Fun Fact: Their guitarist 'Spencer Sercombe' is now the guitar-teacher of a good friend of mine, and believe me he is still the most talented and sweet guy ever. He has 3 sons and is married. He cut his blond angel hair, but sometimes he is still rockin orange glasses haha. Cheers!
11/11/11 marks 32yrs. of Sharks/Shark Island music. Spencer (guitarist) and Richard (vocalist) formed this group 11/11/79.
On 11/11/11 an acoustic version of Paris Calling will be aired on wmmtfm.org streaming online. Greg Napier the DJ of this station in this time slot plays this and other songs we've come to know and love - both hits and obscure singles - Sunday's beginning at 4pm Pacific Standard Time. One of the best albums released in the later 80's genre. Law of the Order is hands down one of the greatest. Not one bad song on it. Loved this "tape" back in the day. Wish these guys would of got the fame they deserved. And RIchard is one of the coolest frontmen ever. Just ask Axl Rose where he got his moves from.
I worked on this Video! This band was amazing live as well! I still listen to their CD.. Richard, Spencer, Greg and Chris were very cool! One of my many jobs on this vid besides production coordinating was painting that very big floor black and Ialso operated the light dimmers for the pulsating lights on Greg's drum hits around 3:44 lol this vid was low budget but we still shot it on film I think the total budget was 15K Alan Carter the Director/Editor really put together a great video!
@thatsafreakbaby nope Axl stole it from him , he didin't teach him shit , Axl used to videotape him and he learned his moves and Axl admired him and he tought he was a great performer ,they even played toguether , but some people has it on them, some of them ,even with his moves they didint made it big
In my 18th birthday I asked my father to buy me this LP (in Shades Records at Gibraltar, with Love/Hate's debut album) it amazed me then and still I think Shark Island was one of the best hard rock bands ever.
I was an old 80's rocker and saw this band along with the damn yankees in Phoenix while in school out there...brings back memories of old GF's partying, etc...nice post...
I know I'm gonna get some flack for this (and I deserve it, trust me), but I only had the cassette back then....listened to it constantly, then (and please be kind)....
I moved to Ottawa and GOT RID OF IT!
I know....I was stupid....I haven't heard the album in years, but every song is so distinct in my memory....I have to get this cd again!
Hey lanewide, I had the cassette too. ...and played the shit out of it. I must have played "Paris is Calling" a million times..."play" "stop" "rewind" and "play" again. My tape was so stretched out!. This was a great band! No matter how much shit you get for admitting it, you have to love the 80's and the music that was the soundtrack to those times.
wt a tune... remindsz me of me and my mann lol. wer bad for each uvaaa itsz sad buh its truuu ... wer bad for each uva so whysz it hav tu feel so gd wen im lyin nxt tu u !
Are you guys serious hahahahahahaha, fuck man thats the lamest attempt at writing lyrics I've nearly ever herd, please tell me it's an 80's song please !
Kindest regards Guthrie Govan cum check me out ya pussies
No need to check you out our your pussy. Obviously your music career is on fire, oh ya what label are y our signed with. This is one of many great shark island songs. Appreciate it or shut your trap, looser!!!!!
Hey !!! All you Shark Island prey. Let's get the word out about one of the best bands ever. They should have been bigger then life. They were great live! Let's revive these guys and see if we can get them to reunite and put on a gig in LA.
Ryan, How can we be bad for each other if you never gave it a chance? You can't walk way I know this. So look me in the eyes and say it to me once more. Tell me how much you want me, maybe this time I will believe you.
Well your never to old(47) to discover new music. Another lost band that us in Australia never got to hear along with (Steelheart,Firehouse,Lynch Mob,Hardline,Bulletboys,HSAS,Kix,Danger Danger etc...)glad YOU Tube is around to see what we missed. Guys get them to come down here.
Vain? Will have to check them out. Name some others, I'm always trying to dig up great old metal bands! Saigon Kick Tigertailz Killer Dwarfs Herricane Alice are a few !!

I know where all the songs are from...the fuckin SHITE HOUSE! What is it with all this ballad piss about relationships? I can't believe I watched this crap but I'm still fuckin laughing...thank fuck it's over for this mob...ha ha fuckin ha!!!!!
suparokdog would rather listen to music about sucking dick, marco polo, and peanut butter and jelly. 80's Hair Metal will always be the best. suparokdog is a FAGGOT!
Do you know if all the songs from Law of the order are in here? The only song I knew until today was Paris Calling. I know about "Dangerous" and "Father Time."
I used to watch these guys at Gazzarri's a lot. They put on a very professional and entertaining show. The best of that era, for rock genre, in my opinion. GNR was obviously really good too, but very sloppy. These guys were tight, and Richard Black is a great stage presence.
Great band. Anyone have any vids of The original lineup of The Sharks/with Rick, Spencer, Dave and Jim. There album Alter Ego is a one of a kind. On vinyl of course. The also have a 45 vinyl of a cover of "Get it on" and the flip side is "Hey".
I have "Alter Ego", "Get it on", also the Xmas '45 that had "Santa Clause is comming to Town" sung to the music of Judas Priest's "Hell on to the Highway" Dont forget "LA Rocks" Great sh*t from this Arcadia Ca. Band. I saw them TOO MANY TIMES, they killed it back then!!
Cheers!
