Melvin Goins has a well deserved permanent place in bluegrass history. His work with the Goins Brothers was second to none and model for other tradition minded musicians. The Goins brothers were the essence of old time traditional bluegrass.
I have been looking for video with Melvin Goins on you tube for a long time. I'm glad that somebody finally put Melvin on Youtube, THANK YOU! My experience is that he is truly a great musician and singer, a fine gentleman and an all around great human being. Melvin is living history. IF YOU EVER GET A CHANCE TO SEE AND HEAR MELVIN LIVE DO NOT MISS IT! Melvin is the real deal!

Melvin is hardly an amateur at "best" he is an original member of the great Lonesome Pine Fiddlers of the fifties.
