actually the RX7 is a high rev engine this person obviously didnt use the cars potential at all. 1st gear he should have had the jump, 2nd gear still pulling away, 3rd gear is when you start to see the tail lights. you can nearly redline unless you fine tune the engine so that you can have the limiter pushing to 9k. a piston engine will never be a high rev engine!

@balla740 depends on what kind of power weight racing etc. and don't tell me an lsx rx7 would make a better road race car than a 3 rotor, it just wouldn't and besides many rx8's are whipping porsches and vettes in grand am every week, you can't deny
400hp on a 2 rotor is near impossible unless you can figure a way to get 15000+ RPMs out of it and some CRAZY port job. 3 rotor is a lot easier, an R26B makes something near 600 and that's only a 4 rotor (but it does have a lot of racing parts like the variable length intake).
My FD with a 35R makes 489hp/375tq @20psi....... @ 30psi and Q16 it made 603hp/445tq.
There are plenty of 13B's out in PR that are making around 400hp at the crank using rx8 rotors and massive D shaped Peripheral ports with equally large exhaust ports, using either Carb's or fuel injection.
If you dont know the mechanics of how to squeeze every ounce of power out of a rotary, then i would leave my ignorace at the door
Its using the older 12A's when they can barely break the 350hp mark on PP's and fuel injection.
Only a few guys in austrailia were able to make the closest to 400hp on a 12A. They were around the 370hp mark using some extremely aggressive timing and revving the bitch out to 12k

Those are stock s4 t2 rims. also the black trim means its a series 4 86-88 go back to the honda forum. egi just means fuel injected not naturally aspirated. and also as well the Rx7 NA engine on the fc doesnt say EGI on any model its only on the first gens. so yeah..
I do own a turbo II, series 5 FC3S, im guessing it was a turbo conversion as the black bump strips down the side and EGI alloys mean it was an EGI, turbo IIs have colour coded bump strips, its a nice sleeper if it is :)

Dur lets see, The intake suck in air which goes thru the compressor side of the turbo, from there it goes thru the intercooler which cools the compressed air, next it goes into the intake manifold and mixes with fuel and continues into the combustion chamber, it combust's then moves on to the turbine side as gasses which spins the turbine wheel even faster. Do you want me to get into wast gates and BOV's and RBV?
Do YOU know what a RBV is? I bet not! Its a Recirculating by pass valve. That means instead the excess air being vented into the atmosphere like it does with a bov, it is recirculated back into the intake system. Wastegates prevent too much pressure within the system caused by exhaust gasses as the rpm's rise. It is a valve that releases the excess pressure. Seriously kid don't try to school me in anything!
you do realize that by thinner air, it just means that there is less oxygen in the air. You are thinking that it doesnt matter because air is shoved in anyways, but while air is being shoved in at higher alt. it has less oxygen, the less oxygen in the air, the smaller the explosion in the chamber, thus the less power created. Every car is affected, and boosted tends to notice the effects more.
I have owned 4 turbo cars, and 1 supercharged car, along with numerous all motor and 1 on nitrous. Drive your boosted car down a track in 80 degree weather, then in 60 and see if there is a difference.
same with altitude. The thinner air at higher altitude has less oxygen. A turbo/supercharger can help make up a difference in alt, and it will not suffer as badly as a car on motor, but it will still be affected. It has nothing to do with physics(a natural science; it is the study of matter and its motion through spacetime)
Technically the effects of altitude and humidity are the same for both NA and turbo vehicles. They'll change a larger percentage of the performance of turbo vehicles, however, due to the fact that it's cramming what is available into the engine. Less oxygen is available at higher altitude, not just lower pressure.
its not that its less oxygen, its that its just lower pressure. its still the same mixture in the air, just less of it. a turbo will still compress the air and push out whatever lbs of boost you're demanding of it, and keep that amount of power. at high altitude, or low.
if there was less oxygen the higher you go, fighter pilots and commercial aircraft flying at 30,000ft wouldn't have power/propulsion due to having less oxygen parts per million.
Thats not an RX7 That a supra, probable years is 86-90. I know, because I have a supra like that.

@balla740 in all seriousness, rotarys can be mildly built to make 400HP+ on an NA build. its all tuning. as with a V8. all tuning. its hand in hand.

400hp on a 2 rotor is near impossible unless you can figure a way to get 15000+ RPMs out of it and some CRAZY port job. 3 rotor is a lot easier, an R26B makes something near 600 and that's only a 4 rotor (but it does have a lot of racing parts like the variable length intake).

No its not.....
My FD with a 35R makes 489hp/375tq @20psi....... @ 30psi and Q16 it made 603hp/445tq.
There are plenty of 13B's out in PR that are making around 400hp at the crank using rx8 rotors and massive D shaped Peripheral ports with equally large exhaust ports, using either Carb's or fuel injection.
If you dont know the mechanics of how to squeeze every ounce of power out of a rotary, then i would leave my ignorace at the door

Its using the older 12A's when they can barely break the 350hp mark on PP's and fuel injection.
Only a few guys in austrailia were able to make the closest to 400hp on a 12A. They were around the 370hp mark using some extremely aggressive timing and revving the bitch out to 12k

@balla740 yea but think about it rotary's still stay right next to them its not like a v8 will blow it by alot.it might beat it by like 2 secs,and the rotary's in puerto rico are doin up to 6 secs and they can do low 6 if the tracks where longer heck maybe even 5

But you want to talk V8 let's talk. How does an all aluminum 572 Hemi super stock grab you? Look at my videos man. I am not some dumb ass ricer. I know cars, and I know what a V8 is capable of, it's just not ideal in ALL

@iBEaSTEYY17 I like G35's there nice cars, really nice, alot better than a 350z. I actually considered buying a 350 until I sat in it. I'm 6'2" and 230lbs. I didn't fit well.
G35 has an inch more legroom and in my opinion a much nicer car than a 350. Yeah 572's are pretty common in Nostalgia drag racing these days. Actually IHRA Pro Stock cars are 800+ cubes! Now that's huge!!

Those are stock s4 t2 rims. also the black trim means its a series 4 86-88 go back to the honda forum. egi just means fuel injected not naturally aspirated. and also as well the Rx7 NA engine on the fc doesnt say EGI on any model its only on the first gens. so yeah..

I do own a turbo II, series 5 FC3S, im guessing it was a turbo conversion as the black bump strips down the side and EGI alloys mean it was an EGI, turbo IIs have colour coded bump strips, its a nice sleeper if it is :)

Then they can't drive. Besides when they rate cars they don't rate with humidity levels and elevation increases. On top of that forced induction vehicles are effected very little by the elevation and weather. noob

Are you serious? You do realize why na cars are affected by the elevation right? The higher the elevation the thinner the air The lower the thicker the air. Duh man come on. Think about it. I know because I have a boosted car and know many people with boosted cars. Kansas and Texas elevations are hardly even different. What is it that you drive kid?

Are you serious? I'm a mechanic fool i went to tech school. Dur lets see, The intake suck in air which goes thru the compressor side of the turbo, from there it goes thru the intercooler which cools the compressed air, next it goes into the intake manifold and mixes with fuel and continues into the combustion chamber, it combust's then moves on to the turbine side as gasses which spins the turbine wheel even faster. Do you want me to get into wast gates and BOV's and RBV?

Do YOU know what a RBV is? I bet not! Its a Recirculating by pass valve. That means instead the excess air being vented into the atmosphere like it does with a bov, it is recirculated back into the intake system. Wastegates prevent too much pressure within the system caused by exhaust gasses as the rpm's rise. It is a valve that releases the excess pressure. Seriously kid don't try to school me in anything!

you do realize that by thinner air, it just means that there is less oxygen in the air. You are thinking that it doesnt matter because air is shoved in anyways, but while air is being shoved in at higher alt. it has less oxygen, the less oxygen in the air, the smaller the explosion in the chamber, thus the less power created. Every car is affected, and boosted tends to notice the effects more.

I have owned 4 turbo cars, and 1 supercharged car, along with numerous all motor and 1 on nitrous. Drive your boosted car down a track in 80 degree weather, then in 60 and see if there is a difference.

Temp wise yes of course! Altitude will effect a na car way more than boosted. It's called physics man, seriously think about it.

same with altitude. The thinner air at higher altitude has less oxygen. A turbo/supercharger can help make up a difference in alt, and it will not suffer as badly as a car on motor, but it will still be affected. It has nothing to do with physics(a natural science; it is the study of matter and its motion through spacetime)

Technically the effects of altitude and humidity are the same for both NA and turbo vehicles. They'll change a larger percentage of the performance of turbo vehicles, however, due to the fact that it's cramming what is available into the engine. Less oxygen is available at higher altitude, not just lower pressure.

its not that its less oxygen, its that its just lower pressure. its still the same mixture in the air, just less of it. a turbo will still compress the air and push out whatever lbs of boost you're demanding of it, and keep that amount of power. at high altitude, or low.
if there was less oxygen the higher you go, fighter pilots and commercial aircraft flying at 30,000ft wouldn't have power/propulsion due to having less oxygen parts per million.
