Wow, this tip has helped many! My 1999 Nissan Quest appears to have the same problem. Cylinder #3 not working (misfire) and no smell of fuel. This cylinder is behind the intake manifold. How do I access the injector and try this tip? Please help. I don't want to spend $1000 to replace injector (quote from dealer). Thanks!

Thanks I have a bad miss that fixed with B12 Chemtool fuel injection cleaner. BUT it still idles bad! I will try this fix. yeah hope it works.

Awesome idea...did this 4 years on my '89 Maxima.... but only works when the injectors are accessible. My '99 Tahoe has the hidden "Poppet" injectors :(

This really helped me out on a 1986 Fiero with a 2.5Liter motor in it an only 1 injector but I taped on it an car is running 100% at tops again thanks for the info. ;-)

hey mate does this work on 3.0 engines i've got z 300zx z32, one injector i can hear clicking but its barely spraying any fuel and one injector that does not make a clicking sound at all. Can they be dead or will your method work as i see it says this trick works on 3.1 and .3.4 engines but i got a 3.0

Thanks a lot. After changing plugs, wires and coils I still had the same problem. I then saw your video, tried it, and it worked! It saved me so much time and money since I was already considering the more tecnically complicated stuff like spark voltage testing, gasket leaks, and replacing the fuel injector. Great tip!!! Hello GreatAutoHelp,...started the car this morning...getting a very slight of knocking noise. Released the pressure coming from the fuel feed, removed the fuel rail, and notice the #4 injector has some cracks at the spray tips. Would this cause the car to stumble at idle or hinder performance? Perhaps it is on its way out, that could be why this injector starting to crack...due to it not operating to its full potential...maybe i'm wrong. Can you please help? my girlfriend has a 05 chevy equinox with the 3.4 in it, where is the fuel pressure regulator located at in that year? is it behind the intake manifold?

This is a great tip but how on earth do you get to #1 on a montana?? I get a misfire on #1 and it came out of nowhere on a long road trip. Full tune up 35K ago. 148K on the motor. HELP??? Thanks

After a year of trying to track down a hesitation/stumble I noticed a few clues along the diagnosis trail. When I removed the exhaust manifold to fix a crack in it, I noticed the #1 port was white inside while the other ports were carbon black. Also, checked the manifold temperature at each cylinder with an infrared temp gun and #1 cylinder was 100 degrees cooler than the others. I tried tapping with screwdriver handle, no improvement. Did it with the extension and hammer, viola! Ran perfect.

i cant get my car started to do that. i have a 86 300zx and its in the shop now for 2weeks. either they are slow or not working on it at all. they said my fuel pump is good and the engine is getting fire but it will not start. it just turns and turns. but when they dumped gas into the intake it started up. then they said my injectors must be clogged. please help its my baby!

doesn't work on mine.

my injector still sprays, but at certain rpm it does not spray enough gasoline making the engine vibrates.

tried tapping it at that certain rpm. no luck. only scratching the injector body.

will go to injector cleaner tomorrow. they have special machine to clean it up.

how do u take off the motor mount on the front passenger side????

you would have to remove the powersteering pump first, then it should only be 4 bolts, 2 big and 2 small nuts. Remember to put a jack( with a block of wood or rubber strip on in) under the oil pan of the engine to keep the engine from leaning and putting all the weight on the other mounts, as well as keeping you from striping the bolts as the mount comes loose.

I have a 3.4 in my pontiac changed the plugs wires and fuel filter. it improved But I get all sorts of injector clicking until it warms up then smooth and quiet

Tried inject cleaner same issue will try a tap tomorrow

I was thinking a coil pack seen as it hesitates while driving intermitent running 55mph and studder and smooth again 5 mins or so later it happens again,,, Ugh never a problem 73,000 miles on car my 3.1 lasted me 198,000 before traded

i got a 1994 olds with the 3.1 ..... the car runs fine but ... the car is misfiring or something like this ... when i launch , the car lost performance like 1 second and after it ok ..... i push the gaz pedal and 'burp ...... vroom he launch.... maybe a dirty injector ? lol sorry for my bad english .... if someone can help me or maybe if i do this like in the video it will fix the problem ? thanks !

you can also use a stethoscope to listen to each injector. you should be able to hear it click while the engine is running.

That does not always work, because if the the lower end of the injector is plugged, the solenoid will still click, but no fuel will flow through.

thanks.. I HAVE A GRAND AM.. THAT SMELLS LIKE GAS ... I HAVE CHANGED THE fuel REGULATOR, because i saw that was lossin some gasoline, i have gone to clean the inyectors like 3 times and always the same arround 3 weeks later. i change also the AIR VALVE that liitle one... i have cheched the FUEL BOMB AND THEY SAY THAT IS ok ... But the cars FEELS SLOW .. AND SMELLS LIKE smoggg.. :(

i have the same problem, i changed The Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter , Fuel Pipes , Cleaned The Injectors , Changed The Spark Plugs, Spark Plugs Wires.....on my chevy impala 02 , still not fixed

Cleaning fuel injectors does not always work. May have a bad one. Or possibly one of the rocker arm bolts has pulled out of the cylinder head, therfore is not moving.
