  • What a talent. Didn't knoiw he played the pipes. He was a good "Beach Boy" too.

  • This is an amazing clip. I would love to have been at this concert. There are many great tunes from the same video. Thanks for the memories Glen!!

  • Bless you Glen, Thanks for sharing your amazing talent <3

  • What a talent

  • GLEN COULD SING THE PHONE BOOK AND MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL... PRAYERS ARE WITH HIM AND HIS FAMILY!

  • This was made when Glen was in his prime and known across the globe. I recently read where he is ill now and forgets things on stage. Life can be cruel can't it.

  • Great version of a great song.

  • I love Glen Campbell and his interpretations. He's more of an interpreter with songs than a songwriter, even though he has written some good songs, and plays a mean acoustic guitar!

  • Nice!!!

  • Mr. Campbell can sing, aye, but.......he's NO PIPER!

  • Glen sang this song well! I love this song! OMG, he plays bagpipes too!

  • Is this the Jeff Dayton Band backing him up, here??

  • I never thought anyone could sing this song until I saw this. Amazing.

  • What concert is this? where? when? it must have been one of the BEST Glen Campbell concerts

  • @tuc6100 I'm not sure which concert this is, but Campbell DID perform this tune at "The Dome".... someplace in Great Britain. I first spotted the performance on a PBS broadcast, where the video "Glen Campbell--Live at The Dome" was mentioned/offered for sale. He also performs Ralph McTell's "Streets Of London". He had a great band with him. It was, indeed, a moving performance.

  • Unbelieveable!! Gives me goosebumps every time I hear and see this video. I wouldn't have believed old Glen to be capable of this kind of emoting. I also had no idea he could play bagpipes.

  • By far, Glenn puts more heart & soul in this song than anyone else I've seen and listened to. His original recording of this will take your breath away. I like it better than Paul's version.

  • Ok, I have to admit.....GLen's never been one of my favorites singers but this song is beautiful. And I love to hear bagpipes and had no idea he could play them. This absolutely blows me away. I love it.

  • When will Glen get the CMA or ACM recognition is deserves? He's truly one of the best talents of our time. Please, before it's too late!

  • @ericedy I was wrong....he has been honored by both CMA and ACM....awards are posted here on YouTube

  • beautiful from one Scott to another . You show thum how tae kick ass Glen

  • Fantastic! One of my favorite songs and performed perfectly by Glen, one of the best entertainers/musicians of our time.

  • Glenn,Why am i not surprised at a class act performance

from you, you have my vote.

    Paisley Buddy

  • Glen Campbell is an amazing musician..

  • favorite song for me from him is little drummer with bagpipes...awesome

  • He made a nice recording of "Amazing Grace" for Capitol with bagpipes.

  • @VideosTimes2 Yeah. I like his sense of humor. At the start he said, that you see there is no beginning of this man talent. And procuced such performance of this ong alone that could'nt be done anymore by anyone. Deep respect. Glen är best.

  • @VideosTimes2

I saw Glen Campbell perform in Richmond, Virginia a few years ago and he sang this song and then played the bagpipes. Looked great live.

  • awesome

  • wow

  • Wow. Beautiful song, beautiful voice, beautiful arrangement. And, my God, the pipes are haunting.

Thanks, Glen, and thanks Paul for writing an incredible tune.

  • WOW-Gives me chills (again) Beautiful song, beautiful arrangement.

    Thanks, Glen

  • It's in the blood - music of the ages - timeless and straight from the heart. Thanks for posting!

  • This guy always had pure talent, like John Denver. Way to go Glen!

  • Fantastic!! Glen never fails to impress.

    Fantastic version!

  • This is great--he really does a fantastic job!! I've never been a fan of his since he sang my hometown's song-- Galveston,,,nor the lineman one, But this is a fantastic song sung by him!! Of course I like Sir Paul's better!! TY

  • Music to die for!! I had never heard this version either but it's awesome. Not as awesome as Sir Paul McCartney's but in its own way with Mr. Campbell playing the bagpipe! What a treat...TY for this video!

  • he does it well.

  • Wow....first time I heard Glen Campbell's version. I always loved the original version my McCartney. It doesn't shock me at all that he can play bagpipes. Glen Campbell is a great musician.....they guy was a working stuido musician, brief stint as a Bech Boy, and then solo. He's got the chops.

  • Paul McCartney wrote this song? Really?

    Hmmmm Kira

  • Yes Paul McCartney wrote song

  • Sung like a true Scotsman, with a true Scots name. Loved it. From a Glaswegian with parents from the Isle of Harris and Islay now living on Long island, New York, USA for 43 years.

  • Hoot mon! Where's his Kilt and Tartan!

  • I love this version, and I did not know that Glen Campbell played bagpipes. I also love the version sung by Celtic Thunder's George. But I would have to say that this one touched me even more than Celtic Thunders version, and I'm really a fan of that group.

  • Sings like he means it, and the blood of his ancestors beckon him to to sing and sing it right

  • havnt heard the original , i have grown up listening to Glens version, its amazing, he has such a great voice! even today :) new album is great to! he can sing anything although i prefer the older stuff :D thanks 4 uploading its beautiful , bagpipes are awesome x

  • well no wonder

    Glen Campbell(quite a Scottish name)

Only his Scottish blood could pump his heart to sing this song with such soul

  • Never heard such a wonderful version of this song before! wow! its wonderful great voice great talent

  • Glen has truly done a beautiful job not only singing this sing, but allowing the listener to beleive what he is singing. What a heart felt piece- and compliments the true meaning with the bag pipes. I can not say enough about this version, sung by Mr. Glen Campbell. Thanks for posting this video.

  • 5 stars ranking-- Thanks for uploading the Campbell's version of the song.

  • Beautiful! From an Ulster-Scot who grew up 15 miles across the water from the heavenly Mull!

  • It must be an amazingly beautiful place to inspire such a fine song.

  • It is very quiet and I suppose a perfect place for a rock star to relax away from the rock'n' roll lifestyle. I have been in a helicopter flying over Paul's house on a summer day and that was fairly awesome.

  • It there is just a trace of the Glen in you the skin goosebumps when you hear this.... I liked his 60's version with the Black Watch playing the pipes

  • Bravo........from a Glaswegian.

  • Absolutely! ... from the grandson of Glaswegians

  • YOU BET!!!!!!from a Welsh, Irish Scot...

  • He does a great version, and the bagpipe playing is amazing!

  • Not too shabby to say the least...Great version of this song..

  • God, that hit the spot!

  • Beautiful!

  • Wow a Scot at heart!

  • Actually a Scot by name, too.

  • i always loved this song.

  • i guess i said enough,thanks

  • any true human being, that can't appreciate this music, well, then they are not what i will call all human.

  • jeb909,yes i too, hear Appalachian folk and gospel music in this song. and yes Glen does it better than Paul in my OPINION. I LOVE GLENS MUSIC!

  • i'm Scotch-Irish, Appalachian born i'm proud to say, love all of Glen's music, but this is my favorite, soo magnificent!"

  • OMG! What an incredible talent! Of course, Glen is from Arkansas. This is where our Ozark, bluegrass music comes from - our Scottish-Irish heritage. Ever notice how easily a Southern accent converts to an English or Irish accent? This music touches me to my very soul! My Irish grandmother would sing out loud as could be whenever it hit her. We have carried our love of music through the generations. Check out my son on My Space - Ryker James - singer/songwriter, plays all instruments. Will enjoy!

  • @Sheliah19 He's a Campbell, of course he can handle celtic music.

  • Glen's Bagpipe playing is legendary. Look for his version of Bonaparte's Retreat - his BIG bagpipe tune.

  • im scottish and im so,so proud of this song from wings but to hear glen campbell sign it was amazin (grace) to hear and to hear him play the bagpipes makes it even better

  • I once saw Glen on television playing "Little Drummer Boy" on the bagpipes. It was absolutely stunning! Unlike anything I've ever heard! If anyone finds a recording of him playing that song, PLEASE post it. It is awesome!

  • 10 POINTS AND 5 STARS

    only three little problems

    1 the mic stand

    2 the sweat

3 time is hardly enough to switch from singing to playing the pipe and points number 1 and 2 make the problem bigger

  • Chacho que haces tú cantando esto si lo tuyo es el Country.

  • I wonder if anybody else hears Appalachian folk and gospel music in this. I always thought so when Paul did it, but with Glen Cambell doing it, it becomes even more obvious. It makes sense because Appalachian people are mostly Scotch-Irish. I just find it fascinating to hear the music from which ours mutated.

  • the man is class his pipes wer in the campbell tartan too.forget not!

  • Outstanding version of a classic song never played in the US.....incredible. The US was too concerned with disco when Paul released this incredible song. Glen did justice to a perfect version by Paul...what a talented guy!

Also Glen's new album is very very good!

    Thank you for posting.

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • I've always loved Glen C. My parents had all his lp's and I grew up listening to him. He's a phenomenal musician. Love this video! Thanks for posting it.

  • I would give it a 5 stars.

  • Amazin song from the DVD titled Glen Campbell In Dublin. Glen says before the start of the song that he is "part Irish" and is going to sing a "song by a current artist Paul McCartney".

Great song... great version. I love the "false finger" of a few notes. John Lennon would have loved this version, even if he wouldn't credit Paul Mc Cartney for a great song!!!

    Namaste,

    Richard

  • great

  • Did Glen just jump out of a pool before he sang this song?

  • he starts the concert in a full suit.... and has to drop layers the whole way through......

  • Quite a guy, ain't he.

  • He did a great job with this. Way to go, Glen.

  • Hi Robin :::::waves::: yes indeed! This song was made for him.

  • This is a QUALITY video.

Mull of Kintyre in Country style, i love it. Love Glen Campbell and love this song. I live in England but got Scottish Blood in me, so it kinda means sumfin to me aswell. Thanks 4 the video.

  • Moving and incredible by the most under-rated musician of all time.

  • So under rated and so talented.

  • Awesome...Wonderful Scotland. Thanks.

  • Impressive. Almost a one man band.

  • love this video thank you very much!

  • And thanks to Mr. Campabell for such a stunning performance!!

  • This is amazing. Glen plays bagpipes! Who knew?

  • He stops up the drones so they don't sound, that makes it easier for him to get in and out of the tune. He does a good job having not had much in the way of formal bagpipe instruction. He does "false finger" a few notes that tends to flatten the sound some. But hey, he gives our instrument a fine go at it.

  • I certainly didn't know he played the pipes. A very talented musician who does a great job on this classic song!

  • I don't believe it's ever been released on cd, but try to find Campbell's LP "I Knew Jesus Before He Was A Superstar" which includes his fantastic "Amazing Grace" where he plays the bagpipes!
