This is not his first TD. His first TD on a season game was against the Cowboys if I recall correctly. This was a pre season game. Either way RODGERS MVP!
@spymode Still not getting the concept of "Teams" are we....What's a QB w/out his receivers....Whats a QB w/out his offensive line....True enough...it's pretty tough for a receiver to catch a ball w/out a QB....but it CAN be done....Wildcat formation much?
@LTlKUSHl21 yea i don't like the helmet rule, i believe this is the last year that rule wasn't in place. imagine if that rule ever comes into play in a clutch moment like someone scored a winning touchdown but his helmet came off so it doesn't count, fans will really hate the rule when that happens
I was at this game. It was the first preseason game of 2008 and Aaron's first ever start as QB for the packers.
Although I already had tickets months in advance, all the season ticket holders were up in arms that they (Ted and Mike) traded Brett Favre and were protesting it by selling their tickets at the gates.
You could buy tickets outside for $20-$50 that day, way below face, but the stadium was still pretty packed.
I would say those fans are eating there words now.

@camseeber I have no doubt most of these people have been Thompson supporters NOW, if you know what I mean. It's funny how very few Favre supporters there are, and the mostly fall in three categories - joe barstool who lived vicariously through Favre, chicks, or younger dudes who like WWF bullshit too and can't tell the difference between a real sport and contrived crap. At the end that is what Favre The LEGEND is, WWF-esque hype by the NFL to increase the market and sell jerseys.
this was preseason, it didnt count towards his career stats... his first start/td/win came against Vikings in week 1... in other words, MN was the first victim of Rodgers... WOOT! GO PACKS!!!
@thirdyearronin Actually, Rodgers threw a TD pass to Greg Jennings in 2007 against the Cowboys in releif of Favre. So the Cowboys were the first 'victims.'
Actually that TD pass was in the preseason. His first TD pass as a starter was against the Vikings and it was even better than this one. He went through 5 progressions, fell backwards to avoid the pass rush, and threw a strike to the end zone for the TD. Steve Young talked about it after the game and said it was very rare for such a young QB to be making great veteran passes like that.
If that same pass happened today it wouldn't of counted. The play would of been dead because James Jones lost his helmet. Aaron Rodgers is fucking awesome. I am still pissed about the two OT losses we have had the Packers need to get healthy again and my boy Clay Matthews needs to come back as well. GO PACK GO!!!!
I watched this live and I was dayyyyyuuuuummmmm that fool got lit up, he lost his helmet and I was like holy mother of balls he's still running. You gotta admit that was pretty hardcore for a pre-season game.
This is the first TD pass of the preseason before 2008. It is not Rodgers first preseason TD, career TD or anything else. The title here is completely wrong, it is a cool play though!

Well just to make things clear it was his first touchdown pass as a starter and in preseason. Against Dallas Cowboys repacling injured Favre was his first touchdown pass in an NFL game...
Craziness! If you wanna hear a pretty catchy AR song, check out "Aaron Rodgers Seems Alright". My friend's band just wrote it. Check it out on my page!
@spymode1 i know man, people are always like that. Id like to see them try to throw a 40 - 50 yard slant with precision. Half these kids cant even throw 40 yards lobbing.
@urofan989 Thats because we Packer fans love our team to death!!! If you want to get inside our beautiful stadium, then you'll need to plan at least a year in advance that way you'll be guaranteed a seat in Lambeau!!!
@urofan989 Unfortunately, in the early 90's this wasn't true during Majkoski era.... the Packers were so bad that the networks wouldn't broadcast their games in Milwaukee because the attendance was so bad... but then that might have been the best time to watch the Packers.
@sanggol2 What the hell are you talking about? I've watched every Packer game since 1977 on either cbs or fox (or nbc or cbs if it as an AFC televised matchup)? And every game HAS been sold out for decades, no blackout rules in Wisconsin as long as I can remember, around GB or Milwaukee.
favres not washed up he just doesnt throw for 38 TD's anymore...he could easily be an average QB now in his early 40's if he wanted to.. the Packers Will always be remembered for Favre, and the Lombardi era players... but now its the rodgers era... Favre proved himself and now gets to have a bust in canton,,we'll see if rodgers can prove himself
i think this is one of Rodger's first games. That's bec in his first 3 games he was throwing so god damn high to the recievers. I am suprised none of our recievers got injered from being left out to dry from his passes. Thank goodness he got that under control later in the season, even if we didn't get very far.
How about you look a little deeper retard. Rodgers and the offense were putting up an average of 30 points a game. The problem lied with the defense, Barnett and Cullens getting hurt, Harris and Bigsby being hurt for a while, overall the defense just couldn't stop anyone from putting points up.
exxxxacly, aaron had great stats with no running game, and i know he threw some costly interceptions like against carolina or houston i think, but favre did it too. rodgers can lead the team, we just need a defense to help him out a bit
what evidence do you have that says he is going to suck? And I do have evidence he has the 5th best passer rating, he is 8th in passing yards, 7th in touchdowns, 5 int's to favres 12, and one of the best TD to INT ratios of starting quarterbacks in the league, yeah clearly I am talking out of my ass. He sucked today because he didn't have anytime in the pocket and everytime the offense did something good the refs called a penalty
I never said they were better off with rodgers, i wanted favre back at the beginning of the year, but you can't say rodgers sucks after nine games when he has performed very well most of the games.
They are better off with favre, period. Clearly a bad move and after giving everything he had to the GB organization, he deserves much better then he got and it's an embarrasement to the organization, the fans, and the NFL.
ur pathetic, typical dumbass packer fan writing off the best QB in the game just cause YOUR organization decided on an unproven QB versus a 3-time MVP!!!!
6-10 vs 9-7, niether made the playoffs, but atleast Favre had it going for him with a better o-line and defense, Favre i don'tt hink has any gas left in the tank really, otherwise he would led the jets to 11-5 atleast
just a mistake to you im pointing this out because im a packer fan and i know alot so that wasnt his 1st TD pass, his first one was against the cowboys last year. But good video any way Aaron Rodgers needs a turn at QB but Brett was still good and im glad he still gets to play as a Jet and so now im a Jet and a Packer fan. Just my point is, that wasnt his first TD pass.
it's a great touchdown but not a great quality video

I never said they were better off with rodgers, i wanted favre back at the beginning of the year, but you can't say rodgers sucks after nine games when he has performed very well most of the games.

They are better off with favre, period. Clearly a bad move and after giving everything he had to the GB organization, he deserves much better then he got and it's an embarrasement to the organization, the fans, and the NFL.

idiot rodgers has the fourth best passer rating in the nfl,, the packers are loosing because of their run defense

Rodgers = not as good as Favre.
Enough said.

Brett Favre is 39 and won't be playing in a year or two. Aaron Rodgers will be a pro bowl caliber for QB for the next 10+ years.
Enough said.
Oh and Brett Favre can't finish a playoff game anymore without throwing a dumbass pick.

ur pathetic, typical dumbass packer fan writing off the best QB in the game just cause YOUR organization decided on an unproven QB versus a 3-time MVP!!!!
Nice trade.
Jets- 7-3
GB 5-5
Suck on it.

6-10 vs 9-7, niether made the playoffs, but atleast Favre had it going for him with a better o-line and defense, Favre i don'tt hink has any gas left in the tank really, otherwise he would led the jets to 11-5 atleast

thats what i was thinking so its not really his firt TD pass
packattack25 3 years ago
just a mistake to you im pointing this out because im a packer fan and i know alot so that wasnt his 1st TD pass, his first one was against the cowboys last year. But good video any way Aaron Rodgers needs a turn at QB but Brett was still good and im glad he still gets to play as a Jet and so now im a Jet and a Packer fan. Just my point is, that wasnt his first TD pass.

actually he may have had one in a pre season before this year.
His first TD pass in a regular season game came last year against the Cowboys. A TD to Greg Jennings.
