Nope. Mahito Yokota is the real genius. Koji Kondo only wrote Good Egg and Comet Observatory. Mahito Yokota did everything else in this game, including the remixes of Athletic Theme from SMB 3 and Mario Bros Ground Theme.

@Swavalier711 Orchestra makes everything more beautiful, but it HAS TO GO ACCORDING TO THE THEME!! The music in Super mario sunshine wasn't beautiful, glorious and majestic like this one, but its not crappy nor retarded just because it's a latino song, it's because that was the theme for that particular mario game, which was beach/tropical paradise, you're not going to put an orchestra on a beach, pool, or even a cruise line, you gotta make the music flow with the theme.

Anyways, SMG was awsm!

Koji Kondo didn't write this. He wrote Good Egg, Gusty Garden, and the Comet Observatory themes.

Actually Koji Kondo took part on the whole music on the orchestrated part, Mahito Yokota originally planned the game to have a music like all mario games have, you know that happy music with Latin percussion instruments like steelpans, bongo drums, and congas but Koji Kondo who was also in the project rejected this, later Yokota presented Miyamoto 3 music pieces, one of them a instrumental one composed by Kondo, that was the one chosen since Miyamoto wanted the game to be like a symphony
