  • @Shamelesslilly she still has to entertain customers and keep up with appointments during the evenings and at night, that is also part of her job and training :)

  • what did she means by she 'works' from 6 to midnight? she said that she gets her geisha outfit on and then works, but she is in training so what is work for her?

  • Your editing sucks, in and out every question

  • @faepmagn7 your feedback sucks as well

  • The word maiko means dancing child..

  • why is there chinese music in the background?

  • She had her Misedashi in 2006 so 2011 would be the year for her to have her Erikae :)

  • lol what a fucked up question to ask

"DID YOU FUCKING CRY LITTLE BABY???" LOL

  • she's so cute >.<

  • Kikune is so adorable :) she's got a really sweet voice :)

  • As Maiko-san Kikune is now a senior maiko i wonder when she will have her Eri-kae - i wish her all the best as a Geiko.

    Thats one cute girl!

  • geez i would be dead if i only had 6 hours of sleep every night!

  • @samdarling22 i wouldn't thats like all i get

  • meiko, is incorrect i dont understand why people say meiko, its maiko as in 'dance' or 'to dance'

  • fantastica *_*

  • I do not think they are ever called "meiko", it's always "maiko", the "mai" being the character for dance. "meiko" is probably a misunderstanding.

  • thank you for your comment. Yes, i have been told that before. I think maiko is the more common spelling, I took the other spelling from Memoirs of a Geisha.

  • @amazingwomenrock Memoirs of a Geisha is an inaccurate piece of fictional literature. Please don't use it as a resource.

  • @amazingwomenrock In my copy of Memoirs they never spell maiko as meiko.

  • So this is two years after that documentary? Or is this a different Kikune?

  • I think she must be different... which is the documentary to which you refer?

  • No idea... Sorry :(

  • You're welcome. I've just posted part 3. Part 4, the last bit to follow next week :)

  • After years of reading and loving these culture, Im still fascinated with the way maiko and geiko are so calm, mysterious, modest & at the same time happy & cheerful.

One of my biggest and wildest dreams are to train to become a geiko in the future.

I know this is a really wild pursuit and that it has only happened 1 time ever for a foreigner, but what do you personally think they would approach someone who tries? Did someone of them say something about this?

    Thank you so much! /Liza

  • Hey Liza - I didn't ask that question, but I think for a start you would have to learn Japanese....

  • Yes ofcourse. But then?

  • Thankyou so much for this interview on a Maiko-san! I have been wondering for a while what their daily scedule was, I could never survive on only about 5-6 hours of sleep!

  • It only takes them 3 hours to bathe, eat dinner, and get primped?!?! And it seems like that would be their leisurely part of the day, even. They really are amazing women... It takes me that long to get ready in the morning and I'm a 1000% less glamorous. :)

  • omg, THANK YOU for this video, "amazingwomenrock"! what a find! :)
