i'm addicted to this video, one of my favorite waits songs and the first time i watched it i thought it was just good. but after watching it 12 times in 24 hours, i am astounded by it. i love that your voice isn't amazing, it's so emotional. and the accordion is incredible. one of the best covers of any song i've ever seen.
The rendition was well meant, and I loved that you are exposing your talent for others, and at the same time spreading the gospel of Tom. I must say the vocals seemed forced, was that intentional in order to emulate Tom? If so, in my opinion you shouldn't try to change your natural vocal style in order to mimic his. He didn't get where he is by following anyone's drumbeat except his own. With that tired cliche I give you kudos and look forward to more of your own work as well.
Fantastic, man. Just fantastic. I hope you don't mind, but I forwarded this to the folks at Anti in the hopes that Mr. Waits would see it. I think he'd really appreciate such a sincere rendition. Keep at it. You're very talented.
Rockin' video, dude. I'm not trying to criticize, but I'm kinda anal about chords and stuff; for the "Don't let 'em wander and roam" section, it actually goes from G to A to D, rather than G, C, D(substituting the IV with the II is really common in gospel-y stuff). For the middle section, also, I believe that it goes C, G, B7, Em, and then the C, G, D part. Just trying to help, hope I don't come off as an ass. Tight video, tight song.
I hear ya completely. The chords I used were in a nice little cosy spot for the accordion. But yeah, I'll use those chords you posted for guitar or whatever else. They fit with that lone trumpet that you hear in the Orphans recording that I could never find a place for in performing with the accordion. Thanks.

Really good job bro, but turn off the mic and scream the lyrics out of your soul, it would be cooler/deeper.

hi, this brilliant performance encouraged me to play this song on guitar at my grandma's 70th birthday.
i also wanna say that your "weird" rendition of mississippi might be one of very few dylan covers ever worthy it's existence.

Many thanks. It would make my life to know that Mr. Waits somewhere out there saw it. I'm sure he's a very gracious man.

Very creative.
I liked watching the scene through lens of hand held camera, scanning clown ,floating balloons and people sitting in metal folding chairs.
