their music, it's there -remember a must-have like "The Space Ritual," the brilliant double live album, was actually in the the top 40 way back then. The single "Silver Machine," which made the top 10, funded that tour.

  • This is Epic... -db-

  • this is friggin intense :D

  • Hey...youve constucted a really good peice there mate. For what its worth coming from me..."Well done".Grew up surrounded by Hawkwind-they truly were(and still ARE)one of the all time greats.National Treasures.Seriously considering going in December to Bedford Corn Exchange to see them again.Anyway...nuff of my ramblings!once again...well done matey.LOL.

  • What year is the song from? I'll take a wild guess 74? ''I have no idea..

  • @dannyhood66 You were close, it's from 1972

  • @rp61wasinnocentok That trips me out cause the production on this is so much better than that one album with blue background angel front cover..That albums production from hawk wind I'll never understand? The only way to listen to that type of production is acid,''I think even die hard hawk wind fans can't tolerate it but what the fuck do i know about them,'' other than Lemmy joining later and sharing a room with that chic that used to get on stage?

  • great song, great video. Hawkwind's golden period

  • shrooms and hawkwind, nice....

  • okay first time hearing anything other then silver machine by hawkwind.....so far sounds sweet!

  • Wow, talk about the Age of Aquarius: Rockets and rebellion!

  • @petreplica Hello bud :) nice one hope/im sure u had a wicked time mate :D yeah your right they are a dynasty an institution a religion church of hawkwind is the only f#'#ing religon i will follow they are truly awesome no matter who seems to be in them at whatever time ( although calvert days are my fav ) they all rock ;D

take care bro aura best ;D

    ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND !!!

  • As for me, I prefer Silver Machine ;)))))))

  • mmm nice

  • This is one of the best songs I have heard all year.

  • Im so stoned.. this is excellent

  • Excellent footage thanks rp61wasinnocentok ;D

@MUTHA70 yes indeed they are truly truly amazing without a doubt the most influential ahead of their time band that never got the credit they deserved ( or wanted ) always glad to see people getting turned on to "the wind" wish u much love + happy listening :)

    ALWAYS AND FOREVER HAWKWIND!!!!!

  • @plisplis00

Just got back from Hawkfest in Isle of Wight. This year celebrated 40yrs since original fest. Members come and go and return. Dave Brock is still there as always . Still F####ing rockin' and giving it large . Hawkwind aint a band, it's a dynasty. Always touring so go see them.!

  • do not panic

  • seen HAWKWIND twica=an amazing band!!!

  • good . in my opinion the 2nd and 3rd albums were by far the best of hawkwind ( in search of space and doremi fasol lati do ) nice and spacey and great on acid or doped up. erm im talking abouyt 1972 and 1973 lol

  • If you ever listen to the actual NASA radio wave recording of various solar system planets (such as Jupiter or Saturn) then one thing you realize is that the electronica music here played by Hawkwind sound alot like the NASA radiowave recordings of these planets.

  • This song and the video are fantastic!! Never heard of these guys but count me among their fans as of today. This was instantly added to my favorites.

  • you've done well with the video

  • Fucking orgasmic!

Good job on the video too, the footage fits together effortlessly with the climax of the music, and I love how you've combined footage of isolated space with footage of people being united through the medium of music. Thanks.

  • Love this Song FUK YA!

  • Classic fantastic stuff

  • amazing stuff!!

  • why has it taken so long for me to find this band...they're great?!!!

  • @MUTHA70 Heh! Don't beat yourself up too much about it, these things happen. Just grab it with both hands, find everything you can by the band and don't look back :)

  • @rp61wasinnocentok

    Good Advice...

  • @MUTHA70

You would have found them quicker if you could still get acid like we got back in '71. I was only 11 my first hit of clear light took me directly to Hawkwind.

  • @jlepire1962 Dude, I'm just trippin' on the vid, and the music just freaks me out. It's a whole new experience :)

  • Go see 'em live; they are still going strongish!

  • need something to smoke xD

  • i shared a flat in Chelsea with Simon the dog master (Simon king) in 72 - Lemmy and Brock lived downstairs - saw them perform in early 72 - great video thanks

  • how did you find this??? I didn't know there was a studio version of this song!!!

  • @AXEVYPER It wasn't really that difficult to find,

it's on the bands 3rd album release...

    Doremi Fasol Latido (1972)

  • @AXEVYPER thanks a lot!!!

  • fasten your seatbells and float away

  • awesome...got the lights off...to feel it

  • i have every album they made and saw them live in dunstable in 1975 with motorhead as the support group, may their music live forever

  • Please could somebody tell me the chords of the chorus(Is this the reason, deep in our mind...)???

  • Very nice video for one of the all time classics. Space Ritual was definitely their peak.

  • out of this world man.....got this on my Roadhawks album.....one of many

  • Absolutely superb, thanks rp. My fave Hawkwind tune and you've done it proud...

  • I recormend church of Hawkvind and all of Dr Technical.

  • This is absolutely a masterpiece of video work, set to this masterpiece of spacerock. F**KING GENIUS, BRAVO!!!! KILLER!!!!!

  • I have just ho appena conosciuto questo gruppo, penso sia amore a primo ascolto

  • A few songs for u happyjessus, some of my favourites. Mirror of illusion, children of the sun, hurry on sundown, we took the wrong step, space is deep,

  • This is Hawkwind, the ideology.

  • This track, Space Is Deep, marks an unparalled excursion the mighty Hawkcrew - albeit inadvertantly - were ever to embark upon - quantum leaps thru Deep Space Nine! And they lived to tell the story! ; )

    Thanx for a wicked video!

    Peace, Az

  • one of the best bands ever. saw them in chicago in 77. when they played refer madness. they threw joints into the crowd. one of the best bands ever
