I so pleased to have a First Edition Book from this series, I've used it for years and still make the Christmas Pudding and most of all the other recipes.
@PennyDreadfuI Probably the same way that Christina Crawford dealt with her post Joan Crawford years.
I know that Gwen Troake, the woman that Fanny mercilessly demolished on camera (and thus demolishing her own career in the process) did release her own cookbook later on.
OMG -- I watch these cooking vids with utter fascination... Exactly what is Fanny about? What an odd character! Also, every dish she makes is food I'd never dream of eating - so awfully rich and laden with butter or cream, etc. Look what she put into this trifle! Gloopy layers of various sugary foods and sauces. I think I'm a diabetic now form just watching!
Franny will always be a englands treasure but I dont think I would like her as my boss though lol I feel for her assistant her darling sarah she keeps refering too
i wish so much much here mincemeat programme was here, its hysterical i saw it on sky, she tells a story about a woman who used apricot face cream instead of rose water in one of her recipies! it has to been seen so funny.
I don't know if it's the one you mean, but if you watch the one about Christmas cake she's on about the woman with the orange and rose water and getting a dirty letter. Ask for one for CULINARY USE my darlings!
Does anyone know where you can get hold of the Fanny Cradock's Christmas cookery book, because she keeps refering to it in all of her christmas programmes? Thanks.

Sarah's not shaking because she's camera-shy. She' shaking because she knows that if she f's up, Fanny will make her spend a week in "The Box".

@MiHiVidz Ha! I've been wondering how Sarah fared in the years following her stint with Mrs. Cradock.

Looks like a pile of raw cinnamon rolls under melted chocolate, vanilla pudding, and buttercream ribbons laid down by a madwoman.

I wish I could see some of the programmes with Johnny in as well.
I remember she used to say "and Johnny will do the washing up"
I bet a lot have been wiped now though.
