  • Where did you get the spoke wrench?

  • don't get too crazy turning those nipples!

  • wow, bikes are complicated! i always used to think they were pretty simple...

  • @a10fjet I did too...It's amazing how much stuff you can't see is in a bike. Like the "bottom bracket", never heard of such a thing and yet it's an important part of the bike.

  • @fadumpt You see the bottom bracket every time you look at the bottom of your frame.

  • You need another camera angle as the mechanics hand is always in the way so I can't see what is happening. ffs is it that difficult to make a proper guide video?

  • oops..... i went crazy turning the nipple

  • I still laugh every time I hear nipple...

  • Great step by step instuctions very useful to know

    Mike at Jestomic

  • nice video. just trued my back wheel perfectly with the help of this vid and im missing a spoke

  • 1:26 That's what she said!!!!!!

  • can somebody please tell me how much it cost to true their own wheel.

    Thanks

  • @DutchKid121 umm free? if your doing it youself the spoke wrench is $6.99 on danscomp. good investment

  • @HardcoreMiike no lol I meant cost of the spokes, wheel, hub. stuff like that, but thank you though. :)

  • @josepalomo100 depends on how bad your rim is. usually it will range from 10 to 50 bucks. anything more expensive, theyll tell you to buy a new rim. and thats for one rim

  • @josepalomo100 depends on how bad your rim is. usually it will range from 10 to 50 bucks. anything more expensive, theyll tell you to buy a new rim

  • full engagement in the nipple.

  • i didn't know willem dafoe was a bike specialist!

  • i have a mountain bike and the wires that connects the handle bar to the brake poped HELP ME!!!!!

  • @josepalomo100 They're cables, and it happens when they get old. Go to a local bike shop, they'll fix it in 30 minutes or less.

  • @CaptianItalian11 for how much?

  • i cant figure out the roundness... , i can true it if its swaying from side to side easily, but the roundess pisses me off, its always 2 sides that are opposite from each other that are either sticking out or wobbling back in, and the side thats sticking out is already hella tight, and the side that isnt sticking out has hella loose nipples =_=

  • poncho herrera hehehe i love this guy, he taught me mountain biking stuff when i started biking

  • my rim looks as though rocky balboa pissed on it (pretty big dent looks like some one punched the hell out of it. can it still be fixed???

  • Pretty helpful, thank you very much!

  • Easy on the nipples. Do it slooooww!!!!!!!

  • full engagement on the nipple?

  • So should i remove the tire off the rim when i do this?

  • @aaabronco Not necessarily, the reason he's got the tyre off here is because he's just built the wheel. If you are going to do this with the tyre on make sure you're not needing to turn the nipples more than around 1 turn because if you are then the spokes could stick out too far giving you a puncture. :)

  • i tried to do a tailwhip on my bike n the back slammed 2 the ground and you can see it curve off lool

  • A priceless help, not just saved a trip to the shop but maybe for buying a new bike wheel. Thanks a lot!

  • cool...now I just need my truing stand to start twisting nipples!!

  • how do you fix a hop in the wheel. if i spin it and look at it from the side the wheel goes a little up and down

  • @MrJpizzle96 Then the actual rim its self is bent.

  • i cant see the video :(

  • awwww i just noticed the daffodil

  • Good good...

  • thanks for this

  • HAHAHAHAHAH he said nipple

  • This is a pretty good video for once, it made a lot of sense.

  • does this work with a spaner?

  • this was helpful for sure.

  • thank you!

  • gonna need this in the future

  • great stuff. simple and easy to follow. very helpful. Keep these bike maintenance how to videos coming?

  • I did this to a few of my biek rims they get slightly bent over hard riding... i dont use a truing stand or gauge. i simply take the tire off. remove the tire and tube. reinstall it on the bike. and just grab a pear of pliers i know its not the most correct way but it works and your average person usually have the tools. just a pair of pliers and a wrench to remove and reinstall the rim.

  • lol "don't get too crazy turning these nipples 3 or 4 turns"

  • nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple

  • ::insert nipple joke::

  • tity twister

  • NIPPLES

  • HAhahahahaHahahahHhHAhhahahHAhahahahahaha Nipples.

  • i can't believe it. the only expertvillage video that was actually helpful.

  • my rim has a couple inches sideways movement... can i fix it doing this or is my rim fucked?

  • you want full engagement of the nipple lol

  • i couldnt imagine working at a bike shop with my buddies while drinking and trying to take turning a nipple seriously

  • dont get crazy turning these nipples 3 or 4 turns

  • Only truing video you should watch.

  • How hard should I crank on my nipples?

  • @hapidjus69 You bastard.

  • I am turning my nipples right now...

  • @UmbrellaFitzgerald Enough with the nipple jokes!

  • Thank you very much

  • Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Very helpful!

  • It helped. but what if you dont have a ting that tells if the wheel has a hop? cuz i got a bad hop

  • @troubleduo2 then go to i

  • thank you very much...

  • ... that is so what she said im sorry but someone had to say it

  • Yeah my bike wheel has really sore nipples at the moment

  • tell me about it hahaha lol

  • finally somebody explains it properly! cheers mate!

  • HAHA he said nipple.. but on a serious note, great vid!

  • Informative and very well put together for the novice to understand. I appreciate the final tip on making sure tension is adequate by observing the back side of the spoke and nipple interface.

  • great video, it helped me alot, thanks.

  • With practice, if the wheel isn't too wobbly, trueing can be done without taking the wheel out of the bike; brake pads make excellent reference points both for side wobble & roundness.

  • Good video mate.

  • this dude is an expert finally ...

  • he he he he ....nipple

  • SO mature :|

  • My MTN bike wheel says its 559 x 27mm. What size spoke tool should I buy? Thanks

  • that has nothing to do with the size nipple wrench you will need. gunna have to measure the nipples or get a wrench with the three most common interfaces

  • Yep 3 mos ago this was a stupid question. I purchased the 3 way tool so all set.

  • Thak you - I hope I will be succesful on my bike.

  • nice video!

  • wow this is the first expert village video i have seen that was actually helpful

  • lmao, i thought the same after it was over, i was like ,yay exertvillage taught me something for the first time!!!

  • @beefcakethemighty507 that's because you're helpless

  • Don't get to crazy twisting these nipples.

  • LOL :)

  • @RoninXCCOD hahahah stupid

  • @RoninXCCOD lmao nipppppplee

  • @RoninXCCOD or they will get radically upset!

  • @RoninXCCOD ... that's what she said :P

  • @djSpinege

    hehehehehee

  • Hi. This helped me a lot. Thank you.

  • Hi there. I have a question my wheel is realy bad, i hit it hard and it bend it a lot. The wheel in the vid, the damage from 1 to 10, lets say is 2, my wheel compared to that opne is 5, do you think is possible to fix it? The bike stores here say no, its to bad, but i dont think they understand anything about it. hank you!

  • Thanks you did a great job! Very informative and easy to understand!!

  • Great job in explaining thank you. probably don't need a truing stand. Just use your bike brakes to see where it is messed up.

  • I normally use a piece of chulk to make the mark on the rim. IN this case you do not need to rmove wheel from the bike and do not need the feeler.

  • WOW thanks, i just stuffed my bike up! lol

  • thanks!

  • ..at least this guy explains that the opposite side is tensioned and the other side is detensioned in relation to where the feeler is touching.

  • sweet, plain and simpler. great video!
