I think that any church that wants to insinuate themselves monetarily or otherwise like the Mormon one did/doing for this issue should have their non-taxable status stripped. To use your money and influence your beliefs onto other people in a bigot type of way shows that you want to insinuate yourself directly into the political field and goes against the separation of church and state. Tony Perkins is right on! There are restrictions on who you can marry; there are restrictions in our moral laws. There are certain things that society deems acceptable and other things it does not. The only reason same-sex marriage is becoming acceptable is due to the incredibly self-serving, shortsighted agenda of the gay and lesbian community. They refuse to see the dangers of modifying moral standards and the impact it has upon the family unit.

Safely-- that found that marriage is such a bacic right that incarcerated convicted murderers(or on death row) can marry, and others too: rapists, people who murder their spouse(s), child abusers, child killers, .....

And before you say that it doesn't and that it is instead based off of the "traditional definition", it's worth noting that they are one in the same? And the fact that it has been subject to those benefits while it clearly is in support of the definition of one singular religion, it just serves as an example of a mistake on the part of those who didn't recognize it.

Can anyone explain to me how the gay lifestyle can be considered natural? Put two gay guys or gals on an island and how do they propagate their species? People who are living the gay lifestyle can be very personable and intelligent but how can they rationalize that being gay is natural? All religion aside, it isn't supported by basic biology and propagation of a species.

Some of the nicest, quietest people in the world may disapprove of or even hate gays, but they're smarter than to go public with their feelings, preferring to expose their views only to like minded family, friends and colleagues. I agree with most of what Dan Savage has to say and nothing Tony Perkins has to say. Why doesn't he allow the persuasiveness of his arguments to win people over rather than engaging in the bullying and intimidation tactics so prevalent in American discours? He doesn't need to stoop to this behaviour. Whether Perkins' opinions are informed or not, let the viewers hear him rather than behaving like a hysterical banshee.

Also, separate but equal has proven time and time again to be a lie and to be discriminatory. Oh, and you CAN change a law because a minority of the people is being abused. That is why laws change.
